“This is one of our favorite places. Everyone in this restaurant from the waitstaff to the management is personable and express such kindness to each guest. The food is a blend of haute cuisine and comfort classics that leave you satisfied but also excite the palette. In addition this is a gem for vegetarian guests or those with food sensitivities. Treat yourself with this immersive dinning experience right in the heart of Birmingham.“
“Hey there, cocktail connoisseurs! Let's raise a glass to my recent escapade at Adios, where the libations flowed and the vibes were on point. Starting off with the drinks, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned didn't quite hit the mark for me. Lacking that bold Mezcal punch I was craving, it fell a bit on the lighter side. However, the Mexican Firing Squad was a delightful twist on a classic margarita, hitting all the right notes. And let's not forget the Ranch Water - light, refreshing, and a hit with the wife. As for the experience, it was top-notch. The staff were absolute champs, handling our rowdy group with ease and adding to the overall fun factor of the evening. Ambience-wise, think normal lighting with a light-colored interior, but the real star was the impressive ofrenda that added a touch of authenticity to the space. Now, onto the ending thoughts. Here's the deal - Adios keeps things interesting by rotating out their house cocktails regularly. While it's cool to try new concoctions, it's a bit of a bummer if you find your new favorite and it disappears. Nevertheless, with their stellar cocktails and upbeat atmosphere, I'll definitely be making a return trip. Cheers to that!“

The eclectic decor, adds to the restaurant's unique charm.Whether you're seated indoors amidst the lively chatter or outside on the cozy patio among the twinkling lights, every corner exudes an air of creativity. From the moment I was greeted by the friendly host, to the impeccable service at the bar, the team at Juniper went above and beyond to ensure that I had a memorable dining experience.Presented with an artistic flair that mirrors the restaurant's aesthetic, each skewer was a work of culinary art.The chicken is tender and succulent, perfectly grilled to achieve a delightful charred exterior while retaining its juicy goodness within. The Thai peanut sauce truly elevated this dish to new heights. “If you love high-quality, amazing food and enjoy Southern cuisine, I cannot recommend this place enough. The culinary attention to detail in every dish is truly outstanding. Do not be deceived by the humbleness of the menu; every single dish is deceptive in its simplicity. When you take a bite you experience multiple dimensions of flavor. We had several dishes and all of them were amazing. I also had the best piece of chicken I have ever had in my life… and that is saying a lot. I only wish I was a local, because I would be there at least once a week!“
“We went here on a whim after going to a friend’s wedding shower at Pepper place and we were so glad that we decided to stay out! This bar is super cute and has a great vibe. The drink menu routinely rotates to be themed around a different part of the world. When we went, the theme was “Arabian Nights” and the drinks we had were amazing. We were tempted to get something to eat from their food truck, but after just having eaten at the shower we decided against it. We WILL be back to try drinks from the next menu and to try their food! Don’t skip out on this trendy and gay-friendly new bar!“
“Special thanks to The Margaret for welcoming The Whiskey Women of Alabama last night for our March Monthly Meet Up. We really enjoyed the beautiful, but laid back atmosphere. The staff were so friendly, and we were honored to spend some time with one of the co-owners, Theresa Holloway Cottrell. We will definitely visit again“
“Cool place to hang in the area. I figure it probably gets pretty packed on weekend nights, predominantly by locals, so get in a bit earlier than you might anywhere else as it's a bit *cozy* (not "Jack Brown's" cozy, maybe "The Margaret" or inner "Marble Ring" cozy). Great drinks, excellent atmosphere!“
“This is my favorite restaurant. Visited last night for our anniversary, but have been many times. Service is always excellent, food is amazing, bartenders are on point. When we arrived there was a short wait for a table. So, we headed out to the patio, and grabbed a couple of cocktails from the outside window, a dirty mel'tini, and a brown butter old fashioned, amazing. And cocktails are even better when served by quite possibly the friendliest bartender around. Plenty of heaters, and tables available, it was a cold night. Nice string lights, a great place for pre-meal conversation. Once seated we started with a dozen raw oysters, 6 Bayou La Batre, 6 Murder Point. They were fresh, cold and delicious. Then we had our usuals, chicken francese, and beef carpaccio, both excellent, as always. Ended dinner with the vanilla creme brûlée. I almost forgot, the bread that comes to your table is so good, has just enough rosemary, it's warm, soft, and delectable. We will be back again, and probably very soon.“
“UPDATE 2/18/24: I've been to Umami at least 20 times since my first review, and have never had a meal I consider less than excellent. The sushi is creative and tasty, the ramen is very good and service is consistently fast and friendly. I've had lots of dishes and the food does not disappoint. The cocktails are very good too. One of our favorite restaurants, and I'm so happy they're open in Trussville too. Enthusiastically recommend! ?????Very tasty sushi. Eclectic menu; we really liked everything we tasted. Service was very good too.“
“So so neat and unique! Definitely a quirky place but everyone's extremely friendly and helpful. I feel like they really love their job. The womb room is a must see if it's available. Just ask your server or bartender to see it. Drinks were pricey and small. Will return!“
“Food is consistently good. The brisket is always fantastic. The service can be a little hit or miss, but never terrible. Parking can be difficult at busy times but it’s in a pretty happening area. Margaritas are fresh squeezed and not made with a mix so they’re pretty tasty. Nice patio area when the weather is nice.“
“I just moved here and me and my wife wanted to try something new to us in the area and we came here. We were greeted quickly and seated right away. They took our drink order and brought us chips and salsa with the drinks. We ordered a cheese dip and it came out instantly. Placed our order, my wife got the pick 2, she chose the chicken quesadilla and a chile relleno, which came with rice and beans. I got the Quesabirria (birria quesadilla,) both entrees came out quickly and were very good. I would go back.“
“My favorite restaurant over in Crestline! The interior is gorgeous and the staff is incredible. The bar is great and the pizzas are amazing obviously but don't sleep on the appetizers, I always get the baked gulf shrimp whenever I'm in!“
“I love this place! The food and the staff are the perfect combination for a great experience. Jess does an amazing job managing her staff and it shows in the friendly service my husband and I receive every time we go. It's the little things that mean alot!“
“What an amazing experience. Flat bread was absolutely phenomenal. The pizza was just like how I’ve had in Italy with authentic ingredients. Tiramisu was good as well! Absolutely love this place. Server was extremely busy so I get it if there are some complaints of slow service, but we had a great time here.“
“Stop thinking about it and just do it. This place is AMAZING! Family owned and it is spectacular. I’ve never had such a good meal. The drinks were perfect, large portioned meals, extremely friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 Marcus was the best bartender we’ve ever had and he was so kind. Can’t wait to come back again and try the rest of the menu!“
“My 1st time visiting here, went with cousins, we all had a great time. It’s very beautiful inside & out back. Totally exceeded my expectations especially in decor. Bartenders were nice but the drinks are very small. I don’t like having to pay average prices for a tiny cup. The music & sound system was excellent! Security had great presence throughout. The later it gets, the younger the crowd gets. I love the pool & beautiful led lights thru out. Spacious.“
“Well to be honest, I haven't technically visit the new Parkside. I did in fact visited the old Parkside one time over 10 yrs ago. Let's just say it wasn't a pleasant visit. However, I am a different person now and by looking at the new version through pics, I wouldn't mind visiting there again!“
“We have gone to Freddy’s many times and always had an amazing experience! The service is always amazing, the wine plentiful, and the food delicious and consistent. We had a party for my husband’s birthday this past weekend and were so impressed by the execution of service. If you want to be truly taken care of, come to Freddy’s!“
“Mayawell has such a great atmosphere with some of the best service. Places being queer friendly and welcoming are two things I look for most often, and this place had both. I was able to enjoy myself and feel safe while doing so. Perfect way to end my “
“Noah at Paper Doll Bar is an absolute gem! His attention to detail is unparalleled, ensuring each drink is crafted to perfection. From start to finish, Noah’s expertise shines through, making every visit a delightful experience. His passion for mixology is evident in every sip, and his friendly demeanor only adds to the fantastic atmosphere. Noah truly elevates the art of bartending, and I can’t recommend him enough! If you’re looking for an unforgettable cocktail experience, Noah at Paper Doll Bar is the place to be.“
“We decided to try this location on tacoTuesday of course heard some great things about it the food is great I had the nachos very tasty and fresh the drinks are a hit as well i recommend the Texas margarita our server was very helpful attentive definitely family environment will be back again soon“
“I had a birthday dinner there and the vibe was very inviting. This was me and my guests first time ever dining in this establishment. The customer service was excellent, the food was delicious, the drinks were top notch. If you're ever in Hoover, AL. You must check them out! Thank you for making my birthday a success! Kayla E. Thank you for your great customer service!“
“I have been hearing from multiple people around me for a while about a breakfast/ brunch place in Cahaba Heights, Biscuit Love so I decided to give it a try. I loved the atmosphere. It was bright and the staff seemed to be very welcoming. I did go during peak brunch time so the wait was a little while but it was not too bad considering the time. Their menu was also pretty big for them to be a brunch place, but that was good! I decided to get a butter biscuit, hash browns, and some orange juice. The biscuit was not as soft as I was expecting it to be but still pretty good. The hashbrowns and orange juice were my favorite part of them. The orange juice was very refreshing. Overall, I would go there again because everyone was very friendly, the atmosphere was great and so was the food!“
“The Marble Ring is a lovely spot. What really makes it incredible is the service provided by Alex. There is no more welcoming and attentive bartender in Birmingham, or anywhere. If you are looking for a memorable experience and the best drinks in town, look no further. You will not be disappointed.“
“My husband and I have dined here many times and love the place, so we decided to invite my brother and sister-in-law to celebrate her birthday. It was just excellent!!First, the restaurant is beyond beautiful with the murals, decor, tiny ceiling lights, etc. We started with cocktails - Paloma (I always order this and it's the best in town), Ranch Water and a tequila neat. We shared the Sol y Luna Sampler, which is guacamole & pico de gallo w/ interesting assortment of chips - so fresh and delicious! For dinner, I ordered the grilled salmon w/ garlic mashed potatoes while my brother got the cantina house salad topped w/ grilled salmon. Both were excellent. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sear on the outside and so moist inside. My husband and SIL shared the Gambas al Ajillo (the cooked garlic in olive oil w/ red pepper is outstanding!), Shrimp Diabla on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes w/ crispy potatoes, and Red Snapper al Mojo de Ajo w/ shrimp and an amazing tomato & onion sauce and all this came with baskets of bread to soak up all those flavors. As you can see from the pictures, each dish was just beautiful. And, each of them tasted amazing (I was lucky enough to get to sample their dishes). The seafood was not overcooked and each tapa was so unique and flavorful. In addition to the delicious drinks and food, the service was excellent. The hostess made her rounds throughout the night to check on customers and our server took great care of us. The owner, Jorge, was also very attentive, periodically checking on us and helping to make my SIL's birthday very special. So, based on this as well as our previous visits, I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. We will be returning soon!!“
“I went here last night for a work event and it’s probably the 4-5th time I’ve been. It’s a hit every time! The drinks are always delicious and well-balanced. The food is a level-up from bar food too. You have to try the sweet potato waffle fries and the jalapeño gochujang wings!!Also, atmosphere is too notch. The bartenders are always so personable and pleasant to talk to. We also love to support any women-owned business and it’s also an LGBTQ+ supportive business. Lumbar is a gem!!“
“This bar is located smack dab in the middle of the Pizitz food hall. It has ample seating, plugs along the perimeter, and the bartenders are cool. I like to come here to co-work since it's an ideal spot to also grab lunch and have meetings. They also have pretty awesome happy hour specials, the margarita is my fav. They also name drinks after loal biz owners sometimes, I loved the Jacqui Jones.“
“First time to dine here. Very busy on Friday night. We were able to get immediate seating at the bar. The bartender was fantastic! He always had a smile on his face! He chatted and made sure we had what we needed without being intrusive. The beef fajita taco salad was delicious and the prices were terrific! We will definitely be coming back!“
