Friendly service, no wait, and a tasty egg sandwich at a reasonable price. I've been shopping and dining on Solano since I was a teenager and I had never clocked this place, but I am so glad I did. “Last night, my daughter and my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a really nice dessert after dinner we decided to go again to happy donut. We have our faves there. I decided to treat everyone and my choice was I have to say that they make the best apple fritter anywhere and having a cuppa coffee in the morning may sound like a bit of a sugar overload but it's my happy place . we didn't stop there. I also bought regular donuts bars and cream puffs and you just get started. You can't stop.. It's locally owned and operated and the quality always seems to be there and they seem to be sold out if you go there too late of all the faves that everyone likes so it's a pretty popular place for people to show up . Fortunately we got everything we wanted and we're very happy.“

“I had the best avocado toast and a delicious coffee while sitting at a table on the sidewalk in front of the kitchenette. Everything was glorious. I also bought a loaf of banana bread to bring home, which I expect will hit the senses in a just-as-amazing way.“
“This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the East Bay. The overall vibe is very small town, neighborly, friendly. The parklet right in front means great people watching. I mostly go here to write, when I need to get away from my computer. HAL'S never disappoints and I have not encountered unprofessional staff, just the opposite in fact. The coffee is really high end, and the quiche is always good... I just like how they have created a really nice place to be. It's teeny tiny, and feels cared for. Solano is such a vibrant neighborhood and Hal's is a big part of it.“

“I absolutely love this place! The staff are so kind and friendly, excellent capuccinos (no sizes -- the correct way to make them), it's in one of my favorite nurserys and also has cute tables in the garden if you want to sit. I also think the pastry selection is spot on.“
