“I was a Thomas’ groupie for years. Every Tues and Thurs - large rib plate. Heard this was some of the OGs on the pit and drove from Nashville to see for myself. Hallelujah! ? ?! Same ribs, same pulled pork. same sauce. Should call to make sure they are open. If you loved Thomas’ you gotta go.“
“I really may not be the right person for this review, as I went to the drive- through. But the people there were friendly, and my order was ready very quickly. And the food was really good. I would recommend this place.Parking: They share an independent parking lot with Sure Save Pharmacy. Good size paved lot.“
“If you have not yet tried Big John’s catfish, Fried Pablo’s pickles or classic bbq sandwich let me share why you should… This catfish is like no other, moist and tender inside and perfectly crispy outside! And the flavor!!! Seriously perfect!! The Pablo’s fried pickles are a perfect compliment, sweet and spicy deliciousness!!! And the outdoor (or indoor) dining rounds out an amazing dinner and evening! Big John’s is a regular go-to for me!“
“Tastes like home cooked, Sunday lunch after church. We ordered the chicken and shrimp alfredo, grilled pork chop, and fried catfish. All were great but highly recommend the catfish! Oh, and my husband said the stuffing tastes like his Grandma's when she made it from scratch. I agree. Very satisfying.“
“Stopped by for the first time, had the brisket and it was excellent. The customer service was seriously top notch as well. They were so nice and you can tell they really care about the business. I also wanted to mention that the sides we picked (Mac & Cheese and Rice) were both really good too. Much better than side items typically are at most restaurants. We will be back!“
“I have lived in Alabama for about two years now the bbq has been just not up to what I’m used to ( white sauce , Cole slaw , bbq sauce, dried out meat you have to drown in sauce to eat ) just saying not a fan. Well moved to Madison and tried this place hands down the best bbq so far in the area.Tastes just like down home bbq southern style. Have to try more but this place rocks.“
“Service was very pleasant if not a bit slow. The food was good, but could be made better with a bit more explanation. For example some specialty restaurants will ask if you've been there before and assist you with the menu and food styles. This could have made our experience here much better.“
“My 1st time, it was good. Wasn't expecting the slaw to be cold on the slaw dog. The bread was stale, but nothing 20 seconds in the microwave couldn't help. After heating it up, I stopped eating my loaded potato to eat it. The potato was very good, I had to save it for later, and it was even better! Will definitely be back!!“
“Had Brie as our server tonight and she was absolutely amazing! Extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. I’m in the service industry so I know what it’s like to run around on a crazy busy Friday night and she handled it with grace. Couldn’t have asked for better service!“
“On my last visit to Jim and Nicks my husband and I sat at the bar and ordered wings as an appetizer - they were excellent. We enjoyed talking with the bartender and found the service to be great. The restaurant is so nice, we decided to return the next evening for wings again! Love the new look both inside and outside on the patio.“
“I am generally not one to eat at gas stations. I have nothing against them, it is just that they aren't part of my normal pattern for eating. New Orleans Lunchbox is the only one to get into my lunch rotation list. And I am told everything is good there, but I have never gotten past the Jambalaya. The first time I went I bought a quart because I was in a hurry and have never gotten past it on the menu because it is so good. It is thick with a variety of meats and some heat that gives it a little kick without any tears or need for buttermilk to sooth the burn. These people make a tasty mix for Jambalaya. It is at Holmes and Jordan which is easy access from Redstone or Research park and they do have some seating, but I always get mine to go and eat it on teleconferences. Great stuff. Great people. Definitely worth the stop.“
“This is your classic hole in the wall BBQ place. There is nothing fancy about it and there doesn't need to be! If you are in the harvest area, give it a try! It will not disappoint you! Priced well with no frills. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming. All in all, a good experience!I got a BBQ sandwich plate with fries and Mac and cheese. Very good! Sometimes a classic BBQ sandwich just hits good! The fries were fresh and perfect! The Mac and cheese was ok but it's just not my style of Mac and cheese. Nothing against it! My partner got the leg quarter plate with baked beans and potato salad. She said those were some of the best baked beans she's had. The chicken was fall off the bone and flavorful. The tea and lemonade were perfect.I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!Parking: There is a parking lot in the front of the building.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp that leads up to the building.“
