“I would like to say that the Golden Palace was very good! What impressed me the most was that they do no ads msg to any of there food. My husband and I can’t have any msg or it makes us sick. So we were very happy to hear they don’t! It’s hard to find a good Chinese restaurant. I live in Leduc and I will be making the drive to order from there again! I also would like to thank all the staff. I lady I spoke to on the phone on Friday was very helpful! Great food and great service!“

“Went to eat in the patio this week in a chilly day and the owner was kind enough to bring us a patio heater. When we asked what was good on the menu he said the Chinese food was excellent than proceeded to bring us a plate of ginger beef to try. There are so many items on the menu and lots of great choices. Service was incredible and the food was delicious. Our wings were salt and pepper and crispy. Everyone was very satisfied with the portion sizes as well. Highly recommend this as a patio of choice. “If you're anything like me, when you're in the mood to go for Vietnamese food, there are no shortages of Vietnam restaurants available in Edmonton to satisfy your cravings. My wife and I are no strangers to many of these restaurants because it's one of our staples at least several times a month. Each restaurant has its own unique dish(es) so if you're anything like me, I take note of what dish each place is famous for...(at least to me and my wife). Hands down, the spring rolls will be Golden Bird. Salad Rolls would be Siam Thai Restaurant, but in this case, we decided we wanted Pho. And the best place to go for Pho, is Calgary Trail Restaurant in Edmonton. When you first walk in the decor is exactly the same as it was some 20 years ago, so it does need to be updated, but I don't come for the atmosphere...I come for exceptionally good food at a price that is totally fair for what you get. The gentleman who owns the establishment is always very quiet but when you get him talking he's really quite funny. I automatically ordered their very special Vietnamese iced coffee to start. If you haven't tried it before then you're in for a treat. Each restaurant uses their own espresso blend but Calgary Trail Restaurant uses (in my opinion) the best, which makes it outstanding. My wife on the other hand ordered the 3 colors Vietnamese drink. A traditional coconut based concoction that uses red bean and grass jelly, which creates a kaleidoscope of colors in your glass. It's really quite delicious. We invited 2 other friends to join us and I ordered the spring rolls and salad rolls to get the evening off to a good start. My wife ordered the very unusual Dill Fish Cake soup. She described her soup as a delicate but flavorful broth, that came with tender fish cake patties infused with a wonderful dill flavor. She absolutely loved it. I ordered my usual... number 118. Sweet and sour soup with Shrimp and Chicken. This place absolutely knocks this soup out of the park. With the sweet chunks of tomato and pineapple combined with spicy chicken broth with good sized prawns and chunks of chicken breast. A real satisfying meal that makes you leave nothing in the bowl at the end. It's so delicious, that it will be a soup that not only satisfies you but it literally nourishes the soul. It's our go to place when we want great food in a virtually quiet atmosphere. This place should be packed but unfortunately it never is. This is one place that will give you value for your hard earned money. So I suggest anyone reading this should patronize Calgary Trail Restaurant. If not, we may lose a hidden gem forever.“

“This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is cooked well. The vegetables are cooked but still crunchy. The chow mein was perfect. Saucy but easy on the fat and salt. I left feeling full but not heavy from too much greece. The waitress was lovely.“

“Best Chinese restaurant in Edmonton. Their peach shrimp which was fried shrimp and peach with creamy sauce was amazing?? You should definitely try it. I tried chow mein and sweet and sour spareribs were ok, but I guess they have better options. I highly recommend this restaurant especially when you want to crave Chinese food ❤️“

Being Chinese myself, I was initially a bit skeptical about the authenticity of the Chinese food here because it seemed more catered towards a Western audience, but I ordered some dishes recommended by the owners and was blown away by how good they were. I highly recommend their fried rice, beef with flat rice noodles, and nacho wontons. The food was very delicious and had that authentic "fire of the wok" taste. The nacho wontons were a very unique Mexican- Chinese fusion appetizer. The service was also attentive and super nice. Highly recommended!“

“We just happened to be in that area when my husband and I decided to try out Masala wok. Although the ambience wasn't that great, the Chinese we ordered was good! We ordered Hakka noodles and schezwan chicken. We are definitely going back!Edit: editing in 2024. Food quality has gone down.“

“THE BEST JAJANG MYUN PLACE IN EDMONTON? I’m a big fan of this place from 7 years ago. I always order jajang myun which is Korean black bean sauce noodle and Tang Su Yuk which is Korean fried pork with sour sauce. Both of them are still amazing?????? The noodle is fresh and the sauce is mild. The pork is crispy and it’s a perfect match with sauce. The staff is warmly kind too. I highly recommend this place.“

“Excellent Chinese handpulled and hand-cut noodles. The sliced noodles had such a satisfying chew and collected the flavorful chili oil so perfectly, and the beef was delicious. I only wish they had more options with beef or lamb rather than pork — I’d LOVE to try their Chinese burger but don’t eat pork.Vegetarian options: Plenty of meat-free options, including noodles with egg and tomato or just with chili oil.“

“Have driven by this restaurant hundreds of time, but never gone in. Finally tried it and was super impressed!!! The green onion cakes, salad rolls, and vermicelli bowls??? All delicious!!! “Got there pretty early for a Saturday ~11am but already a majority of the bun flavours were sold out and they weren’t planning on making more for the day.The flavor I did get was the dill one which honestly was pretty good though not my preferred. So very juicy! So much so that it leaked in the takeout box and when you take a bite. The bun was subtlety sweet with a nice bounce.“

“Good Taste near Century park is a restaurant that offers decent Chinese food. their “salivating chicken” (cold dish of chicken in peanut/chili/sesame sauce) is their signature dish. Their tomato soup and wrap (similar to peking duck wrap but with cooked pork instead of duck) was fairly good as well, so I’d rate them 8/10“

“This is a hidden gem for authentic chinese food. BIG portions which is nice but the quality is even better. Usually pretty slow inside but lots of take out orders. Maybe because its tucked away in a little strip mall. If you are ever in the area I suggest trying it. Food always comes out hot and fresh. Chicken fried rice with salted fish is soo good. Beef brisket hot pot, salt & pepper squid and vermicelli noodles with XO sauce are some of my ''go to'' items. Not overloaded with MSG either.“

“Ambience was nice. Spacing between tables are ample especially if you have small children. Great family experience.Parking: We had a place to park but i believed if it is busy time it will be a bit challenging but there are communal parking lot availble shared with other establishments close to it.Kid-friendliness: I like the spaces between tables which is if you have kids.“

“We stopped by Beijing Beijing Dim Sum & Seafood Restaurant for some teatime snacks and decided a few dim sum dishes should be enough for both of us. We ordered Stuffed Shrimp Eggplant, Taro Root Pork Dumplings, Steamed Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, Beef Tendon in Special Sauce and a plate of Rice Roll with Beef. The dishes tasted good and appetizing, only the rice roll was slightly lack of flavour so we added some chilli sauce to it lol. The place is big and spacious with a nice ambiance. Staff were really nice and friendly, always checking on us and refilling our tea pot (Jasmine Tea). There is a big tank of fresh live lobsters for those who like lobster dishes. We would like to try some of their other dishes like Beef Fried Rice Noodles, Ginger Beef, Sticky Rice with Chinese Sausage, Fried Crab and Lobster with Sticky Rice and on our next visit.“

“I would give a 3.5 but google doesn’t allow that. However, I don’t understand the 1 star ratings I have seen. We ordered on skip and the food wasn’t that bad at all. It was actually decent. Just lacked flavour, with the fried rice and usage of frozen veggies wasn't that flavourful. Fried rice should always be important for a Chinese restaurant. Sweet and sour sauce was a little runny and watered down. Noodles were good (chow mein). Overall if you’re looking for a quick Chinese fix, try them out. I’ll order again in the near future, hopefully they improve a bit.“
