Had a delicious strawberry milkshake!?
Place is old school and homey. Very comfortable low lighting and cushioned booths for seating.
Staff are welcoming, personable and non-judgemental.
Don't come if you're gonna be stuck up or posh. The furnishings and customers alike are mostly older and rugged, lots of spirit and character all around. Place is kept clean.

This place is a very historical coffee shop. Although I was a little scared by its environment when I first came there. It was not a very clean dining environment, and there was another lively scene outside when I was eating (people lying outside a bunch of people)

But I would still like to dine here again. I recommend coming in cooler weather because it is very stuffy inside. If you are afraid of the scene outside, you can take the nearest bus, the R5 is very...

wonderful experience! This cafe is turely a piece of Vancouver history. You should come over and talk to the owner Grace, you will be surprised by all the stories and nice people around despite it's located at downtown eastside.
