If you've ever worked in downtown SF pre Covid, you'd know Specialty's was a staple for lunch catering and their cookies! And a quick place to pick up salad, sandwiches as well as the fresh cookies. There was only one left in Mountain View after they closed all the ones in SF and the Bay Area. I'm sure the real reason is so that my Specialty's rewards would no longer be valid cause I racked up so many freebies they didn't want to anymore money. We were enthusiastic when we found out Specialty's was somehow back in business, in all places, Brisbane?! They are only opened on weekdays so it was a voyage for me to drive down to Brisbane during my meager one hour lunch break. My favorite locations back then were the Sansome/Clay corner location and the one by Market and Battery. They used to have 1/2 priced cookies after 3pm. They still do have the lunch boxes.
