Food is not what it used to be. Ambience is outdated - it's time for an update. Started with lobster eggrolls which were ok. Had the crabcake sandwich ad hubby had the burger. Crabcake had a fishy taste and croissant was hard. We ordered cocktails which were very disappointing - flavors in the specialty cocktails were off balance and did not complement each other. Better to stick with wine, beer, or standard mixed drink maybe. Bartender didn't appear to be experienced. I don't think we will dine here frequently. An Auburn standby but has definitely declined.Vegetarian options: Salads and seafood dishes, including apps and sides. Try the Brussel sprouts but hold the bacon.

Best place in Auburn in our opinion. Good draft list, friendly service, not crazy expensive, comfy outdoor seating. Any time someone visits us from out of town, we take them here.

On the day I went, it was cold inside. The shrimp and grits I had were delicious. Prices were very good.

My husband and I were staying in Opelika for a pickleball tournament, and found this jewel in Auburn. It was way before the dinner hour, so there was no problem with parking or finding a table. Before we arrived at Amsterdam Cafe, Hubs complained that he didn't want "pub food." I assured him that the limited menu had plenty of variety, and surely he'd find something he liked to eat. He ordered the pork chop with assorted peas, greens, and a biscuit. He was blown away that it was cooked to perfection. He loved the accompanying barbecue sauce so much, that he asked for more to slather on the pork. I ordered a well made cup of tomato soup. It was rich and creamy, with Boursin crumbles floating on top. With the soup, I had the small Cobb salad with house made Gorgonzola dressing. It was a generous amount with lots of goodies that could barely fit in the bowl. I asked for half and half tea with lots of lemon. Rarely do I get more than one lemon slice. I got four!! Yay me! Our waitress was most helpful and cheerful. We LOVE this place!!! Don't miss it!

Ordered the 8oz filet for pickup last night. Walking in to pick up my food and loved the atmosphere, I wished I would have been able to sit and eat but I didn’t have time. The filet temperature was correct and the side dishes were beautiful. Priced appropriately, very friendly service, just all over a lovely experience. Highly recommend.

An absolutely delicious salad in the charming view of Van Gogh's portrait in his football years.

Might be the most consistent restaurant in auburn, good food and service is always top notch. Real cool environment also, it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside but once you go in the restaurant is actually very big and new. The tuna w fried rice and broccolini is my go to every time. Side note they probably shouldn't have expanded the new one in North Auburn is really bad. Been 3 times and every experience has been terrible. Worth the drive to go to original going forward .

The food at dinner was excellent! Great choices all around from starters to entrees. The scallops and lobster risotto was wonderful as was the fried chicken with lobster Mac and delicious collards!! Our server was top shelf!!!
