“i have been 4tunate enuf 2 have tried both locations but of course, many more times in HH since its been there 5+ yrs ~ originally i often didnt fill up after their omakase mealz but they have since improved & i dont leave hungry i started visitin HH location cuz an old friemd used 2b da chef there; he has since retired & im happy i got 2 try this new location ~ food is yumz, service is good, place is clean & modern wished there were somethin they can do bout da noisy background ~ its very echoey, thus hard 2 hear wut frenz r sayin (def less noisy @HH location)“

“Not from the area but I love Pasadena and sushi so I had this spot on my list for sometime. They squeezed us in at the bar for an hour meal since they were fully booked for the night which is a great sign. The entire restaurant was buzzing, busy and packed, so if you're planning on eating here please make reservations! Loved watching the attention to detail the sushi chef made on every plate. Servers and staff are beyond attentive. One small piece of feedback...the menu didn't have a description of what was in the rolls and I didn't want to ask the chef about all of them. It would have been nice to have it detailed out. Other than that I'll definitely be back. The quality of the food was excellent!“

Very nice owner and employee, great experience all around. A bit expensive for me, but so is everything in Pasadena. They seemed to go really hard in on the branding and I hope it pays off!!“

This is the third different location I’ve been to in this local chain and the service and quality of food is consistent. I almost always get the Nozawa omakase and I did this time as well and each course was presented beautifully that tasted great. If you don’t mind a wait because they don’t take reservations then you should definitely give this place a shot.“

There are plenty of good westernized or Korean-ized Japanese places out there, but for a meal that is delicious, fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and reminds me of home, Matsuri is the obvious choice in Pasadena. “It was okay I kind of liked it but it was a bit expensive for lunch. Maybe I didn't get the right thing. I want to say good things about it because my partner enjoyed it and I got the bulgogi but and the lady was nice . I was stationed in Korea though so so it's going to be hard I've had real Korean food. I've had the best Korean food actually. “OMG! Soooo Gooodddd! Don't go anywhere else, this place is legit, and it's tasteful. 100 percent quality teriyaki done right, not over cooked, or undercooked. No scrappy meat, or odd ball rice and noodles. Very good tasting and very delicious from beginning to end.I am definitely saving this spot and will be coming back for many more! Parking is a challenge, so order ahead or plan it right to get your food. Other than that, the lady this morning was extremely helpful and courteous for a 1st time visit that superseded my expectations!Thank you!!“

“This is the best restaurant ... my coworkers and I would come here at least once weekly. Lately they haven't been open for lunch and only dinner. We just found out they're actually closing on Friday 5/24 :( They'll be open for dinner that Friday, but they're moving on because of a sick relative. I'm so sad to see this place go. “As someone from Osaka, I can confirm this is a Japanese restaurant with home style dishes and legit kushikatsu (of which is a bit lighter due to less batter and more panko crusted instead). We went on Valentine's Day for a special meal and it was packed. Service may be a bit more relaxed than one may be used to, so please be patient and enjoy the thoughtful hospitality and cuisine. Their unagi yanagawa (simmered eel with strips of burdock root covered in egg) was very comforting and tasty. Thank you for the delightful and memorable meal.“

“The mediocre reviews here are surprising. This is a great neighborhood spot with generous cuts of high quality fish. Service can be slow if they're busy, but it's not for lack of trying. We've ordered take out a few times and dined in once; it's been consistent each time. Fair prices, too. Just solid all-around. Sometimes, I wonder if US customers just can't appreciate simple, high quality sushi. After Komasa closed, we've searched all over for a good replacement, and Noda + Noshi are the best we've found in terms of quality and value.“

I wish the portions were a little bigger. Fortunately, I ordered a side item to help fill me up. For the price, I would say, it is above average... but not as good a value as Curry House when it was still around.“

“Teriyaki chicken is always tasty, specially when I order it without teriyaki sauce. The beef has a unique taste texture for me , but it's pretty good also. California rolls and baked salmon rolls are tasty as well. The prices here are pretty reasonable and decent size portions. I usually get my order to go but the place is usually nice and clean. Will definitely continue to make it a routine spot !“

“Food is really good. Meats taste fresh. The 6 persons party course had good portion sizes and enough to fill all of us. My favorite was their bibimbap side dish. Service was great. We were able to get same day reservations and when we checked in, they already had our table ready. Food was delivered quick. Servers tended to our needs in a timely manner. The vibe of the whole restaurant is quiet and nice. The price of everything is very affordable as well. Definitely coming back!“

“This is the best spot for teriyaki anywhere. They make fantastic teriyaki everything, but what my husband and I always get are the ABC Burgers and teri-fries. Oh, and the chicken musibis, too! They really are out of this world. If you're on the fence about stopping by, go for it! The rice dishes are very good too. You really can't go wrong with whatever you order.“

“This place doesn't seem to get a lot of customers. We visited twice when in Pasadena, because other places were packed. The food & service were great. Prices were a bit high but not too bad. I liked the seafood plate for shabu. Bathroom was clean. Definitely recommend if places like Cheesecake Factory have too long a wait.“
