“We visited again from Sask and did not disappoint! Amazing! Well worth the wait in line! I had the tuna on salad! And my husband had the halibut fish and chips with a side of the chowder. The chowder was his favourite. Still taking about it. The staff were also fantastic. Friendly and very efficient! For the amount of people served and the small space we were amazed at how spotless the kitchen was. Highly recommend a visit here!!“

“I had a wonderful dining experience at this Japanese restaurant. The quality of the ingredients truly stands out—everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. You can really taste the care and attention put into each dish. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Special bravo to Jammy for the excellent service and warm hospitality, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is very pleasant, with a beautiful Japanese-style atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. In terms of pricing, the cost is fair and reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food—it’s not outrageous at all. This restaurant clearly focuses on quality over quantity, so if you’re looking for large portions rather than refined, high-quality dishes, this may not be the place for you. However, if you appreciate fresh ingredients, great flavors, and a lovely atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.“

“This was a repeat eat for us. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here in 2022. This is an easy 5 star recommendation.
Nicky, our server was sensational. Not to take away from here but every person in the restaurant that we passed coming in and leaving the restaurant wished us well.
The views from the deck are some of the best in the city. The location is by the harbor right off Wharf street. Hard to miss seeing right on the corner.
The food selection is amazing. See the menu on their excellent website. They spare no expense online.
The bar area is picturesque. Sorry I failed to take a picture. It is worth exploring on your own. The restaurant has an old fashion yet high end English tavern feel with rich woods and leathers. The dining room feels like many experiences as you walk between sections moving to the patio. The patio looks out into the harbor marina. The view is active with water taxis, water planes, boats and ferries come and go all day. In the evening you see the many lighted buildings and hill silhouettes as night takes hold.
Back to the food! Come hungry as the portions are plentiful. My wife and I shared the fish and chips and walked away full. The description said British settled fish and chips and they were right on. Haddock instead of cod, much better. The chips were the stubby potatoes like the street cafes and pubs in London and surrounding cities.
The beers and other libations seemed limitless. We both had the amber which was a great accompaniment to the fish. We had multiple people taking care of us and Nicky was amazing, thank you.

“.🥲Normally have an ok experience. Today though had the Austin Benny andwas very disappointed. When they state porkbelly and you get shaved roast porkbelly that is not seasoned and because it is thinner than their bacon super chewy and distracts from the other flavours of the dish which are okay. If they rubbed it and braised the belly and cut proper thick slices for porkbelly it would do the oppisite and add to the dish 🥲.“

“Today was our first meal at Dosa Paragon - we will be back for the best Indian food in Victoria. We are glad the server recommended Chicken 65 as it was truly delicious alongside the flavourful chutneys. The chef owner chatted with us about the traditional ways and ingredients they use. Highly recommend the food and friendly service.“

“Wow!! This was my first time here and so so impressed. Small but mighty! The food was delicious and the service fantastic too. Had four teenagers and even they seemed happy. We all loved the food and menu recommendations from the owner. Thank you for a lovely evening out. The food isn't super quick to the table, but hey, this is fresh cooked and it's not simple white spot food. So relax and enjoy the experience. Pretend you are in Thailand.“

“Fantastic!!!! The food was truly amazing and the prices are so reasonable! The bacon was thick and chewy and crispy- just perfect! Of course the biscuits were exceptional and perfectly cut and toasted. I had the egg and bacon Sammy and added tomatoes and avocado. Perfect!!! Group of 6 all raved! A diverse, spread on a theme, and I'm not a gravy fan and it too was delicious. The special steak had homemade dips and stuff, and the vege was it was incredibly complex and yummy looking. I WILL BE BACK!!! The baked goods looked fantastic, but I'm so full!“

“Phillips is a brewery in Victoria. It's easy to get to and this part of town has parking available in plenty of spots. It's pretty big and has a few dozen tables inside plus an outdoor seating area. They have plenty of beers on tap plus canned ones as well, on top of a merch shop in the front. They have windows so you can view the actual brewery which is cool. The staff here are awesome, very friendly and fun to chat with. This is a solid spot to grab a beer with friends or even some food, which they have a decent sized menu with good portions for a solid price.“

“Indeed a hidden gem! This unassuming restaurant is tucked away in a small market with a little courtyard in the back where you could dine in and enjoy your meal. My husband and I each had the chicken and beef combos which were delicious. The dishes looked very simple but the flavours were amazing! The injera was so soft and tasty - I’m obsessed! Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. They also have a vegetarian option as well as kid-friendly meals. Our 7.5 month old baby had the veggies (lentils, potatoes and carrots) with injera and he absolutely loved it! Devoured it!! Hands down THE best Ethiopian food in Victoria. ♥“

“Thought I’d try Chicken 649 as I heard they really good Korean chicken. I ordered the 5 piece daily special, original flavour. A good deal for awesome chicken, crunchy yummy seasoned batter on the outside and tender juicy chicken on the inside. The side potatoes wedges were big, battered & very tasty. The coleslaw was okay. It was a good sized portion and was more than enough for 2-3 people. Oh and they throw in a pop as well. I want to go back and try the other flavours. I highly recommend.“

“Wanted a nice vegan lunch and found this was a couple blocks away from our hotel (Strathcona). Food was amazing! The mushroom soup was the best I ever had and the Mac bowl makes me want to come back for more. Highly recommended. All vegan, gluten free, locally sourced ingredients. Everything we ate was crafted to perfection.“
