He recommended a pizza and said it was "really good." LIAR!! It was FANTASTIC?!! Santiago so undersold his recommendation. I've been back 3 times (and bragging to all my friends about the spectacular food), trying something new each time. The Meatball Hilly... so beautiful ! Very difficult to pick one as a favorite pizza because they've ALL been amazing!! Most recent orders for our pizza crowd were Golden Hill, Classic Cheese, Downtown, and The Boulevard (White pizza). A wide variety of choices where everyone felt they were a winner! And for those who routinely leave the pizza crust... to leave a Hillcrust Pizza crust uneaten would be a sin.Sorry no pictures. “So pleasantly surprised by this place! We got the both XLB flavors, a couple of the dumplings, orange chicken and chicken chow mein. The noodles in the chow mein were slightly overcooked but that didn't take away from the flavor. All the dumplings were delicious and the orange chicken was some of the best I've had. Crispy and sweet but not overly sweet. We have picky kids and all of them devoured the food. Prices were fair and we are looking forward to returning! To eat I had the Shrimp Fried Rice and my husband had the Fancy Grilled Cheese and added chicken. The food was delicious! Especially the SFR! It was a very large portion. “We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“

“First made the drive down to Blue Poke for a Yelp event, but came back a few times when I found myself in the area. There are a few other blue pokes that have since opened closer to central San Diego with one in North Park, but I think the quality varies from location to location- this location in National City being the best! First of all, the design of the store is so fun and I could tell it was clean and well maintained. I had a delicious poke bowl with my favorite spicy ahi (minced style). They have a good number of toppings to choose from along with great sauces. This is what I like to call "chipotle style" poke where you build your bowl, but everything was good! Easy parking to grab your bowl for take-out!“

A good amount of acai, plus ample amounts of strawberry, banana, some blueberries and blackberries, plus some granola, shredded coconut, and a bit of honey. There was no one in the store when I went, which is such a shame - this place is a hidden gem, I guess (despite being literally right next to El Cajon blvd). They go down like buttahh... But, le’me tell you, that spicy sauce is so dope. It’s bursting with so much flavor and adds some heat to the bites. It’s just a cherry on top of the sundae. So ask for the spicy sauce. It’s so good.Their sides are all great. Starting with that cornbread. The pieces are huge and perfect. They have the right amount of moisture that they don’t get all crumbly n crummy. So yummy! I could stop there, but I love their bbq beans that have chunks of pineapple. Didn’t expect that my first time there when they first opened. But I’ve been a sucker for it ever since. If you don’t want something sweet, the red beans n rice are also great. They even have chunks of the brisket in it. I must say, I never really had collard greens till I discovered Coops. I’ve had it since at other places, but I really like the way they make the greens here. I always gotta have it on my plate to complete my scrumptious meal. I usually order for pick up and bring my stash home for the fam. There is limited seating inside and outside if you can’t wait to get home. “I pass by Big Front Door often heading to work. Decided to stop in and give it a try this afternoon. I got their Cobbler salad and my friend got the chicken parmesan sandwich. The portion sizes are very generous, I asked for extra dressing with my salad and didn't really need it as there was a decent amount left. The food tasted great and was served up without much of a wait time. The star of the show was the gentleman that helped us though! I wish I had taken the time to get his name to give him proper credit. He greeted us, made small talk while my friend and I decided what to have and as we were leaving he offered to clear our table for us. Very polite and friendly! I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular places to go.“

Not only was the pizza delicious and the delivery timely, but they actually fulfilled my silly request, which I wasn’t expecting but always appreciate! As if that wasn’t a pleasant enough surprise, the wonderful staff at this location enclosed an assortment of candy for me as a gesture of good will. What a way to keep a customer coming! “We live nearby, less than 2 miles away and this was our first time visiting. It was taco Tuesday and I saw they had $1.85 street tacos (price as of 2/6/24). Options were chicken, carne asada, and adobada. I had one of each and they were amazing !We ate there and enjoyed really tasty chips and salsa while the tacos were being made. The pictures of all the music artists on the wall were so fun to look at and the music was also really nostalgic. Also, the staff was so helpful and friendly. Some places make you feel rushed and this really felt inviting.I had 3 tacos and my fiance had 4. It was the perfect amount for each of us for dinner. But at $1.85 each, get as many as you want!We had the chipotle crema salsa and the habanero salsa. Both were excellent. Habanero salsa wasn’t overly spicy, despite it looking like their hottest salsa.I’m excited to come here for other items too. Their breakfast burritos , quesadillas , and tortas also all look amazing. We’re so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood. I highly suggest coming by and getting a meal if you’re in the area.“

It still has all the same beautiful French style giant chandeliers, toulouse-lautrec drawings on the walls, dripping candles. The entrance is still the freezer door in the back, it can also be accessed through the back of barrel & board. They have great bartenders that make fantastic drinks with beautiful flourishings, they also offer a good list of mocktails...I really liked "like a virgin". The only thing I didn't like was the DJ in the corner, it's such a uniquely beautiful place and it just seems wrong to have club music... I'm looking forward to checking out the live music on Wednesdays :)“

“Brooklyn Pizzeria is located on the corner of 4th and C Street in downtown San Diego. They have a good selection of pizza by the slice at lunchtime and a cool brick oven to cook their pies in. Service was friendly and they seem to do a good bit of business at this location. They have a few tables inside for dining as well as some window bar type seating by each window. The pizza as definitely solid and had a good flavor. The only thing I didn’t like so much was all the homeless people hanging around. It definitely takes away from the vibe of a good meal. The Drunken noodles with beef and shrimp was my favorite dish. The yellow curry was very tasty. Thai fried rice was on point and the crispy veggie eggrolls were good. “One of my favorite locations to visit for smoothies. They offer a ton of healthy and affordable food. The chilaquiles are very popular and delicious. I ordered the chocolate banana smoothie and it's amazing. Their smoothies are all so fresh and you can add additional protein or collagen to it. They have gender restrooms available and a ton of dinning tables to dine in. Overall a positive experience highly recommend a visit.“
