“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“

“After biking Cowichan Valley trails and trestle bridges we had worked up quite an appetite. Discovering this restaurant was amazing! Wood fire pizza topped with fresh vegetables grown in their garden, the best burger you’ll ever have, and good selection of beverages. Hope to return and try the apple pie! Great service and Views from the patio.“

“Fantastic location, great wine and great service. All in all I would highly recommend a visit. Staff were very friendly and informative. We did a small winery tour and this was definitely the highlight of our day. Easy to get to, not far off the highway and good on-site parking.“

The artful hop selection and creativity behind the different brew styles coupled with the quiet, cozy and unpretentious atmosphere against a backdrop of communal nature really captures the west coast spirit. “We were up in Duncan for the day and decided to stop on here for dinner. It’s a fantastic pub with a great menu and great prices. The place was PACKED but we had no problem finding a seat. They also all dogs on the deck (great in the summer for sure). Food was VERY reasonably priced (unlike pubs in Victoria) so we opted for an appt and two main courses. They also run drink specials every night! Such a great place that this will likely be our stop in when passing through Duncan.“

“My 2 little ones and I just came in here. The man working (presumably the owner) was extremely friendly and sweet to my to my son and daughter. The ice cream from (Foothills Creamery. est 1969) is unbelievably good. I can’t recall having had better ice cream in recent memory and my daughter agrees (son didn’t want any). An overall great experience.“
