Excellent dinner and excellent server :-)
The calamari was excellent! My Braised Short Ribs on Mushroom Risotto had two problems: Although the meat was tasty, it was NOT short ribs but rather some other sort of beef (Chuck?). This seems common in restaurants as the price of short ribs has climbed. And the mushroom risotto was flavorful but barely above room temperature. They need to heat the plates. The service is great, with attentive and friendly staff who know the menu well, although there have been some mixed experiences with wait times and bread service. The food remains fantastic, featuring excellent presentation and delicious dishes like the Italian donuts, White Truffle Garlic Bread, and New Italian Spritz. The ambiance is welcoming and chic, making it a great place to enjoy brunch or dinner with friends. Many guests have found it to be a gem, with one couple even celebrating a special proposal there, thanks to the outstanding service from Emma and the help of managers Zoey and Chase. While some dishes, like the rigatoni bolognese, can be lukewarm, others are consistently flavorful and well-portioned. Overall, North Italia delivers a standout Italian dining experience and has redefined what excellent service looks like.
