1st time going since it was akira. The only thing new is the sign & name but I was expecting more. It's just feels old in there. But not classic old, just old & dated. Food quality didn't look good enough for date night. Service was ok but ended up leaving after sitting down. My advice, update the interior.
I have thought Akira was the best teppan yaki/sushi place I have ever been to anywhere. I loved the fluffy rice, the spot on flavors and the perfectly rolled sushi every time. Their potstickers were the best also.Our dining group decided to try Mikados who have taken over this spot. The rice was good but was not as fluffy and no sesame seeds. Wow! So natural delicious taste. This restaurant I ever enjoy at. Chef shows off cooking skills at the small sizzling table with customers. So fantastic fun! Little expensive but so worthy.
