Best ceviche I have ever had - and I’m from a costal state where it’s very popular. The atmosphere was great and our waiter was awesome! I had the Masa Custed Trout - 10 out of 10!! My son had Barbaccoa quesadilla, it was great too! Little one had a bacon quesadilla he ate ALL of it shocking for put 9 yo! Seriously though, go! You won’t regret it!!

We went for dinner on a Saturday. Go early, this place is so so popular! They don't take reservations. Food was excellent, plantains and salsa for apps. Veggie enchilada and Masa encrusted trout for mains and trestle leches for dessert. Ambiance, tasty food and attentive servers!!! Bianca was great!!

El Barrio - Downtown Birmingham is a consistently excellent restaurant. The food is amazing, with proper portions, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation. Dishes like the margaritas, plantain nachos, Civeche, Adobe chicken, meatloaf, and chicken quesadilla are off the charts. The service is outstanding; staff are welcoming, attentive, and very helpful. Servers are knowledgeable at pairing the perfect drink with a dish. The booking is smooth and warm, and the staff throughout are attentive without being intrusive. The bill is very fair for the quality. This is the best Mexican food and a new favourite for proper occasions. Highly recommend without reservation.
