“Fathom Lounge located in the Hotel Grand Pacific is a great venue for after dinner relaxation & drinks. We stopped in on our way back to our hotel next door on the coldest night of the year. We arrived just as the DJ started spinning vinyl. The first song was a cover of an 80s tune done with a fusion beat which made us laugh. My companion ordered a Sazerac cocktail, a drink he hadn't tasted in 30+ years and it was to his liking. I asked the bartender for something hot and sweet and although is wasn't on the menu, he delivered a Peppermint Hot Chocolate, with a smile. It was delicious and warmed me up in short order. We enjoyed the tunes and the atmosphere for a couple of hours and after several enjoyable drinks, the one block walk back to our hotel seemed a lot less bone chilling. Next visit, we'll make time to have dinner in the restaurant.“
“Best place to come for brunch, owner is so delightful and entertaining personality. The decor is cool to see. A lot of photos of many who have visited this place to see from over the yrs the food is as so amazing you will not be disappointed. will definitely return next time I am back in Victoria ❤️❤️“
“Visited on a Saturday night. Staff was great to help me reserve for a larger group of 6 people. Our server was lovely and very attentive. We all loved our food, cocktails and some had dessert that was well enjoyed. A tad pricy but I'd say very worth it for a special night out. I had the lamb shank and savoured it and have to say the polenta base that it came on was out of this world...never had anything like that. So good!“
“Sült Pierogi Bar offers a cozy industrial-chic vibe with an eclectic playlist of Motown and '80s hits. By day, natural light floods the space; by night, dimmer lights set a cozy ambiance. Their menu fuses Eastern European tradition with global flavours, featuring classics like the DB-CB and inventive options like the Hulk Smash. Customizable plates, burgers, sausages, and dessert pierogies ensure something for everyone. The service is exceptional, with attentive staff adding to the vibrant atmosphere. We highly recommend Sült“
“Takes longer than you would expect because the food is better than you would expect. We have had desert here twice because it was that good even with all the choices in Victoria. After a few minutes of waiting a gentleman waiting near us overheard us complaining and told us it was worth the wait and he was right!I can't wait to try a full dinner.“
“Best paella I've ever had in my life. Humboldt squid was grilled and so tender. Hummus and grilled pita, cod fritters, steamed clams and mussels and the patatas bravas. Everything was tasty and so well prepared. Slightly zesty, with an amazing medley of flavors. Highly recommend, hope to return.“
“Moxie's made the perfect night and place to celebrate our friend's birthday. Thank you.Parking: There's free parking in marked stalls. Go behind the restaurant to find the lot on Vancouver Street. It was great to have free parking.“
“Amazing selection, great setting, excellent service. The Gnocchi meal was delicious but portion could have been more generous. The deserts selection could be on a tray to visualize it better. We did not order desert, but on our way out saw the selection and probably would have ordered had we seen it. The marshmallows belong in the desert menu. Will definitely be back.“
“The dine around caused some issues with our meal since I was the only one in a party of 6 that got the dine around.I am not sure what happened but I got my first course (appy) at the same time as everyone else got their meal. And then by the time I got my main course, everyone else was finished their meal.So that was a little annoying! However the manager heard my complaint and comp'd the meal. That was truly excellent customer service and I really appreciated that he recognized the awkwardness while I ate my meal and everyone else was done. Also, because of that we ordered an extra bottle of wine so I think it was a win for everyone. So great recovery and this saved the evening. Thanks Cactus Club manger!Oh, and the appy I got (Ravioli) was the most amazing combination of flavour. I could have had a whole meal of that.“
“Been going to part and parcel for a while now! Love the food and the vibe, but have to express my disappointment with the change in both the chicken and broccoli sandwich size. It felt much smaller than the past and now comes with no side. I understand the prices of everything is much higher now but I would rather have paid more for the older version.Still amazing food and a great place to dine, I just likely won’t be making a trip in for those specific dishes anymore :)“
“Fantastic budget meal with a home cooked style. It is 2/3 cost a dennys meal and way less greasy. I dont know why some idiots here complain this isnt some high end fancy meal when this is priced the way it is. You come here for a comfortable home cooked meal at a hreat price, thats what it is.“
“Drake’s offers a cozy ambiance perfect for unwinding after a long day. With a focus on local brews, it's a haven for beer enthusiasts. The laid-back atmosphere encourages friendly conversations, making it an ideal spot to catch up with friends or simply enjoy a quiet night out. This hidden gem promises a memorable experience worth revisiting.“
“Our host/server(James)and staff last night were amazing.Everything you would hope your dining experience should be.James was funny, personable, engaging and accommodating. Food was excellent as well.We will definitely be back???billini's,wine and beer.“
“Really enjoyed our meal and the service! ?? The chef made a special effort to make our wings unique which we appreciated ? Short rib Cannelloni was great with the beef inside. Earl grey martini was tasty as well as the salted caramel bar. Nice atmosphere. Good place to go for a special occasion or date night. Best to reserve here tho. Even on a Monday night it was pretty busy!“
“We had the nacho starter, which was way bigger than we thought it would be in a good way! It was delicious??❤️? next we had 2 rice bowls. I didn’t like the taste of the broccoli the chicken and fries were great though! The Cab-sav was delicious. Our waitress was the best! She was friendly, knowledge and efficient! Would definitely eat here again!“
“Was there for a 60th Birthday upstairs great service appetizers very good selection was provided.Management if you sit by the fireplace the carpet is well worn very lumpy as chairs get hung up and tripping hazard. Besides that minor issue great place to have a private party.“
“The vibe of this place is great, all the furniture and decor looks tasteful. Me and my girlfriend came here at 9:30PM on Monday evening and it was very quiet (maybe around 3 other tables when we walked in). The waiter was very patient and was very nice, didn’t mind us taking more time on the menu and asking question after question. The food was mediocre, the sticky Thai chicken on the happy hour menu was great, the crispy cauliflower is a must get everytime for us, and the Szechuan beef bowl was disappointing with watered down sauce and not a lot of taste. The Bellini is ohhhh so good, the sweet peachy flavour can make me drink buckets of this stuff and not feel the alcohol. Overall, great vibes, decent prices, but maybe avoid the Szechuan Beef Bowl.“
“Browns social house! Don’t let the $11 corona throw you off, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is electric. The staff are professional and friendly and the clientele is elite. Make sure to try out the frozen Bellini and don’t be afraid if Dan comes to your table and starts harassing you, he’s harmless. Overall, I’d definitely go back as soon as possible! But again, $11 for a corona?“
“Nestled in a hotel, it would have been easy to miss walking by but the service and food was amazing. The team behind the restaurant is super friendly and accommodating. Back home and I’m still thinking about this mushroom pasta they have on their lunch menu. 10/10“
“Highly recommend! Food was great, and service was exceptional. The server kindly let us know that she is training another new server, both did a phenomenal job. We even got some small samples of matcha smoothie (was delicious!). Will definitely be going back.“
“Beautiful. Great Sommeliers, cuisine, service, location, and ambience. The tasting menu is awesome if you are open to have an ample variety of ingredients for an adventurous palate. Wine paring is a most for a full experience if you want to try the tasting menu. The place is either for casual fine dining to a special occasion. Breakfast and lunch are available. They look amazing in the publicity, but I haven't tried it yet.“
“First time here and I must say we were very impressed. I heard about it on the radio and brought my wife for the high tea. It was family day so our Son came too, he had pasta I had the Monty Christo and there were too many cakes and savories for my wife to finish. So many choices on the menu we will definitely be back, super friendly staff and the food was awesome.Parking: Street parking on Oak Bay Ave or side streets.“
“I traveled to Victoria for my daughters convocation and finally had the chance to dine at Little Jumbo. It was highly recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. From the wonderful appies to the delicious entrees we were delighted with the quality, service and atmosphere of this little gem. Our server, Travis was friendly and professional. He was easy to speak with and just an overall pleasant individual. Little Jumbo is a winner in my books.“
“Typically my experience with restaurants next to an airport is that they take advantage of the captive audience and get by with subpar food combined with very high costs. But that is not the case at Flying Otter at all. I finally gave them a try because I didn’t have time to go anywhere else, and I found their prices are fair and their food is good. This was a pleasant surprise, and now I’m a repeat customer.Service is also good. Ambience is great, especially the view. Portions are generous. I regret not going to Flying Otter earlier.“
“I came to earls on st Patrick’s day. Earls Victoria is in a busy neighborhood with some irish focused bars.Despite the fierce competition, my expectations were blown out of the water. The manager, Iyla, was incredibly accommodating. Our server (Emma G I think?), was incredible. Food and drinks came out in a timely fashion and everything right perfection. I’ll definitely be coming back. What a great experience! Happy St Patrick’s day to all ☘️. On our way out, another server (Emma B?) made sure to check that we had a great experience. We did! Love it“
“Pricey drinks at the iconic Empress are a must for any tourist, right!?Already had The Empress on my list of places to visit on my one day in Victoria, so I figured why not grab a drink since I assumed there had to be a bar, and thus I found myself at Q.I was already expecting some expensive drinks & the $399 cocktail I saw which I did not order met that expectation. I went with a local beer (Driftwood IPA) while the wife got something a little more fitting the environment, the Empress 75.The IPA was very hoppy, one of the most I've had in awhile so that just makes the beer seem strong, I'm not sure of the actual alcohol content. The cocktail, containing prosecco, was most of what I could taste, but the grapefruit pearls definitely looked (& tasted) nice atop the drink. They also served complimentary Charcoal Popcorn which I'm glad was not stale. The waiter was really nice & attentive. It's a sleek a hotel bar that is more open than a separate closed off room. If you come be sure to ask for a seat by the window so you can have the water view. When I went, what looked like an entrance directly to the bar actually was a sigh directing you on where non hotel guests should enter. So be sure to pay attention to the signs.I don't think I'd come here all the time for drinks if I was a local but it's a good spot for a celebratory drink or something like that.Cheers!“
“:::::::Edit from reviewer::::::::::Not the right location. I visited the one by Park Central, over by the Parliament building. Not this store. Two days in a row and will probably make it our morning routine while here. Good, fresh tasting coffee and not bitter like some chain shops. The muffins are fresh, tasty and filled with flavour. The young lady working today recommended the white chocolate berry scone, it was incredible. Fluffy, warm and just the right amount of sweet. Thank you, I'm sorry I didn't get your name but you made my day today.“
“Right off the main hotel lobby. Did not realize this when I booked. Small. Feels like a fancy sports bar that no one drinks at during the day. The hotels washrooms ,which are across the lobby, have freezing cold water coming out of the taps. We let the water run. It was like an ice Bath for your hands. Awful. For the Marriott I expected at least hot water. The food was tasty. Wouldn't go back due to location and the fact that it's a hotel lobby “place to eat”.“
“LOVED this place! First time here and I will definitely be a regular. The food was creative with a mix of wonderful flavours and fresh ingredients. Service was impeccable. Friendly, professional, made thoughtful suggestions and just inviting. Sat outside to watch the world go by. Highly recommend this “
