“It's been over two weeks since my family and I visited The Polish American Bistro. It would be remiss of me not to leave a wonderful review of this lovely restaurant! Ania and Darek, the owners, are the nicest and most hospitable people ever! Since I have family in Poland, it was fun to talk to them about their homeland. Now about their food . . . it's completely amazing! I ordered galumpki (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage). The tomato sauce on top was so delicious, it spun circles around the sauce my grandma used to make (sorry, Grandma!)! My husband ate a breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes. SO tasty! And my daughter opted for a cheeseburger that looked and tasted so great that we even returned the next day to order another cheeseburger to go! Our entrees were accompanied by a side of two types of salad - one made of marinated red cabbage, and the other was their super delectable authentic Polish sour cream, cucumbers and dill. As you can tell, our dinner itself was a 5-star experience. Last but not least, I must discuss their DESSERTS! When you walk into Ania and Darek's restaurant, your eyes will immediately be drawn to their multi-tier display of desserts. Unfortunately, since our stomachs were full after our delicious dinner, we couldn't even think of dessert. However, take-home was still an option! So I asked Ania to escort me to the dessert case and tell me about her sweet treats. It turns out she owns a bakery in another suburb, and all the desserts are made on location at the bakery FROM SCRATCH! So we took a few home (see photo), ate them the next evening, and they did not disappoint! I loved them all, especially the vanilla custard inside the eclair and fruit tart! The chocolately hazelnut dessert was a Kinder Bueno torte. I want to go back and try more of these amazing treats! You should really go check out The Polish American Bistro, whether or not you are Polish! They have food for everyone. Dziękuję Ania and Darek!”

“I used to live 1 street over from the restaurant for years and haven’t been back since I moved. The food is even better than it was 15+ years ago. Next time I’m in town around lunchtime I will definitely be stopping here to eat. Next time I’ll need to other of their smoked meats. I had the burnt ends and beef brisket which were excellent . “Small place, easy to miss. Excellent thin crust pizza. Limoncello Cake is light and delicious. The traditional bone-in wings are made to perfection. Wings were so good, they were gone before I thought to snap a pic. Very clean restaurant. Friendly staff.”

I live in Texas and stopped by here for a burrito (they nicely would whip up a vegetarian one) and it demolished most of the Mexican food I’ve had at home.Soft, chewy tortilla slightly griddled and outstanding flavor.Literally look no further.The owner is also an incredible guy and it’s a small business you just support!”

“We were in the mood for Chinese food so we did a reviews search and Chinese Palace topped the list. I called to order and the order taker was friendly and professional. I picked up the food, and friendly people greeted me and my food was ready and paid/tip cashier. When I got home we were shocked at how generous the portions were and everything smelled delicious. We dug in and I kept eating until I was full and still had so much leftover! We would defiintely go back and highly recommend Chinese Palace.”

However the hours are a bit odd they open pretty late but they close late to which is convenient. Overall great place!”

It’s the only bar where friends gather and has an amazing culture and sense of community. If you don’t want to go to the city, but want that alternative bar that’s inclusive and has that good vibe this is the place for you. Daniella is exceptional and goes out of her way to accommodate your needs, and aside from her I haven’t met a bartender I didn’t like.A+ and highly recommend.”

“Fantastic taco! Tongue was tender and the perfect amount. Ingredients in the burrito was nicely distributed.Rice and beans were average, could do without.Minus one star for the tamale. SO SO DRY. Literally the worst tamale I had in my life. Pork is tasteless, if any. My guess is that the tamale was made way in advance, and so now that it’s old and dry, reheating it made it even drier.”

I’ve been to the shop plenty of times as well and they have even more sweet treats there. Definitely stop by and support this great local business!!”

“Today I went to Starbucks where, my daughter, Rachel worked so I could hand out dry floral pendants (flowers from her funeral to her Starbucks family! I know that Starbucks has had it’s fair share of scrutiny lately, but they have been nothing short of amazing through this. They have set a memorial table up in Rachel’s honor. They also called in grief counselors and pulled in shift support from other stores so that people who knew Rachel could take time to grieve individually as well attend her service.”

“Tried Farmhouse on North for the first time tonight. EXCELLENT food and a really comfortable atmosphere. I had the good fortune to meet the owner Meghan also. What a sweet, wonderful person. Highly recommend you try this place! Barrington needs excellent restaurants like Farmhouse on North.”
