“We had a late lunch, the staff was nice. We had calamari & bruschetta appetizers, which were perfect. Our food looked & tasted delicious. spinach ravioli, 3 meat ball spaghetti & another pasta dish. Save room for dessert, we had this chocolate sponge cake ball on a plate of powdered sugar drizzled with warm chocolate & lemoncello. It was light & fluffy & just the right amount of sweetness. Would definitely go back again & I hear they'll be building one in Mesa this year!“

“I have been here so many times and I didn’t realize I never left a review! I love love love this restaurant! The staff is always nice. I usually call my order in when I’m driving home from work and run in and pick it up. It’s always correct. Perfect each time: hot and fresh. Prices are very fair. I love getting plain or shrimp pho and the egg rolls.“

“We were seated outside around 3-5pm, sunny but some flies were flying around. Waitress was polite, attended to our order, but did not charge appropriate prices. Food orders were done as requested, however pork belly tacos were 15% meat and the rest was pig fat/grease that did not taste great cold. “The cornbread is amazing. It was the best part of my meal. You should order the cornbread if you go here. The sauce was pretty good. The staff was attentive. The meat was a little dry. I wish the outdoor dining area was open because the booth was a little bit small for 4 people. It was a nice day so I would have enjoyed my food more if I was able to eat outside.“

“This fairly new edition and well received in the neighborhood has shown to be consistent in their food choices, service, attention to detail, as well as clean and comfortable. In our quite few visits so far, we enjoyed: Arnold Palmers; Iced Teas; a superb cheeseburger salad; a fabulous rendition of a personal fave California Bacon Benedict in a split English Muffin, thick-cut hickory and applewood smoked bacon, avocado, spinach, grilled tomato slices with poached eggs covered in Hollandaise sauce with fruit side ; PWF Bear’s Choice; Orange Juice; Tomato Juice; a Black Bear Special of breaded deep-fried Chicken Fried Steak smothered in country gravy, scrambled eggs, country red potatoes with a varied fruits side… and so much more. We’re happy the neighborhood has a great diner locally. Highly recommended for a great variety of family-friendly foods, environment and cleanliness. Kudos Black Bear! Add on: As a regular patron of this specific Big Bear Diner location, we’re lucky to have them in the ‘hood. With the exception with their extremely busy hours (the lines can be an hour or more long) the meals are consistent, offerings generous, taste delish, atmosphere terrific and the service has always been fab! We’ve enjoyed on many occasions their Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus. Whether the Big Foot Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs to a really, really good Omelets or a variety of terrific Benedicts, incredible lunch sandwiches like their array of Specialty Burgers to Patty Melts or Club sandwiches, and a tasty Meatloaf, the Tri-Tips or Pot Roast, you can’t go wrong – not to mention their moderate prices. “I love this place...I grew up on Pete's (southside), and I still love it there, but when you need fish &chips in the Laveen area, Mandy's is the number #1 place to go. Mandys has the best fish sandwich..the staff is attentive and very pleasant. You'll love anything from the menu. We always get something new.
