The High Tea service is a must-try for foodies and high tea lovers, with impeccable service and delicious treats. They are incredibly accommodating to dietary restrictions and take extra care to avoid cross-contamination. The food is divine, with fluffy scones, perfect sandwiches, and beautiful desserts. The only improvement could be the option to purchase the tea for home. On the other hand, the regular dining experience during downtown dining week left one visitor disappointed. While some dishes like the Mushroom soup were outstanding, others like the Bison Carpaccio and lamb suffered from weak flavors and overcooking. The dessert was better, but served in hard cookie-crust shells. Despite the culinary hiccups, the beautiful room and good company made the experience enjoyable. The manager discounted parts of the bill, although the lack of self-awareness was found amusing. Overall, the Harvest Room at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is an Edmonton institution worth visiting for its class, beauty, and exceptional service. Whether it's for High Tea or brunch, the Harvest Room guarantees a pleasant dining experience with quality ingredients and a stunning view of the river valley.
