Restaurantji's Owens Cross Roads guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“Food was very good and fresh, portions were good also, more than I could eat. But, nothing special, nothing which made me say, wow, this is great. I can't really explain more than that. I can say the place is decorated really nice though.“
“I got nachos, husband got a burrito. A little pricey even with a 10% off coupon that we received but they have good portion sizes. We ordered a Jaritos but didn’t realize we didn’t receive it until we got home with our food which was a bummer.“
“It's one of the best food trucks around. It's definitely the best Mexican food truck in this area. It's hard to order food because of the language barrier, but i just point at the picture i want. It's a bit loud because of the location sometimes.Parking: It's the gravel lot next to Mapco“
“I ordered through a kiosk and STILL got amazing customer service.I can't make this stuff up. The kiosk had an error, and it actually made my day better because the staff were so friendly and fixed it immediately. Told me to have a "burritoful" day.Definitely the best location I've been to. No contest.Oh, and of course you can't beat the price. Food was cooked perfectly, and it's a really neat location, with indoor and outdoor tables and a variety of seating options (high top, low top, booth, bar-style table).Glen Bell would be proud.“
“Supper with friends, too much laughing to take photos of food. The management and staff were excellent about working with us to address food allergies. They had to make some accommodations and cook some food in a separate skillet but made the mahi-mahi tacos allium free. That was a huge deal and made the service great.“
“We ordered ahead and had take out, and as always it was GREAT! We've been eating here for years, and we have never had any issues. The food is always awesome, the staff are always helpful and friendly. Can't say enough good things about this authentic Mexican food experience!Kid-friendliness: Always willing to modify meals even for the pickiest of eaters.“
“Gluten Free! They don't do a very good job of telling you how great of a job they do.We've lived here for years and can only eat at places that are able to accommodate a gluten allergy. This Taco Mama staff fully understood our concerns and ensured the kitchen staff knew we were ordering for someone with an allergy. My wife is highly sensitive and cannot even walk into a pizza place. Well, she had no issues at all. So, for our celiac friends out there, you can eat here with no fear. Just stress the allergy. Now, onto the food. Mine was only OK. But not the fault of the staff. I ordered the wrong thing. That item was made very well, just not what I wanted. Again, that was my fault.Everyone loved the food and was talking about wanting to go back before we even made it back to the car.If you haven't eaten here yet, please do so soon. These folks deserve your business.EDIT: Second visit was even better than the first. Margheritas were a little strong but still very good.“
“Been to this restaurant several times and always had a good time and a great meal. The food is always tasty and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The owner, Alex I believe, always comes by to make sure everything is good and say hello. The atmosphere is great with live music and a vibrant vibe. Would recommend trying the fajitas and nachos, always delicious and great portions for the price.“
“A very tasty excursion to the hinterlands of Jackson County, Alabama where we were all suddenly hungry and just whimsically popped in to this surprising Mexican gem on highway 72. The owners are actively involved in the business and it shows. The service is excellent and the decor is distinctly Mexicana. And we all decided that the food was actually closer to authentic Mexican than the cheese sauce laden affront to beautiful Mexican fare that we call Ameri-Mex. We like to eat local and support local businesses and this place fits the bill. We normally drive by on our way to or from Huntsville and the parking lot is usually full. That's usually, but not always, a good sign so we thought we'd judge for ourselves and this place exceeded our expectations.“
“Superb quality Mexican food. We have enjoyed all the entrees we have tried in our multiple visits since moving to the area only about 3 months ago. Quantity is typically more than we can eat. Side dishes compliment the entrees very well and are also very tasty. Service was excellent and tended to our needs quite well. They had plenty of staff to serve a very busy restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant, bordering on festive. We felt like we were experiencing a bit of old Mexico in this place. It is our "go to" Mexican restaurant in our area (and there are many to choose from).“
