“There was some confusion regarding the service. We waited at our table for about 15 to 20 minutes to be waited on by the staff. Other than that, the waitress that did wait on us finally, was attentive and efficient. We enjoyed our tea very much.“

“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“

“It was a wonderful brunch and our server was amazing, I even accidentally knocked over my glass of water and she helped me clean it up right away, told me not to worry about it even though I was extremely embarrassed. Our server was lovely and food was excellent! One of my favourite spots on the island to go!“

“My wife and I love the Cow Bay view from booths, and overall restaurant ambiance, but it is the food that brings us back. Seafood Linguini, and the Katsu Bowl are favourites. In fact, we’ve just done take out orders of 2 Katsu Bowls, 2nd time in a week. This is a most excellent taste sensation, a combination of Thai (peanut & coconut) Japanese (Katsu crispy chicken) and creamy chow mein noodles with veggies. Try It! Yummy!“

“What a fantastic gem located in Shawnigan Lake. This restaurant is worth the drive from Victoria to eat at!It is hard to see from the road, but once you park, the experience begins! They have a large parking area, which is really helpful. You then walk down a few stairs (or can access with a walker / wheelchair via a small road beside the stairs). The views are gorgeous as you approach this lakeside restaurant. The building is beautiful, rustic, and perfectly set up to maximise patrons' views of the water!Staff are lovely, friendly, and attentive! And then, what people really care about - the food! The food was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! Their drinks (mine was non-alcoholic) were so delicious! I loved that they had a decent sized mocktail menu! I love that they have a seasonally changing menu, it means always new things to try!I wish we had room for dessert, but alas, I guess we'll just have to come enjoy it another time!It would be great for a nice night out or a casual meal with kids and friends. Thanks for the fantastic experience!“

“Had lunch for the very first time at Rob’s Lighthouse Eatery yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed my Caesar wrap that Rob prepared exactly to my specs. I could not believe that I was able to purchase two wraps for $24? What an incredible value, not to mention the true blue service by Rob and Heidi. I will be back with all my friends!“

“My husband and I had dinner in the restaurant for our anniversary. All of the food was really superb, the wine was great and the server was lovely! We left nicely full and took some dessert home for later. Just a really nice room and a great vibe. Happy we discovered this place so close to home. We will be back :)“
