“Through someone's recommendation, we came to this place.Service was amazing and we dined-in with adults and children. She not only kept a calm composure, friendly demeanor and also warm hospitality. We ordered coconut curry chicken, chicken friend rice, Pho and three colour vermicelli (bbq chicken, grilled beef and spring roll). The portions were bigger compared to Toronto, but pricing were probably similar to Toronto Vietnamese restaurants too. Parking in this location was easy and ample.Washroom and restaurant was clean.I would definitely come back again if I'm here at Edmonton.“

“Decided to try it with my best friend, as I've been curious if it compares to Pagolac in the city. I am glad I did! It was the best pho I have had! EVER. Amazing authentic beef broth, the salad rolls were delicious, peanut sauce was so tasteful. I am definitely going to bring all my family and friends to try! I noticed lots of take out orders, so I'm going to try that next. The inside of the place has a family restaurant vibe, with basic tables and chairs, so if you are looking for fancy or elegant, this is not that. The good cuisine however makes up for it. I'm so happy I tried this place.“

“If you're anything like me, when you're in the mood to go for Vietnamese food, there are no shortages of Vietnam restaurants available in Edmonton to satisfy your cravings. My wife and I are no strangers to many of these restaurants because it's one of our staples at least several times a month. Each restaurant has its own unique dish(es) so if you're anything like me, I take note of what dish each place is famous for...(at least to me and my wife). Hands down, the spring rolls will be Golden Bird. Salad Rolls would be Siam Thai Restaurant, but in this case, we decided we wanted Pho. And the best place to go for Pho, is Calgary Trail Restaurant in Edmonton. When you first walk in the decor is exactly the same as it was some 20 years ago, so it does need to be updated, but I don't come for the atmosphere...I come for exceptionally good food at a price that is totally fair for what you get. The gentleman who owns the establishment is always very quiet but when you get him talking he's really quite funny. I automatically ordered their very special Vietnamese iced coffee to start. If you haven't tried it before then you're in for a treat. Each restaurant uses their own espresso blend but Calgary Trail Restaurant uses (in my opinion) the best, which makes it outstanding. My wife on the other hand ordered the 3 colors Vietnamese drink. A traditional coconut based concoction that uses red bean and grass jelly, which creates a kaleidoscope of colors in your glass. It's really quite delicious. We invited 2 other friends to join us and I ordered the spring rolls and salad rolls to get the evening off to a good start. My wife ordered the very unusual Dill Fish Cake soup. She described her soup as a delicate but flavorful broth, that came with tender fish cake patties infused with a wonderful dill flavor. She absolutely loved it. I ordered my usual... number 118. Sweet and sour soup with Shrimp and Chicken. This place absolutely knocks this soup out of the park. With the sweet chunks of tomato and pineapple combined with spicy chicken broth with good sized prawns and chunks of chicken breast. A real satisfying meal that makes you leave nothing in the bowl at the end. It's so delicious, that it will be a soup that not only satisfies you but it literally nourishes the soul. It's our go to place when we want great food in a virtually quiet atmosphere. This place should be packed but unfortunately it never is. This is one place that will give you value for your hard earned money. So I suggest anyone reading this should patronize Calgary Trail Restaurant. If not, we may lose a hidden gem forever.“

“This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is cooked well. The vegetables are cooked but still crunchy. The chow mein was perfect. Saucy but easy on the fat and salt. I left feeling full but not heavy from too much greece. The waitress was lovely.“

“I moved to the area a few years ago and found time today to visit for lunch. I ordered the #34 and asked them to hold the green onions. The food was very delicious and the grilled pork was super tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The couple there were very kind. The restaurant is really the perfect size for a family run business and those who may feel overwhelmed by the atmosphere of big crowds. It felt very cozy and cute.I ordered take out, and they made sure to give me cutlery and a sturdy bag. I also liked that they had signs up saying they had to charge a little bit for the take out container (totally fair, the price of everything has gone up). Will come back soon!“

“My brother brought me to this tiny restaurant in south Edmonton and WOW! I ordered the chicken noodle bowl with egg noodles since it was my first time ordering an Asian noodle soup. My brother apparently comes so often, they even know what he wants before he orders. (I tasted his chicken dish-the spicy chicken was amazing!) I have never tasted such a delicious bowl of chicken soup anywhere. And the soup is so healthy using broth. The cook and the man taking our orders are so nice! They have mouth watering pictures of the menu items and they are quick to prepare your order. We went back days later and I enjoyed it so much that I am planning a route on how to get there more often using ETS. You have to check this place out if you have never tried Asian noodle bowls. I know it is only chicken noodle soup, but this is the Real Deal!“

“My partner and I discovered this gem about a month ago and we have been back four times...so yes, I highly recommend checking this beautiful establishment out because AMAZING doesn't even begin to cover it. There are so many delicious things on the menu and I've liked everything I've tried. The Curry Chicken Noodle Soup is my favorite so far and the Southern Vietnamese Noodle Soup is his favorite. The staff are kind and efficient and the prices are also great. Thank you so much, we've found our new favorite date spot ❤️“

“Amazing food. Amazing service. The only reason we ended up here is because we first went to Teriyaki Corner a few doors down and were literally ignored for nearly ten minutes before we walked out... Best thing we could have done. Mini Mango was amazing! Keep it up. We will be back.“

“First thing is we've been coming here since it opened and absolutely love the broth in the phò and the ingredients are always delicious.Secondly I have to express how amazing the staff are here. They treat us with such care and incredible customer service. Because we've been coming for awhile, they've always got my order punched in before we can sit down and greet me with a warm smile. My son LOVES coming here and refuses to go anywhere else because he loves the broth best. I absolutely love this establishment and highly recommend the #15 while my son shovels in his kids size phò with beef balls“

“Good choices on the menu! Tasty, but portion size could be improved. We tried 1) Grilled Chicken/Shrimp/Beef with Rice, 2) Grilled chicken with Vermicelli, and 3) Spring Rolls as entré. The restaurant looks a lot more modern and pleasant after their renivation.“

“We had a well-rounded and exceptionally good experience here, to the point it is hard to know what to discuss. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, the service was quick and kind, the portions were large and delicious, the spicy satay broth was intoxicating...the rest of the food was unexceptional, good value and quality for the price, but the satay was enourmous and delicious. It is hard to recommend this lovely place highly enough, and I am excited to be back in the near future.“

“So this was my first experience with Pho and I have to say the portion size was awesome (too big for my stomach) but the speed of service was almost instant and the food was really good. I will definitely try it again in the future. The staff were friendly and polite and prices weren't crazy for the amount you get.“
