We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Fonda Fora last night with friends. On the whole, the food was terrific, with wonderful flavours and a nice combination of tradition with innovation/a bit of fusion. The drinks were excellent (and the only thing I felt was a bit pricey). Had an amazing birthday dinner here tonight! The staff went above and beyond, even with a cute card signed and left for me on the table. Servers were very attentive and willing to accommodate us getting a ‘happy hour’ order in under the wire! We shared a number of small plates between us. The Tuna Tataki, SIKIL PA'AK dip, and salmon sashimi (pictured) were our faves! Good cocktails too. This was our first visit and we will go back. We went early to avoid the crowds and hit Happy Hour which includes some drinks and some appetizers. This was the best Calgary-based ceviche we have tried. The soft tacos and the quesadilla were excellent. There is one dessert that the server told us takes 25 minutes to prepare and my suggestion would be to "upsell" it by telling customers way in advance if they want to try it.
