“I got the Coop de ville, mini biscuits and fries. The fried chicken was so good and the coleslaw was slightly spicy! The mini biscuits were so flaky and miso butter was practically desert. The pineapple mustard dip was SO good, I might as well have poured it over the fries. The space was outdoors and had heaters. Not full service but who cares when the food is so good!“

“Wow! I really love the chicken. I ordered the Combo #1 which included 2 pieces of chicken and a waffle! The only thing I want to complain about is the waffle - it was thick and fluffy which I appreciated... but it was soggy. I will say, I didn't get to go here in person (my boyfriend picked up for me) so maybe that contributes to the soggy waffle? Would like to try again!“

“This place serves 85 years of proven deliciousness. It is simple. It is hearty. These days, it is even out of the ordinary. Just go. You will be glad that you did. If you are like me, you’ll remember how Mom would heat the oven to 450 degrees and place the block of ice Hungry Man pot pie in the oven for one hour till it transformed into a cauldron of molten lava. My mother would even crack open the hood of the pie and load it with an extra cup of frozen peas and carrots that would cook to perfection in the heavenly inferno of scrumptious delight, which made me the muscular hunk of love that I am today. The San Diego Chicken Pie Shop serves up a pie that is an even better recipe than the one in my memories of my dear Mom. If your are nearby, give it a try.“

“I ordered takeout. The taste was very delicious! You can choose the level of spiciness, so I chose standard. It wasn't too spicy and I was able to eat it till the end.The chicken is also thick and voluminous, making it a satisfying meal. The chicken was also juicy and not too dry.The sauce on the chicken is also appetizing and delicious, and I can see why this restaurant is so popular.Even though it's spicy, it's delicious until the end, and you'll want to eat it again. Please come and try it.“

“Crossed San Ysidro border and wanted to get something quick to eat before going to a hotel. This is one of the only places open and it’s a window that you order at most of the food is pretty much ready just staying warm. Which was great because we were in a Uber. Friendly staff got three piece chicken combo with a drink comes with mashed potatoes and biscuit. Everything was very good. I think it was the first time I was here and I was seriously surprised at how much I enjoyed it.“

“Amazing food! Extremely crispy chicken without it being dry! I didn't know that the chicken would come with gravy, which was a lovely surprise. The Jollibee Spaghetti was also good, a little sweet but not bad at all. I also tried the Adobo Rice, and it was decent. All in all, it was an amazing first experience. I'll definitely he back soon!“

“Tenders are very good! Fries are good, nothing special. Service is kiosk ordering. No interaction with anyone. Charge .50 per dipping sauce and .50 for “no sauce”? Only free item is ketchup. Reasonably quick food prep. Hot enough to still be warm after walking back to hotel 10 minutes away. Located inside a mini food court type area. Only real issue is drink prices. $4.00 for a 20oz bottle of Diet Coke is ridiculous. Less expensive out of vending machine at hotel which means it’s over priced! Otherwise will definitely get their tenders again next time in SAN.“

“Fast & accommodating of my demanding requests. I tend to request sauces and items they don’t normally give you, unless one requests it ….they did it without hesitation, or with face of annoyance. Also more importantly, the order was correct. overall great service.“
