Great sushi every time. I was here a few years ago, and glad I came back. Excellent sushi. Been here twice this week, and will keep coming back. Yesterday, was dine in, today is take away. This place does get slammed, so be prepared to wait. If you get in, or can order right away, make sure you take advantage.
I lived on Bowen for several years, and the enduring highlight of my time on the island was frequenting John's magnificent restaurant. We were well acquainted with Sushi before moving to the island, as it was practically a staple when we lived in Vancouver, and John's skills were certainly equal to the standard set in the city. There is a couple of tables, but it's mostly take out. The sushi and sashimi portions are bigger than you'd get in the greater Vancouver area and much tastier as I found the rice filler was not as big and therefore you could taste the rest of the food involved. Also, it was a very friendly place and I really enjoyed what I ordered. I'd go again. I also ordered bowls of food for my friends and they also really enjoyed it. We did take out and I'll go back for more again.
