(2) Crab Cakes: Plump and fresh. I usually avoid seafood when not by the sea, but this proves that some desert spots still keep their seafood fare on point. (3) The Original Chopped Salad: It is large enough split and the ingredients/textures all balance wonderfully.Dessert: Banana Foster Bread Pudding - Disappointing. It was dense and lacked really any banana nuance. And it's extremely large for a dessert. I prefer simple and small for sweet bites with actual distinct flavor.Overall, I would absolutely return for their starters and mains. I would skip dessert and keep my drink simple (a gin fizz is not complicated, though) or perhaps just order from their cocktail list to ensure accurate delivery requirements. Walking around Old Town Scottsdale, we stumbled upon Karsen's, and while looking at the menu outside, a patron said, "This is our first time here, but the food is excellent." So, we went in. She was right!! I got the salmon Caesar salad-they 86'd the blackened for me, and my husband got the shrimp tacos, also minus the blackened. Excellent food, fabulous friendly servers! I pretty much ordered the same thing I got the first time at the Tempe location. The cheesy garlic bread is actually just a sub roll, split with garlic and cheese, as basic as it is it's great. The right amount of garlic and cheese and the roll is crispy but still fluffy.The pizza seemed crispier than the other store, but same amazing amount of toppings. Normally when I order basil on a pizza I get a little bit, but Crust Brothers piles that basil on and it's amazing!My fiance ordered a wedge side salad but asked to sub the gorgonzola for parmesan and they were happy to oblige. Bigger than we expected but she said it was really good, especially the parmesan ranch dressing.There's a lot of options for pizza and it's really hard to screw up pizza, but there aren't many places that make you want to drive 45 minutes from the West valley just to get it, this place is one of them. We were absolutely impressed by everything, especially the kindness and exceptional customer service. I am kicking myself for not remembering her name, but the girl that helped us was absolutely amazing - - she had dark curly hair and said she came up with the margarita recipe! She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. On to the food: When we pulled up, we were a little thrown as we didn't realize it was a 'fast food/drive thru' type restaurant. Please don't let that deter you! Everything was so delicious. My boyfriend got the triple threat as he LOVES spicy food - - - and he was not disappointed... He even had a bit of sweat from it! The tater tots were the best he's ever had and will not stop talking about them. The fries look unassuming, but we're delicious! I had the sandwich with the bacon onion Jame and BBQ sauce. I asked for the sauce on the side, as I'm not much of a BBQ sauce fan generally. It was soooo tasty! We also tried the shaved Brussel sprout salad and it was delectable. We topped everything off with a frozen margarita and pain killer. The decor was cute and inviting and a bonus was the ingredients were fresh and natural! They even have an absinthe cart. I will say the wine list could use some work, but the cocktails make up for it. Since the food is done by Hush next door, you know it's going to be good. Everything is super flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The popover with cacio e pepe butter is like crack. Also recommend the pate en croute and duck leg confit. At one point the staff opened the door so the music could be heard outside. I also learned that live music is available I believe they said Wednesday-Saturday. It's hard nowadays to find live music and there is nothing like live music. I ordered the chicken salad wrap with light dressing with a side salad. It tasted fresh and light for a hot summer night. We stayed until closing and I never felt rushed. The waitress was attentive but not intrusive. I wish I could remember her name as she deserves recognition. There many options for wine to select from. I will definitely be back. It is a hidden gem tucked away in a shopping center. You could miss it as it is in a large parking lot in the corner so take your time looking for it. Also there is a lot of parking which can be tricky to find parking at places in Scottsdale, especially if you are looking in old-town scottsdale. Not having to get aggravated looking for parking is a huge plus for me.“
