Wooden City Spokane 821 W Riverside Ave, Spokane American • $$

“Went to Wooden City (with a reservation—they are busy!). It was the BEST restaurant experience I’ve had in years. From the hostess the the many wait staff that stopped by our table to the food—all were classy, professional, and the food was delicious. The croutons in the Caesar Salad were soft and chewy (yumm!), the Fried Polenta with Vodka Sauce (chef’s kiss), and the Fancy Burger and Fries were so tasty—the burst of flavor in the burger was just outstanding. I’d go again and again! Thank you for a most wonderful dining experience!”

SUSHI BLOSSOM 1228 S Grand Blvd, Spokane Sushi • $$

“We made a reservation here on Tuesday evening, we were seated quickly and our table was clean. The restaurant was tidy and beautifully decorated with Japanese items and ornaments. It's on the smaller side, so be prepared to wait if you come during busier nights. Our orders of an Idaho roll, Love Blossom combo, and Salmon Blossom were placed quickly. Review below: Idaho Roll- A roll of yellowtail, cucumber, and scallions. The yellowtail had a delicious, fresh fish taste, perfectly pairing with the crisp fragrance of the cucumber and herbal flourish of the scallions. The rice was ever so mildly sweet, just enough to impart a light essence to the roll. And the light aroma of seaweed from the wrap was just the finishing touch this roll needed. Although on the dry side, the texture of the rice lent itself well to the fattiness of the yellowtail and the crunch of the cucumber. Some rolls were a bit messy, but it all looks the same in your stomach, right? Love Blossom combo- From left to right, the nigiri is escolar (extra white tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), hamachi (amberjack), yellowtail, salmon, and tuna. Came with miso soup. I didn't have the miso, but it came in a timely fashion. The nigiri rice was on the drier side, however you feel about that. The fish portions were generous and perfectly balanced with the rice, and the knife work was excellent. Salmon was a bit on the fatty side but it paired well with the umami of the soy sauce and the dry nutty sweetness of the rice. Salmon Blossom- basically sliced salmon on a California roll. Very generous portion of krab. Soft and tender without being overly creamy or rich, and you could still taste the salmon and avocado, even the sweet rice. Salmon was on the fatty side. I did enjoy that, though. For fast service and great food for the value, come visit Sushi Blossom!”

“Talk to their customers better you never know what someone is going through and be considerate and honest with making a mistake with someone's order by not putting everything in their bag don't just lie and say you have to pay for more when it's not right to take extra money when the customer already paid for what the employees failed to put in the bag especially if the customer was just there and you remember them being there after 10 seconds of giving the customer their bag. I am just disappointed at the service I received with trying to take extra money from the customers. Above all McDonalds wanted to argue with me with my young child in the car very disappointed. When your child says mommy wheres my food and you don't have it because the employees lie about putting in your bag that's a huge disgrace and total disappointment in their service. McDonalds on Monroe and Francis in Spokane is not the place to go for child friendly nor adult friendly services. Restaurants are asking for the community to support them to stay open during hard times the McDonald's on Monroe can go downhill for all I care my services ended with them this morning. and maybe that's why they wouldn't put my food in my bag and wanted me to order more so they can get more money....that was not about to happen good try McDonald's”

“So, we heard of this place as a recommendation from another coach of ours. It’s a super cute place with a great ambiance. I’m a fan of the inside, with the paintings (vibrant colors) from only one artist. That was pretty cool. The service again was fantastic and outstanding. I mean you really couldn’t do much better than this. It’s a super nice and friendly place. The food, that’s the big thing we are looking at hear. Being someone who lives in Texas, take this with a grain of salt.We had the chicken artichoke and tomatoes basil soups. Personally, probably the best soups they have. We tried the jalapeno popper and it was very spicy. The beer cheese soup tasted ungodly for us. However, not our thing. The beer bread was really odd too, but we don’t eat that typically. Overall, we tried a lot and it was a lot of fun. Love the atmosphere indeed.I would go back for soup again. I do love a good soup.”

“I’ve been a customer of Jose since 2001 and now consider him a great friend/hermano. His customer service is unlike any other in how he treats everyone with excitement to share his passion in serving excellent food and treating you like family. The menu is excellent and I highly suggest trying more than just your “usual” and you won’t be disappointed! We drive from Cheney for the food and of course Jose, my only complaint is that I wish they were closer so I could eat there all the time. The new expansion of the restaurant is a very nice improvement and having a bigger bar is nice since it’s always busy. Tonight we tried mezcal for the first time based off Jose’s recommendation and he made multiple drinks of different versions using mezcal to really show my wife and I what we had been missing. He also introduced us to Sal de gusano and when paired as a rim dusting for a mezcal drink it added another layer of a pallet explosion. He shared his knowledge he gained on mezcal from his recent trip to Wahaka Mexico. We ended up spending over 3 hours there talking with him and left with full stomachs and face hurting from smiling and laughing so much.”

“I've always loved Kitty Cantina and the opportunity to play with all of the kitties. The food and drinks are always good and the kitties make for a fun environment. I love that the Cafe has completely separate air circulation from the cat room - my friend that's allergic to cats was able to dine without a problem. The greatest part about Kitty Cantina is the way they adopt out the cats. I recently adopted a little one from them and I was able to see my cats personality in this environment. In a traditional shelter environment you don't get the same experience. I have to believe that this formula ensures a greater record of adoption success than the traditional shelter.”

“They have great food and our server was fantastic, with a great sense of humor. All of their omelettes are made with 6, yes SIX, eggs and your choice of hash browns or home browns and choice of toast. Alternatively, you can substitute 3 pancakes or a waffle for the toast and hash browns though. Their burgers are all 1/3 pound and come with your choice of French fries, tater tots, onion rings, soup, or salad. I went with Molly’s Favorite Omelette, without the Hollandaise sauce. So huge, I will have (at least) three more meals. My brother went with the German sausage and cheese omelette he said it was really good. My Dad, though was originally planning on getting Molly’s Mess, settled on the full-sized Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. He really enjoyed it. He was amazed at how large it was and that it came with 3 eggs. My Dad’s caregiver opted for a burger. I am so happy she did, I was curious what they would look like. She ordered their Avocado bacon burger and opted for a side of sautéed mushrooms. I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of the bun, because it was a great looking burger. I also ordered a Chicken Fried Steak breakfast to bring home. It was so large, it was packed in two large boxes and a cup of gravy. As always, there was a ton of food and nobody was able to finish any of their meals.”

“I was visiting from out of town. Came to Spokane to spend my birthday weekend with my 2 son's. Not familiar with the area, my children's mom recommended Mizuna. The service- Both my boy's are now adults, but they also have autism. This sometimes triggers others to treat them like they're children. Our waitress directly engaged with them as if they were no different than any other normal adult. As if she couldn't even tell even though it's blatantly obvious. This encouraged my oldest to look directly at her and give his order with a clear and confident voice without stuttering. He even tossed in some hand gestures to over accentuate what he was saying. To the parents of kids on the spectrum, you know how huge this is. The food- Everything we ordered was awesome. The risotto balls, oven baked chicken, cashew crusted avocado noodles. The only let down was that they were out of the crème brûlée. The key lime and bread pudding definitely made up for it though. The drinks- I love me a good classic old fashioned. It's getting harder and harder these days to find an establishment that won't destroy this drink. The bartender came through on this one. My oldest son has a thing for espresso martini's. I asked him how it was and he responded with a double thumbs up. When it was time for the second and third drink, I just asked the waitress to get me whatever drinks she favored. Again she didn't disappoint. We finally ended the night with a couple shots of a very tasty espresso. The food, the drinks, and especially the awesome waitress (I wish I could remember her name). Grabbing something to eat turned into having a nice family dinner.”

“The people who run this place (Melody) are truly my angels. And here is why….I am visiting in Spokane, WA in the downtown area between 2nd and 3rd Ave. I went to get dinner and came back to the hotel and my Great Dane Oso, my world, was gone. This was at 9:30pm. The front desk agent said he heard people right in the area say they saw one so it’s likely he opened the door and walked out of the hotel. No, I am not kidding. He knows how to open doors with handles and I didn’t even consider the hotel door due to its weight.I am from TX on a road trip with just myself and my dog. He truly is my best friend. “Do you know about the hidden gem, only five minutes from downtown Spokane? If you're looking for a great place to eat, I recommend trying out the local bistro. They have friendly staff, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience there. Their wine list is exceptional, but tonight, we decided to try their cocktails. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds with these incredible drinks and appetizers! Start with a Heat Wave cocktail that packs a punch with vodka, jalapeño, passionfruit liquor, and triple sec. Or, try a refreshing Pomegranate Margarita made with tequila, pomegranate, lime, and triple sec. Indulge in a Butter Board layered with smoked honey butter and rosemary, served with delicious applesauce with pistachio and sourdough bread. And don't miss out on the Carrots that are cooked to perfection with smoked honey butter and blackened dill, served with pork rinds. It's no wonder why these Carrots are so addictive The beet salad with a brown butter vinaigrette, frisee, and crispy onions was a good side choice My hubby ordered the steaks and couldn't stop raving about how it was comparable to Churchills - that's how good it was! As for me, I got the halibut; it was a good-sized portion. The chard vegetables- asparagus, were delicious. And the best part? We ended our meal with a warm, gooey blueberry cobbler that was just divine! Oh, I almost forgot! There are no kid's menus, but our server suggested either pizza or they can serve butter noodles Latah Bistro 4241 S Cheney Spokane Rd Spokane, WA 99224 United States”

“This is a very interesting place to eat and drink. Lots of cozy locations for tables tucked into odd places in this former working industrial space. The bar is more traditional with high open ceilings but also a cozy but communal feel in their long tables. Plenty of screens to watch games. The food is always good and often great. “We hosted a memorial service with 48 guests at Tamarack Event House mid-January and every aspect of it was beautiful, primarily due to the sincerity and professionalism of Teresa and everyone else at Tamarack. Hosting a memorial service is never an easy thing to do with all the emotions involved but Teresa, her sister Tina, and the staff helped immensely. Teresa answered emails promptly leading up to the event, gave suggestions on food options, and tested our slideshow well before the service to ensure all was working properly. On the day every aspect was perfect allowing us the family to focus on the service itself. Being from out of town and not knowing much about Spokane, we are thankful we found Tamarack Event House. “In February of 2020 I flew into Spokane to be with my mother who ultimately passed away from complications of cancer at Deaconess Hospital. Your restaurant was the highest rated and recommended steak house by all the hospital staff and locals. I wanted to say a thank you for the special treatment I was given at your restaurant that night. I explained to the hostess my reason for being in town and that I really just wanted to eat my meal and enjoy a few drinks by myself overlooking the river. Obviously that area was seasonally closed, but I was immediately accommodated under the less than usual circumstances and allowed to sit by myself overlooking the Spokane river on a cold dark February night and enjoy my meal and drinks. I have never forgotten that experience and how much it meant to me in that moment and I always remember it every February since. I never got to say thank you to your staff.”

They said they couldn’t cook my salmon rare, and after a bit of back and forth with ordering, I will say that when I did get my salmon the interior did not appear to be over cooked but the exterior was blackened and quite crispy. Not entirely what I wanted but I don’t think it was any fault of the server, I just don’t think the cook understood what I was asking for. Salmon can be cooked to a certain temperature so that it is cooked through, but not over cooked. The raspberry tea tasted a bit off, but wasn’t horrible. Denny's 3525 N Division St, Spokane Diner • $

“I eat here often, the food is on point. Anytime of the day. The only downfall which I can't blame on the establishment itself, is they are understaffed which can impact your visit somewhat. I'm a patient person and easy to get in but some people aren't as understanding.”

Birdie's Pie Shop 712 N Monroe St, Spokane Bakery • $$

“The apple pie y'all! The crust is perfect and insanely good. There is a sticky, crunchy, sweet cinnamon topping - chef's kiss - and it was packed with apple filling. So, so, so good. The bakery staff were very nice and happy to help us with our pie selection. Not to mention the actual shop is really cute. Run, don't walk, and get yourself some pie.”

“Patron is a great addition to this area. The salsa and food are flavorful, the service is friendly and quick, the prices are very fair and the jalapeno margarita was the best margarita I've had in a long time. “We tried the new North location and the food was some of the best we have had lately. The service was great too as we're the prices. My husband and I shared the patty melt and it was perfect! My daughter ordered her burger with the onion rings and the were the best I've had in years. Can't wait to go back for more!! Great job all the way around! Oh and a military discount as well as senior discount!!”

“It was such a fun place to do a small dinner date. I had the cheesy chicken sandwich, and my girl had the southwest salad, and it was so good. It was a little busy, but we still got our food under 5 minutes of wait! Definitely would recommend it. And also such a huge shout out to my server Sinead, who was such a huge help in me being a first time there.”
