“There is a certain kind of very important restaurant in New York, which looks like an auto-parts store on the inside, has staff that are very new to English, and serves food that’s hard to find anywhere else in America. This is one of those restaurants. Everything we tried on the menu was beautiful and aromatic, some spicy and some mild, always comfort food. Not fancy, completely affordable, and highly localized in one region of western China. Lamb abounds, and the rice noodles are homemade. Chowhounds will love it. Rough and satisfying, this is an uncut diamond.“

“My go to place; been going to this cart for years (since 2018) and Afghan Boys has always maintained high quality throughout. All of their offerings are super flavorful with great portions, you can’t go wrong with any of them! This cart is definitely worth the detour, and it’s close to a Q47 bus stop (connects to Roosevelt Ave station). Owners are absolutely amazing and hard working“

“EggHolic Indian Cuisine offers authentic flavors and a welcoming ambiance. Their standout dishes include the chicken toofani, delicious wraps and freshly prepared sandwiches. Loved their attentive service especially by Nitasha and Vipul making it a must-visit for Indian food enthusiasts. Lastly, their mango mastani is sweet treat definitely worth trying.Vegetarian options: They have paneer for vegetarians.“

“This is so close to being a six star place. What I liked was these were thicker smash burger almost hybrid. They had those crispy edges but had a nice bite to it. Loved the toppings and they were not greasy.I also order a chicken sandwich which was impeccably cooked. Moist inside, crispy and great bun. One of the best chicken cooked. The only thing keeping it from that extra star is it needed more seasoning. Something to make that amazing mouthful joyful. I could taste a hint of their sauce and the toppings but I really wanted the meat to have more flavor. Best analogy was a meat ice berg lettuce salad.I’ll be back to check though cause this could be that spot. Soooo close.Service was great. Place was clean. Place was packed for good reason.“

“My wife and I make the trip down from Westchester every week or two to come to our favorite restaurant in the world. We are always greeted with the warmest hospitality, and the most outrageously delicious Thai food we’ve ever had. This little joint has become like a second home to us, and walking through the doors we always inevitably have a big smile on our faces, knowing, we’re about to have not just an amazing meal but a great experience as well. I speak for my wife when I say, we cannot recommend this restaurant enough!“

“We have dined-in at Hello Bangladesh numerous times during our trips to New York. We liked their food, service, and ambiance so much that we took catering from them for our son's wedding program. They provided excellent food as well as service at a reasonable cost. We continued going to their store any time we are in New York City. We highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Bangladeshi food.Vegetarian options: Okra Bhaji, Aloo Bhaji, eggplant bhaji, Different Bhorta, Lentil/Daal, Veg Shingara.Dietary restrictions: Halal meat is cooked. Also, few vegetarian and vegan options are available.Parking: Street parking available most of the times.Kid-friendliness: Nice ambience.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat access through door. But I did not try to use a wheel-chair. Please call restaurant before going.“
“I’ve always had a good time going here, prices are more than just reasonable, their taste is also very consistent overall. They open from 10 AM to 10 PM despite what Google says.My personal favorite is the lamb over rice with mayo and hot sauce, which is only $7. Not only is it super filling, but also rich in flavor especially if you ask for extra sauce.“

“Everything tastes so good here! The worker gives the best service I’ve seen in a food cart. My favorite is the chicken over rice platter, it tastes juicy and not dry like other places. Anything else I’ve eaten is always fresh. 10/10 recommend for sure!!“

“I had a delightful experience at Zaitun Halal on Parsons Blvd in Jamaica, Queens. The Chicken over rice was absolutely scrumptious—perfectly cooked with just the right blend of spices. The flavors were bold and the rice was fluffy and aromatic. Additionally, the meal came in very nice packaging which kept the food warm and was quite convenient. The service was friendly and the atmosphere inviting. A must-visit spot for anyone looking for top-notch Halal cuisine!“

We also tried the fish fry, cutlets (fish and vegetarian), and a whole bunch of Bengali sweets. Everything was amazing. The Chef/Owner was kind and generous with her time and took great care of us. “My partner and I were in the area and decided to give Afridi's halal cart a try. We ordered a combo over rice and a chicken over rice, and we devoured both platters. The food was absolutely delicious, and I'd probably make my way out there again just for more. While waiting, the cart cook gave us samplers of the meat with the different sauces. He was pleasant to speak with and, overall, a genuinely kind person.“

“it was amazing!! The proportions of the chicken and rice were in large amounts. The chicken was cooked well and the rice was soft. The salad on the side was very fresh. Overall I recommend this place for kids and adults. The spice levels canbe altered by asking for little hot sauce and more white sauce. The price is affordable and it is ready in less than 10 minutes.“

“The food doesn’t have much of taste, over-prices and smaller in portions but the service is very good. Friendly servers. Indoor seating g is limited to two tables despite enough space. Well decorative witb quotes and stuff (irrelevant to a food post) Plus point is it’s HALAL.“

“Better than halal guys by far. One of the few places with good chicken that isn't dry and lamb isn't burnt. Only thing I didn't like was the hot sauce. It's definitely got heat, but it's the bitter kind of hot. Fries were also perfectly crispy and not soggy. Not a lot of spots to sit if you want.“

“I just moved to Forest Hills and had a great time here with my adult cousin and 1 year old daughter (both were celebrating birthdays). Naren was our server-very friendly, very attentive, and so sweet with my daughter. We enjoyed the food (we ordered a lot) and my one year old loved the dal tadka and rice-she basically ate half of an adult entree and finished the rest the next day! My cousin and I ordered the beef biryani and butter chicken for main dishes (two parathas too), and the samosa chat for an appetizer. All great. The beef was spicy but we could handle it as Bangladeshis. Highly recommend this adorable place with excellent service!“

“Excellent quality food, excellent service, now to the atmosphere, hmmmm, it's a food truck so definitely can't change the location, but Fresh Meadows isn't what it used to be. Bloomies and Fortunoff's are long gone, so be prepared to be approached by some down on their luck folks looking for a little financial assistance if you're going to eat here al fresco. Get some good Jalisco style tacos with a side of consomme and drive 'em home to savor. Pro tip...the consomme is perfect as a broth with fresh ramen!“

“I wanted a meal that I hold close to my heart, some steaming hot rice, and a decent curry. There were many colorful options on display, we ordered goat biryani, mutton curry, and a hilsa thaali. The thaali came with a comforting bowl of lentils, and some mashed potatoes. The tasty gravy couldn’t mask the fact that the fish wasn’t fresh. The mutton curry was perfect! The servers were very friendly and cheerful.“

“The last time I passed by the bright green food truck parked on the corner of 31st and Ditmars, I had just eaten a massive meal at Hamido's but I made a mental note to return because the food smelled so good even from across the street. I recently was able to return, with an empty stomach, to try the King of Falafel & Shawarma. The vendor greeted me with a falafel to try, and I immediately noticed it was oval shaped. It did taste significantly crunchier, which I am attributing the larger surface area to, and the spices were fantastic. I had my heart set on trying their kefta but unfortunately by the time I arrived late Saturday evening, they were out of everything except their chicken and falafel, so I had a platter of that instead ($12). My plate was absolutely packed and smothered with their white sauce (highly recommend the red sauce as well as it packs a subtle punch), and the salad was a very welcome addition to the rice and mound of marinated and shaved chicken shawarma. There is so much flavor packed in every single bite, and the way the chicken was marinated definitely sets it apart from other shawarma carts I've tried thus far. Everyone I spoke to, including the other patrons waiting for their order, had only amazing praises to sing for KoF and I can easily understand why. I'm very happy to discover that they also have a truck on 53rd and Park, as Astoria is a bit of a trek for me.PS- An update: I have now finally managed to sample their chicken and beef shawarma, as well as their kefta too. My favorite still remains the chicken shawarma, which edges out the beef because it remains juicer and better marinated. I found the kefta a little too dry for my preference and it lacked that smoky grilled flavor. If you are going to order one thing, get their chicken or chicken and falafel platter with white sauce, red sauce, and extra tahini. And maybe a side order of falafels (4 for $3 to munch on the way home).“

“Truly had no expectations for this chain fast-food spot, but was taken aback. Firstly, the service is lovely. The people behind the counter are super pleasant and listen to what you want for your meal. The food is cheap and so is the soda ($1 for a can!). Went with a chicken salad and they allowed me to add as many topics as I wanted to the salad, including hummus, and then topped it with white sauce. Excellent option in the area with so many competing such options. Will go back.“

“The burgers are ALWAYS amazing here! Would eat it everyday tbh. Side note to management- if possible, please don’t staple the bag. I understand it’s to ensure it’s sealed BUT just recently I opened it and unfortunately a staple fell into my friends burger and thankfully she caught it. “amazing lamb , probably some of the best in the city! chicken n lamb salad for only $8 a plate and it’s some of the best around… Most places charge $12-15 for chicken w lamb salads and for $8 this is some of the best lamb around! A lot of other places also have very chewy lamb w a lot of fat and this place doesn’t have that! it’s completely different. I come here daily sometimes even twice a day and had lamb all over, he cooks it perfectly!“

“Interesting place to grab some Indian food. The menu has a good amount of options which isn't overwhelming. I would def try to get here earlier than usual just because of how packed it gets later in the day. Def try their cheese toast and chilli paneer. Both are really good starters. I would avoid their butter chicken though. It was too watery and sweet. Not like typical butter chicken. Our food came out quick and the ambiance was alright. Nothing crazy about this place but they do have good options if you are in the mood for some Indian food.Vegetarian options: Some are vegetarian.Parking: Can park under the 7 train and walk. Otherwise it's somewhat hard to find street parking close by.“
