“We have eaten at Callie several times now and have come to the conclusion that it is the best dining experience in San Diego. The food is incredible. Every single bite is an experience. So many flavors! Give me an order of uni toast and the Patatas Bravas and I'm a happy man. The Aleppo Chicken is mind-blowing. Have not had a bad bite of anything in all of our visits. Service is top notch! From Tim you walk in to the time you leave the service staff and management is on top of making sure you have a great experience. If you haven't been to Callie get yourself a reservation and treat yourself to a night out. They will take great care of you. Best of the best! ?Vegetarian options: There are so many vege options that are so good. The babaghanoush, hummus, broccolini, carrots and Patatas Bravas are just a few of the options we always find on our table when we visit. So good!Parking: Parking garage on opposite side of the block from street entrance. Hostess stand will validate 3 hours of parking.“
“Great dinner had at this restaurant. It’s a busy place so be sure to make reservations. We had the pasta with clams and chicken with kale…both were really tasty. We also had the beet salad and goat cheese appetizer…both were awesome.“
“George (the owner) and his staff were incredibly hospitable and source food consciously. The baba ghanoush and falafel were INCREDIBLE, even by comparison to dishes I've had while travelling in the middle east. Highly recommend to anyone visiting San Diego! Well worth the drive from down town (better quality, better price). Bonus for LOTS of vegetarian and vegan options.“
“Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.“
“We enjoyed our dinner there. Food was good and the girls were very nice. The only thing was we were waiting for a pretty long time before our food came out. And when the soup finally made it to the table—with the main course, it was tepid at best. Restaurant was pretty busy, no one checked back with us. And we had to track someone down to pay our bill at the end.“
“I lived in Israel for 20 years and very much miss good home food ! This is hot all the points and all the taste buds !Phenomenal food ! Every bite was top notch !If I am in area I will be back!If you love fresh made food ! Please come eat here and support local community and restaurants! What a treat!“
“The food and atmosphere were great. I went there for a business meeting, and everyone came away happy with their food. we shared the jalapeño and cilantro hummus and the tzatziki sauce with pita bread as an appetizer. I had lamb Shawarma and really enjoyed it.I would definitely go back in the future to take my wife for dinner.“
“My experience at Luna grill was really amazing , we had such delicious food I had never had before and management was above and beyond when the staff was busy they came to make sure we had everything we needed 10 out of 10 experience . For sure would go again !“
“We walked in here by accident. The restaurant bills itself as an oasis in the urban setting. It’s adorable. Tylor was fantastic as our server. The Loco was perfectly seasoned, the scramble was excellent. Friendly staff excellent meal. Looking forward to returning.“
“my favorite restaurant of all time! the service is always impecable and it is the best food you can dream of for vegans and non vegans alike. they can cater to a wide range of allergies including (but not limited to) gluten free, nut free, and soy free. the wait staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the food and beverage selection and are so kind and helpful if you have any questions. the outdoor patio is beautiful with plants all around and the ambiance inside is lovely as well. my fiancé and i are having our wedding reception at donna jean and everybody at the restaurant has been so helpful every step of my planning. we are so excited to share our favorite restaurant with our friends and family. i would genuinely give 10 stars if i couldDietary restrictions: i can’t imagine a lot of dietary restrictions they are unable to accommodate.“
“As a Moroccan who lived most of her life in Morocco and the rest in baja cali. I love to come to this place and eat their food. It really makes me feel home and I love the taste and every bite of their food especially the hot Moroccan tea. I highly recommend this “
“We arrived a little before lunch, we were seated promptly, brought waters and menus very quickly. We ordered a gyro sandwich and fries and a gyro dish with a kebob. The food was delicious, flavors as expected and service was very quick, from ordering to being served as well. The beer options were good and went well with the food. I did enjoy this place and as others arrived for lunch they were serviced promptly as well, all while our server continued to give us excellent service. March 6, 2024.“
“Great vibe here ! Staff was nice and very helpful. Food was amazing and the manager Christian really made me feel welcomed. He guided me through the menu and suggested his favorites. My kids left a bit of a mess…,as I was cleaning up they came to tell me they’d take care of it!! Really made me feel like a guest. Thank you guys ! Will be coming back soon.“
“Ordered a shawarma, one of the most delicious one i have had in San Diego. They make the Sajj bread in store which makes all the difference. First bite into Shawarama and you notice it. Also the Shawarama is quite large and fulfilling. I also tried their zaatar Mana'ish, would recommend getting some yogurt or hummus with it. They have a lot of options on the menu which can be overwhelming at first but read through the description and try a dish.“
“The staff is always helpful. The food is great. Elizabeth was very helpful. I had some deals on my app and she calmly helped me step through ordering so I could get the offers that are available to me. Thank you, Elizabeth. I also think it's great that they remember things about your ordering habits. Pablo seems to know I like 3..4 lemon slices ro season my salmon with. That's what I call customer service. Thanks, Pablo. Please "Like this if you find it helpful". Thank you.Dear Owner,I use to come here a lot. 2...3.. days a week. Please..please..put this restaurant back on the Marriott Eat Around Town program. If I get points for just eating here..I tend to eat here more. Since you stopped being on that program I only eat here like once every 6 months. Think it over. Thanks“
“This place is excellent. The restaurant is very clean, food is quality with large quantities and very tasty . I had never had such a great Hamburger for a long time. The staff and the owner are very respectful and polite. I want to say thank you for such a great food.“
“Abbey, our attendant was friendly and greeted is with a smile...good customer service! Brought our food to the table quickly...thank you kitchen staff. Abbey followed up to see if our food was good and if we needed anything. Food is healthy and filling. Yum! Thank you Rancho San Diego staff!“
“My friend, who is a native Iraqi, took me to Happy Time and I was blown away by the authenticity and deliciousness of the food. We ordered a sampler of things and the kanaf at the end was simply mouth-watering. Five stars for the food, service and friendliness!“
“Best food in town!!!! The ambiance is the best brunch feeling while the food is so diverse and covers all types of foods. The waffles are amazing and the breakfast menu is very good. The kufta and eggs are tasty. The stuffed breads and menemen sausage is wow. The bread freshly made in front of you is wow also. They also have a healthy menu too for those who want that. Mimosas are so good.“
“Best Gyro's. Stuffed with lots of meat, diced veggies. A little of everything with every bite. Very, very fresh.Always feel welcomed with every visit. If there are any slight issues with anything, they go the extra mile to make it just right. This place is Awesome and of course, so is the food. Also LOVE, LOVE the beet salads!“
“Genuine family business with tasty and authentic cuisine. Me and my partner keep coming back for the lentil soup even though we are not living in SD anymore! Much love from AZ & Germany!!Vegetarian options: Lentil soup is a 10A lot of vegetarian dishesParking: More than enough parking space, dhared parking for multiple businesses“
“The food was absolutely stellar. The flavors were all there and I honestly will be coming back frequently. The service was great. The gentleman working the entire restaurant was super friendly, and him doing so much alone didn't compromise a single thing. I'm telling you, this is the spot for when you're craving some Mediterranean.“
“Spectacular culinary experience in a low key San Diego Beach setting. Our choices included caviar (it was divine), grilled octopus (tender with a wonderful grilled flavor), salmon, ahi, steak, crispy eggplant (all amazingly perfect!).The creme bruleé with citrus was superb. Excellent service from Brett. The food, atmosphere, and service made our family get together an even better experience.“
“I never write reviews…even when I really really disliked a place…but I’m literally writing this right after I ate here. First of all, I think the lady that helped me order was named Alexandera…well give her a raise…I haven’t had a better customer service experience in such a long time! And that’s on top of how good the food was! I had the Chx Cream Chop Wrap…and wow! So good!!! And when you add that red sauce that it came with…seriously…mind blown! Not only will I come back…I will tell everyone I know about this place!“
“We have wanted to find a Greek restaurant in downtown, and it was quite hard until a neighbor told us about this place. This restaurant is outstanding!! Rosalie is very pleasant, makes amazing cocktails and knows everyone. Authentic Greek food and apps is why we continue to come back to this place.“
“Adorable spot tucked into a small part of lot.Owner came out and helped us with the menu; hand delivered folks’ food even with a pick up window; and owner even tossed in a small side of fries for the pup.Hidden walkable gem in north park/city heights cusp. Owner clearly loves what he does and cares for his customers; genuine smile the whole time we were there.Service: efficientFood: outstandingVibe: chillOwner: legendHotel: trivago“
“I’m obsessed with this place. It’s family owned and they’ve been around for a while. I’ve been coming here since before the pandemic. The food is top notch and they give great portions. I typically get the gyro plate & hummus. The man who takes the orders is always so friendly and sweet. It’s an all around great establishment!“
“We love this local, quaint restaurant! It’s quiet with excellent food and incredible service. Our favorite foods are the short rib taco appetizer, Waygu & truffle ravioli appetizer, and the duck confit. The oysters are good too!Highly recommend Oyster & Pearl for a quiet date night or special dinner out.“
“As someone who is currently training to run a marathon, it’s not very often that I go out to eat.On top of the bad experiences, atmosphere, food, and the cost of everything that is involved with going out to eat nowadays, it’s very rare that I make my way into a sit down restaurant. However, I’m so happy to say that this place was absolutely none of the above. What caught my eye initially was the color and freshness advertised of the Mediterranean harvest bowl, which I did end up getting, and when I say that it was the best tasting food I’ve had in recent memory, I’m not exaggerating.I can’t remember the last time I ate something that actually made me happy as I was eating it. For the amount of food I was given, the quality of the ingredients, the airy and fresh atmosphere of the restaurant, all at the price of $14, made this one of the best dine in experiences I’ve had in recent memory. Will absolutely be coming back!“
“This food truck is a hidden gem in Chula Vista! You can see just how juicy and tender the chicken and beef were in the picture! I usually drive to San Diego to eat mediterranean food because there isn't many options in CV. But now that I found this place, it will definitely be my go to. The meat is flavorful, the pita bread is fluffy, and the tabouli tastes fresh! There's not a long wait time and the service is nice. My only complaint is that I wish they gave more tabouli. Nonetheless, this place is delicious and I recommend getting their garlic sauce too to top off your meal. I will for sure be going more often and trying more things on the menu!“
“Sweet guy running the register, absolutely delicious food and quaint atmosphere with awesome prices. Def my fave Greek food in San DiegoParking: There are lots of options, time it for less busy points of the day and you’ll find enough options to fit any budget (it’s downtown) just give yourself a few extra minutes at peak timesWheelchair accessibility: The city has decent enough access compared to others I have lived in. This is an old building with close set tables, so getting in and getting seated might be a little difficult, but there is a wheelchair accessible seat right as you come in the door. There aren’t very many seating options, because of the size of building, that’s not something they can help.“
“The Mediterranean food here is excellent and all the dishes I've tried are fresh, well made and flavorful. My favorite dish so far is the chicken kabob plate. The grilled chicken is tender and savory. I also love the lentil soup they serve when you dine in.“
“i havent been here in years and I was actually coming for their burger and it no longer here, but that gave me a chance to try a few new things. I convinced my wife to go with the Garlic Lemon Chicken and that my friends deserves a 5 star rating. The customer service also gets 5 stars for going above and beyond. The Gyro Hummus and Koobideh were really good and I am really looking forward to coming back again. I know food prices are going up and it is good food but I didnt think it was quite $20 a plate good. I will still come back, just not as frequent. Nice quiet place for lunch.“
“Tasty. Very helpful staff and great service.Best Mediterranean food in San Diego. Specially their rice and kabob.I hope they will be able to expand as it gets too busy around dinner and Ramadan iftar. It’s perfect for takeout as well. Specially their family meals which are very well priced.Vegetarian options: Falafel, many large salads and vegetarian appetizers, Foul mdames, fattah, hummus, lentil soup, mutabal , vegetable stews, friesDietary restrictions: Halal with some vegetarian options“
“Just had a great meal delivered via DoorDash. I ordered the kabob combo - beef and chicken. The beef was super tender. Generous portion. Loved the flavor of the tzatziki. Really enjoyed it. Definitely the best DoorDash I've had. Travelled well! Probably even more delicious in person. Will absolutely be ordering from them again.“
“I have been wanting to go here for years and finally had a chance to go with my wife for a Friday lunch. Parking can be a little tough, but there is free street parking and pay lots nearby. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool inside and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer platter and loved it. We ate the entire appetizer platter, including extra Pita bread, and almost ruined our appetites before our entrées arrived. The main meals were delicious. I also got the vegetarian platter with 4 different items and different rices.I will definitely go again (next time not on a Friday during Lent so that I can try some of the entrées with meat options). I will also recommend to friends and others.Vegetarian options: Wide variety of vegetarian options with excellent flavor profiles and large, hearty portions.“
“Erik's an actual gem and staple. He's ran the shop for over 30 years and this food is delicious. His staff and service was impeccable. Definitely come here daily if you have a chance. Fresh food, great prices, and fantastic service.“
“I last visited this restaurant before COVID epidemic. The owner remembered me. The grilled salmon was just the way I like it, crisp on outside, moist interior! I also had it with banana. The fish curry was very tasty too! This is a nice little unpretentious with very good food. I will return again!“
“Kebab Shop is my go to when I'm in the gaslamp. 5 stars in all categories.I was a little disappointed they discontinued the meatballs but I had the Kafta and it's actually better.Doesnt matter if you like a wrap or a plate both are exceptional. The manager is a cool dude as well. Always very pleasant and on top of his game.Fair warning, it takes like 10 or 15 minutes for the steak so be patient when you go there and order a freshly cooked skewer of meat.“
“I experienced exemplary service and hospitality at Micho’z. The beef shawarma plate was very tasty and seasoned well and paired very nicely with garlic labne. All in all a very nice and welcoming experience.Vegetarian options: There is falafel and many other dishes that contain no meat“
“I tried the Beef and Lamb Shawarma plate. The portions are large so you can probably share this plate. Ordered it with Rice and Salad. Also came with hummus. Everything was delicious. I also tried the whole fried chicken wings which were also very tasty. So if in the mood for Gyros. You definitely should try this place out. Also has many other options on their menu. It's located in the Fiesta Market .“
“Wondered in after reading the sign outside advertising a special. Somalian food I had not ever experienced. I was offered a delicious hot black tea with milk and sugar. I ordered the salmon with rice, and salad. It was SO DELICIOUS. Clove and bay leaf slow cooked rice. The fish lightly crisp on the outside, buttery and cooked to perfection within. Kind courteous Somalian people and culture. I look forward to sharing more, and trying other dishes. Ancient good food.“
“Excellent food quality, portion, and flavors. Ordered the chef special and was pleased how fresh and pleasant the seasoning, sauce, ingredients were used. The owners were friendly and helpful with explaining some aspects of the food. The casual setting with picnic tables outside felt accordingly to the environment. Sadly I was too eager to enjoy the food to take a photo for presentation.“
“Just wanted to point out that I work at one of the neighboring stores in the mall and since the first time I stepped in their building, I have not stopped coming back for more. They have tremendous food. Every choice is tasty. Wanted to also give a huge shout out to the manager there, his names Kevin and he has been so Hospitable, professional, and overall a good guy he makes my experience here a whole lot better and have made a lifelong fan out of me. Go get yourselves some kebab!!“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Mystic Grill in La Mesa, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience. This hidden gem offers some of the most delightful Mediterranean cuisine in San Diego. The standout dish for me was undoubtedly their hummus. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, it's no exaggeration to say that Mystic Grill serves up the best hummus in San Diego. Paired with warm, freshly baked pita bread, it was a match made in food heaven. The menu here is a treasure trove of Mediterranean delights. From the succulent kebabs to the aromatic shawarma, every dish was a burst of authentic flavor. The quality of ingredients and the skilled preparation really shine through in every bite. What's even more impressive is the pricing. Despite the exceptional quality of the food, the prices at Mystic Grill are incredibly reasonable, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place for a date night or a gathering with friends. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. In a city known for its diverse food scene, the Mystic Grill stands out as a hidden gem offering amazing Mediterranean cuisine, particularly their legendary hummus. If you're looking for a taste of the Mediterranean that won't break the bank, this place should be at the top of your list. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their delectable dishes – you won't be disappointed!“
“Food is great service is ok. The heaters outside can get intense and you'll eat with a burning forehead. Not 5 stars on the food because we got the mocha from seeing a video on Instagram and we just got a black coffee with some flavoring. Wheres the cream?“
“I was in El Cajon for a work trip & staying at a hotel nearby. I found Sultan on maps, saw the reviews, & opted to try it. & oh my god. I'm sitting in my hotel room alone giddy with joy eating this baklava. It is so, so good. The man that helped me answered all my questions & steered me towards great choices! I can't recommend enough!!!“
“"Ok, Google, find a Mediterranean restaurant near me that's open for lunch." I was not led astray when I was directed to Alfinjan. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and initially asked for rice instead of fries, but was told I should try the fries because they "cook them differently...you know, to stand out." And stand out they do...crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I don't know what the secret is, but trust these fries. But really, who even cares about sides when the shawarma is so perfectly cooked. Moist, juicy, with that slight crispness... It shared space with lettuce pickles and the most delicious creamy garlic sauce... With I think just a hint of tahini. You know how sometimes tahini can be too sesame forward or salty? This was not, it was truly heavenly. I wish I had snapped a photo, but I was too busy enjoying the food. Highly recommended for both food and friendly, helpful service. I will be back soon.“
“This is a small family owned greek sopt, hidden treasure in grossmont food court**Their suppliers compete for quality**They deserve a 5 star reaturant in la Mesa tbh;I really think they should start a go fund me, I'd love to contribute to their goals!!“
“This place is always lit! Now, I may be biased because of how long I have been going to this place (since it opened) and all the good times we've had there but I have nothing but good things to say about the staff, the food, and the music. People out doing what people do, having a blast and Romescos providing a great spot for it. They also have an amazing breakfast. If you're out at the tapas bar with the music on Saturday, come back on Sunday and hit up the brunch. Always good food.“
