“If you're hungry and love tacos, you're in luck. Santa Madre serves up tasty tacos and they do it with a smile. Be warned, the restaurant is small and the clientele knows how good the food is. So, finding seating can be a challenge. The carne asada tacos are favorites of mine. If I'm in a grab-and-go mode, it's the burrito version for me with a healthy squirt of the chipotle sauce to heat up the tongue. Their al pastor is amazing and some best I’ve eaten - it has the right balance of heat and sweet. One of the things I appreciate is the fresh condiments bar, especially their smokey chipotle sauce. They have a nice variety of toppings, including: cabbage, cilantro and onions, cucumbers, pickled onions, coleslaw, and jalapeños. They also had a balanced selection of salsas and other sauces. The chipotle is a "must-try." I like to pour it on top of the coleslaw you put on the tacos. Their rice and beans are not just something to take up space. They are simply good eats.Nothing is hidden from the customer. Everything is cooked on the griddle to order, right where you can see what's going on. The only thing to remember is they close early at 8:00 pm. So if you want a late night snack or dinner, you're out of luck. The place is not fancy. However, Santa Madre is the perfect example that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. You get a great meal at a good price, with excellent service, from very nice folks. Well done.“
“OMG, the food I ordered from Nedus Kitchen was huge, 100%delicious one of the best Nigerian meals I've had outside Nigeria. The portion size reminded me of Jevnik, a plate can feed 2 persons. The food was great, very spicy too. This is a great place to order and have a taste of Nigeria. Anytime I'm back in Arizona I will be there to order.“
“I bought Menudo, Pozole and a Barbacoa burrito. Generous portions of food. my food was piping HOT so I ate a lil bit and took the rest home. The Menudo was delicious only thing I would do differently next time is not so much red sauce in it. The meat in the Menudo and Pozole was tender and both seasoned well. The grill bread was also delicious too. I will be back to try the shaved ice next time. Aurea thank you!!“
“They changed the menu and got rid of enchilada sauce! I've been getting a burrito smothered in sauce from this place 3X a week for years! What the hell is a Mexican restaurant without enchiladas!? If I just want a normal chicken burrito I can go to any of the other 4 Mexican restaurants within 2 blocks of this place, some of them are cheaper!I'm disappointed in corporates choice to change the menu and I hope this review makes it to them cause I love this place but they may have just lost a regular who's also a business owner on Mill who used to refer my customers to this place! Why bother now?“
“Best Tacos in town. The staff is very friendly Nice and polite. The adobada tacos are amazing ?. If they make a mistake with your order they'll fix it immediately. Very close to ASU campus. My favorite tacos are the barbacoa tacos so flavorful. Gracias Amigos.see you Taco Tuesday.“
“Ever since I started a new job in Tempe, I have been coming to this place weekly. The breakfast burritos are amazinggggg, call ahead and food is ready by the time I drive 5 minutes to the place. Not to mention the service is a 10/10. Wonderful place, wonderful food !“
“My food was amazing I had 3 tacos and a carne asada quesadilla, the tacos were pastor, surf and turf, and asada. The service was amazing and the staff was great ! I will be back soon! Mary and Maria were amazing upfront ! Great front of the house “
“Do you like tacos? Do you like DELICIOUS tacos? Then you have to check out Salt Tacos! We paid them a visit last night. We ordered the Toritos (so good), a quesadilla w/ carne asada and avocado and then some fish, carne asada, shrimp, pork and discada tacos. Not only was all the food absolutely delicious, the tacos are packed! And then to finish off the delicious meal, we had their Flan and a slice of the Tres Leches cake which were amazing. This is a family owned business and everything is homemade. They visit different businesses during the week, so follow their page to stay up to date to where they will be next.“
“i loved everything about this place. went here for the first time with my friend to drink and the bartenders were so nice and the drinks tasted so fruity and delicious!! (: haven’t tried the food yet but im definitely going back soon. xoxo “
“Wow! So glad I decided to come here for lunch! They were so friendly and quick. And the food was amazing--we got the Sun Devil roll and El Jefe roll, and the four chicken street tacos. They were soo delicious. The food was simple and unique (only a few ingredients), but still tasted so good (I could have eaten just the chicken by itself from the tacos). Plus, all the staff members (the boss, or el jefe, included) approached us and asked how we were doing. Definitely coming here again soon!“
“First visit. The food was very good and the workers were friendly. Very good vibe/atmosphere inside. The huge beef bean and cheese burrito was absolutely delicious...full of flavor, hot, juicy, fresh contents, and I liked how the tortilla was soft. The fish taco was very good also but wish there was .ore fish on it. And they're very generous on salsa. Included like 2 of each in the bag, and you can help yourself to the salsa bar with little to-go cups. Definitely coming back and hope next visits are just as good.“
“We always passed by this spot when getting Vietnamese food next door. It's primarily a meat shop with some convenience store items but they also have a lot of hot food to order! We got the four taco special (comes with a free drink) and a burrito. The tacos were delicious, street tacos with two layers of tortilla, meat, cilantro, onions, and sauce. Flavorful and one of the better taco spots I've been to. Husband enjoyed his burrito. They do take apple pay which is nice and convenient. You pay at the cashier by the door of the market and take a ticket to the back so they can prep your order. There are a couple tables in the back if you want to eat there, but we took it to go. We'll def return during our next taco craving! Unfortunately they ran out of al pastor when we got there around 12:30pm on a Saturday. Wish they also had free chips and salsa but that's fine since they aren't an actual restaurant or taqueria.“
“I don't know why this place is not packed This is hands down the most fire authentic Mexican street taco place in Tempe. I personally like to get the carne asada quesadilla because they load it with meat and cheese. The guac is handmade and the salsa is actually hot not like those other places that claim it's hot.“
