“On Easter Sunday after church my sister and another good friend were in the mood for Mediterranean food. We looked on Yelp and were happy to see beautiful reviews for Ali Baba Cafe. Let me tell you this restaurant did not disappoint on any level! A family atmosphere, with yummy aromas throughout we sat, were greeted my a joyful young man who was stellar in his service, getting us seated and started with water and tea. Then the waiter came and shared more about the menu favorites and the differences between certain dishes which was very helpful. The Hummus was amazing! Then each of the dishes we ordered two of ordered lamb dishes and one a beef dish, all were very delicious. The portions were plentiful! Then I ordered the most delectable baklava flaky and soaked in (honey I believe) but the most perfect balance. We will surely be back to this blessed restaurant. What a great first experience. Thank you to all those who served us with excellence from the seating to, taking our order to when we checked out and paid leaving out. Each person greeted us with joy. “The place is set up as a counter order and not a full service place. They do have indoor and nice outdoor seating area.We got the he combo plate 1/2 beef and chicken. With salad and rice as the side dishes. I am from Chicago area and we have great mediterranean places!Meat flavor was ok, very light flavor, we also felt the meat was too er cooked and on the dry side. Rice had little flavor and salad was fine. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The hummus was also pretty good and the chicken strips were solid. Overall a great meal and they also had garlic butter sauce(my favorite condiment at kabob spots, similar to Zankou’s garlic sauce).I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu options.“

The simplicity and elegance in the decor, a large eye-catchng chandelier, and beautiful decor welcomes you to one of the best Persian food restaurants in the SFV. Upon being seated, we were served freshly baked traditional Persian bread. Our server was very kind and tried her best to accomodate our orders. I was impressed with the ghormeh sabzi stew (herb stew) and Ghaimeh (tomato base beef stew); robust with flavor and quantity, I was pleasantly surprised. The ground beef and filet mignon were juicy, tender and absolutely delicious! The rice was slightly cold which made it hard for the butter to melt; but the kabobs were served hot. The owner visited our table serveral times to assure good service and food. Attention to detail is key and Kourosh Restaurant delivers.“

They offer a self serve sauce bar that had mild to hot sauces, banana peppers, pickled veggies and garlic sauce. I of course had to try their garlic sauce, it did not disappoint. It packed a strong garlic punch which I really liked. The main course gyro and salad were delicious. Gyro was seasoned well and salad was fresh. Hummus has a nice flavor, it's also really creamy. They have a bar and a couple TV's. Indoor seating has booths and tables. Outdoor seating is in front of restaurant and has a covered patio.“

“Although I've known Diar market for a long time. I shop here very seldomly because this market has very limited ethnic items, it mostly serves the Persian community. Imho, if they had various international goods they would be more successful. Also recently, the first time, I bought some chicken and beef, both had a terrible stench when I got home. I didn't even bother taking it back because of the lack of customer service reviews on Yelp, at least $15 worth of meat went to trash. What a disappointment! It's a shame. I understand it's a small business serving our community however customer service makes it or breaks it!“

“This may be the healthiest I've felt eating delicious Israeli food. Well, the pita definitely wasn't "healthy" but it was homemade and soft and warm. My Sabich plate included marinated purple cabbage, couscous, fried eggplant, gorgeous beets, hummus and tomato/cucumber salad. You get to choose what you want in it -- next time I'm trying the cauliflower. The dish is marked as vegetarian but does include a sliced hard-boiled egg which was OK by me as I'm just trying to eat healthy-ish.“
