The smells were heavenly as we entered and we weren’t disappointed from our hostess to our waiter Chris our service was Outstanding!!! Chris was friendly and professional and we were impressed with how attentive he was and observant as after our Delicious meal when he brought our check he looked at my husband and stated that he had given him a military discount before my husband had even asked if they do military discounts. Chris had noticed my husbands retired Air Force hat he had on and we were pleasantly surprised that he had already observed that he was retired military and had discounted out bill. “I have only been here once and it was okay-tasting. I got the beef/chicken combo. Came with steamed rice, veggies, and macaroni salad. The only part I didn't care for was the macaroni salad- had an off taste to it. To me, it didn't taste like an authentic Hawaiian macaroni salad like I've had in Hawaii. “Rudys is generally a really good BBQ place. They have a good sauce and good meats and sides. Every once in a while the moist brisket isn't quite as melt in your mouth as a moist brisket should be. Normally it's good but even so often they don't get it quite right which is why I only have 4 stars in the food. Besides the occasional brisket being a little off everything else has always been good. I also use their rub and BBQ sauce on a lot of my own cooks because they're really good. I do recommend rudys if you haven't had it before.“

“Alright I have had this place on my list of places to go for a long time, for the simple fact that I knew someone that you used to work here that runs their own business and makes great food. The Haymaker does not disappoint. Great vibe, feel, ambience, food, inside and outside seating, and air conditioning. Do not laugh on the last one as that is a big thing in Arizona and not all places have good air circulation/conditioning. First off, we had Mimosa flights and they were just right. Not overly sweet or too hard on the champagne, good balance, I highly recommend the flight of mimosas. They warm you up and make you cheerful and ready to eat. The first flight was white peach, mango, strawberry and pomegranate. My girl ordered the pulled pork brisket skillet and it was unique and very flavorful. Cannot go wrong with barbecue anything. I had the traditional fair of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a side pancake but it was done very well. You have to eat the pancake hot with the butter and syrup running all over the plate. Simply the best!!! I have to get two next time. The last flight of mimosas were prickly pear, elderflower, passion fruit, and huckleberry. Our favorites were huckleberry, prickly pear, and elderflower. Our server was Rosemary and she was very helpful with food, drinks, and questions we had about her distinctive glasses. Good conversation. I know this review was a little wordy but I enjoyed my visit and will be going back to try the ribs one day soon. Haymaker will be added to one of my regular rotations of places to dine.“

“My boyfriend and I went here for a romantic dinner. He was really excited to share the experience with me. The menu indicates all you can eat. After the meal we were told there was an additional add-on fee because we had an eaten everything on our plates. There is nothing on the menu that indicated that there would be this additional charge per person, when we asked to take the additional food home, we were told no we would only be charged with it, but couldn’t take it home. It is a very poor customer experience with hidden cost, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend the head manager basically cursed us out the door because we asked questions about this added fee, I definitely do not recommend and will not be going back“

“I was traveling for work, and I thought I would give it a try. I looked at the menu, and everything was very inexpensive, so I didn't have high expectations. Boy, was I surprised! When you get something better than the menu picture at a restaurant that's like never ever anymore, you are shocked! First, the butter rolls. I've seen memes of such things and never understood it. But I quickly learned real fast it's no joke! I ate all 4, and I wasn't even hungry, really because I had a nice breakfast. Didn't even get to the complementary peanut either. But the bake potatoes are the best I've ever had and I ate at a lot of fine restaurants. The steaks and all the fixings on top that came bigger than advertised. It was delicious and perfect, and when you factor in, it's only 1/4 of what you'd normally paid for at a fine dinner it really adds to the value and experience. Even if you take put the cost, it can hold its own and even top most Steakhouse. Friendly staff they are wonderful and kind. I went in for a local dinner experience and came out dumbfounded at the value and quality. I had a great time and really enjoyed everything I ate there.“

Then onto main course which of course was steaks, we had large sirloin steak (16oz) and two of us had the New York steak and rib combo with the usual trimmings on our baked potatoes. As for the food itself, it receives a solid 6; however, there was a noticeable shortage of sauce for each dish, as the meat was already coated in sauce before being served. “Well I've been coming here for a few years now and can honestly say Authenticos sticks out amongst the greats! 1st off he uses arrachera (skirt steak) which is rare around the valley. It's mesquite smoked on wood so it reminds you if that family backyard BBQ asada. His pastor is also mesquite smoked and it's just as good as the asada in my opinion. He also has a wide variety of toppings like grilled onions, pico de gallo and nopales to name a few. As well I cant think of any other taquero I've been to that has fresher toppings. Also a protip if your ordering for delivery/take home, ask for toppings on the side u can steam Tacos in the micro (closed container) and add everything nice and fresh!“
