“4.5 ⭐️s for overall experience! My friend, her kids, and I enjoyed our meal in mostly every way - flavors, service, and cleanliness. The house salad was healthy (not just iceberg lettuce) and had a generous portion for one person. My friend said it was super delicious - Sunset roll, blue crab roll, and miso black cod were on point flavor wise. Only negatives were that the seaweed was a bit chewy (not super tough though) and the soup slightly salty. The staff was kind, friendly, attentive, and patient - hard to come by these days. Prices are reasonable and I plan to come back. Parking is tougher at times in this plaza, but at some point, you'll find a spot.“

“Oh man it's been a while since I was excited for Japanese food. This place definitely hit the spot on a rainy day. The rubber ducky decor elevated the experience to an 11/10. We ordered the chicken karage, katsudon don, and soba noodles with tempura on the side. Lemme tell you, we were STUFFED. They were hecking busy when we went and everyone's food looked so amazing. Had an immediate food coma after this. Will 100% be coming back.Parking: Corner plaza free parking lot. Free street parking is available.“

“The service was GREAT and the mango sticky rice was super delicious! The mango was super ripe and sweet and the rice had the perfect salty edge to it. It could use a bit more of the coconut sauce, but other than that it was absolutely amazing! The ambiance was great and calm with minimal music playing the background. The interior was also nicely decorated with additional seating outside.“

“Hayatobi is my secret weapon. It's my raw fish Japanese izakaya that's my go-to when I have a craving. My favorite is the takowasa (marinated raw octopus in fresh ginger, fresh raw wasabi with salmon eggs); it goes so well with the house hot sake. I also can't pass up the karabiki pork sausage, which is roasted on a grill over hot coals until the casing blisters up; think of tasty miniature kielbasa but much better. I love it with their hot Asian mustard. Their rolls are very fresh and clean - like their negitoro (raw chopped tuna with scallions in a sushi rice roll with nori). Other stuff I've had on the menu include any number of specials like the "fatty" platter of sushi that includes the belly of many fishes (yellowtail, tuna, salmon). The crispy rice with spicy tuna topped with jalepeno, while really popular everywhere is best here. There is lot parking but it's best to come when they open or rather earlier in the evening. The servers are very attentive and are quick to refill your draft Sapporo or hot sake. They also have a great selection of cold sakes and they rate them according to sweetness and minerality so you can properly pair them with whatever you decide to order. This place is great! Just remember that they are closed on Tuesdays.“
