Take a look at our favorite Vestavia Hills Mexican restaurants.
“Taco Mama is always a treat. First time at this location, placed a to-go order that was out in no time, the food was delicious AND the $5 coupon I had just used was back in my bag!!! Thank you Taco Mama Dietary restrictions: Good option for gluten free and vegan“
“Grand Cantina hits the marks. It's a nice sized restaurant with more seating than you might expect It offers two dining areas, a full bar and can certainly accommodate large parties. Ambiance is fine. Not a traditional style for a Mexican restaurant but is bright and clean. Service here was friendly and staff were willing to accommodate the requests that we had without any issue. The menu is large with a lot of traditional entrees to choose from. For an appetizer we had queso with beef - really good. Much bigger than expected, I would definitely order this again. The staff brought a big basket of chips which was great as we didn't run out while enjoying our appetizer. Each person at our table was brought their own bowl of salsa and they provided a bowl for each person for the queso. Little differences like this made the dining experience better - I appreciated it. Entrees were very good. Served with rice and beans which were "typical" but the entrees themselves were loaded with meat and had great flavor. Prices here are very reasonable and I thought a great value for the quantity provided. Overall a satisfying dining experience on all fronts and I would not hesitate to recommended to anyone looking for American-Mexican food.“
“Ate here with some coworkers, so I'll forgive them for getting my order wrong. The food was pretty good, and the drinks are what you expect. I got their lime margarita during happy hour for a decent price, and I wasn't disappointed. Next time, I'll have to try the strawberry one! ?Parking: Tecate Bar and Grill shares a parking plaza with other businesses nearby.“
“Picked up lunch to go. Left previous review and need add a detail or two. Chicken tortilla soup was excellent. Could have had a little more steak ?on my steak quesadilla but make no mistake, it was still tasty. As a business owner, I want to know that people feel like they are getting good value for their money. El ZunZun owner answered my review literally in 15 min. On the weekend. THAT is being on top of things. I guess I tend to leave reviews about places I really care about and this is one of them. Food here is consistently good and flavorful and my family loves it.“
“Wife and I are on the hunt for some cheap, greasy Tex-Mex in the Vestavia/Hoover area. Up until now we've had to go to Los Amigos in Lakeview which is too far away (and prices are hiking up).Los Rancheros food was delicious, possibly some of the best we've had recently. Quesadillas were very good and my wife enjoyed her fajitas thoroughly. Chips and salsa are free but are nothing special. And the Margaritas we had were good too (not too tart).I have a couple of complaints though, for the weary diner:1) this place seems like a Vestavia staple, meaning at 7pm on a weekday, the place got FILLED with families and little kids, seemingly out of nowhere, and the kids kind of sucked any remaining atmosphere out of the place.2) we were not told ahead of time, but they charge a fee for paying with a credit card. They also charge a liquor tax (which may be Vestavia ordinance, not sure). Our bill came out with an extra $10 that we were not expecting.“
“Service was excellent. Great family place with fun decor. But the food was mediocre, and the margaritas were super weak. The mole chicken was just flavorless cooked chicken with mole sauce poured over just before serving. The fajitas had almost no vegetables, just meats. Lots of people like it, but it's not for me.“
