“The true star of Sushi Nishi is, of course, the food. The sushi here is a work of art. The fish was incredibly fresh and the rice was perfectly seasoned, striking a harmonious balance that showcased the chef's expertise. Each piece of sushi melted in my mouth, leaving me craving for more. The menu also offered a variety of traditional and innovative rolls, which catered to both sushi purists and those looking for a unique twist on classic flavors.I also had the opportunity to try the sashimi, which was as equally outstanding as the sushi. The slices of raw fish were expertly cut and the presentation was simply exquisite. Additionally, the miso soup and seaweed salad were flavorful complements to the main course.“

“Probably my favorite place to eat. The food is delicious, creative, and beautiful to look at. The staff are professional and friendly. I've been following the chef for close to twenty years now, from Chiba to Asanebo to his own restaurant, and he's destined to become a name in the sushi business. Excellent fish. Great taste. Outstanding menu, both in terms of selection and preparation. A must-visit restaurant for the sushi lover who wants to see some new ideas.“

“Short Ribs are delicious! Do yourself a favor and order Special B. It comes with Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with Beef Short Ribs, sides of rice and salad plus teriyaki sauce and chili sauce. The short ribs and chicken were not only delicious they were nice and hot! You can tell they came right off the grill! Portion size is big for the price. For appetizer, ordered chicken egg rolls (qty: 3) comes with sweet and sour dipping sauce. Egg rolls were hot and crispy. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. He offered to clean the table before we sat down. I liked and appreciated that. The restaurant is very clean and has a small dining area.“

“I knew we were in for some amazing sushi when I was told by the hostess that they didn't serve California Rolls because this was a true Japanese restaurant. The sushi (mostly nigiri and Masa-san made an exception for us in preparing a maki:) was amazing and the ambiance is laid back yet traditional without the garish/pretentious frou-frou. We regret not doing the omakase but there's definitely going to be a next time.“

“I'm not sure where to start. I'm a sushi snob no doubt. LA has great sushi at all price levels. At the high end, you have to be unique and have the best ingredients. Sushi Iki which only does omakase does it better than just about anybody in town. Eddie, the owner and chef, is 79 with the energy of a 19 year old and he knows his fish. Be prepared to try new things, sir back and watch Eddie work his magic. If you want more info on anything you're eating, he'll tell you. If you want to treat yourself to some of LA's top sushi, don't miss this Michelin rated, one man show! An LA treasure for sure!“

“Best sushi in Simi Valley for the value! The owners and staff are very kind. We've been going to Megu since over 10 years ago, and we love it. The sushi is fresh and their portion is very generous. The price is very reasonable and one of the best prices around. They also do pick up. Can be busy so come early.“

“The food was fantastic and I went before dinner rush so it wasn’t too busy. The staff were still looking for ways to serve and clear our table of any dishes instead of standing around which some people do at other restaurants when it’s slow. The tables were pretty close together so if you don’t like having your conversations overheard this might be a tight space, but I would definitely go back for the food and the service.“

“Delicious my fiancee and I, were looking for good options for keeping up with this new healthier eating we are trying. 2 hours before closing we arrived after checking google maps, we were greeted with smiles and clear review of the menu. The chicken and steak picture on the wall first caught my eye which we ended up getting. Their dumplings which I don't normally eat were so tasty! The chicken and steak mixed with their terriyaki was really filling ?. Suffice to say we were pleased and very full. Good choice for flavor, quantity, and quality . ?“

“Food here is solid. I ordered to-go and for a quick dinner night with my 3 yo daughter. What we got: Salmon Skin Salad, Blue crab roll, avocado roll. All of it was pretty good. The salad was tasty, but I didn't really enjoy the salad dressing it comes with. The blue crab roll was oozing with crab. Nicely done. The avocado roll had big chunks of avocado making this one solid too. I would return. Not necessarily in a hurry, but for a night when I'm in a pinch and want something quick, healthy-ish and ok for me and the little. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of our food before we ate it. Presentation was however great too.“

“I have been going to red ginger for years so it's time I left a review. It's always consistently good fresh fish at a very reasonable price. I am currently eating their lunch special that is an incredible value ... soup salad and two rolls for $22. Jack and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. It's a great place to sit at the bar alone or a great place to bring the whole family! They have live music Friday and sat nights... although I usually come for the sushi, they also have great Thai food and a huge selection of items. This is a family favorite we will continue and enjoy!“

“Jo & Go is one of the best kept secrets for fast, affordable sushi in the Valley. It's located inside the Korean market Greenland. Nothing fancy, take-out only. The sushi rolls are big, and the bowls even more so. I recommend the salmon bowl if you just want salmon sashimi over rice. You get a lot of salmon. If I want something lighter, I get the hwedupbap bowl, which is essentially a sashimi salad. It comes with a side of white rice, gochuchang sauce, and miso soup. For rolls, I like the Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll. This is the perfect place to pick up lunch or dinner on your way home. Call ahead to place your order, and food is ready in 10-15min. Cash/credit card accepted. The place is run by a very friendly Korean couple. I just wish they were open later (they close at 7:30pm).“

“My son decided to treat me to dinner this past Sunday. Knowing that I love sushi and am very particular about it, he chose this restaurant. He had heard great things about it. What he heard was true! This place was a hidden gem.The first thing that I noticed was that even though it was in a little shopping center, the parking was plentiful and the spaces offered plenty of room. I am always nervous about getting my car scratched in tight spaces and I did not need to worry about that.As we walked in, we were immediately seated. The atmosphere was very nice. It was well lit, which I enjoy because it makes it easier for me to read the menu and see the food. I also enjoyed the fact that it was not loud. We were able to carry on a conversation even though there were many other patrons there. The waitress was always available, yet never hovering. We selected several rolls and my son chose some nigiri. I am not usually a fan of nigiri. I tend to prefer rolls with their toppings and sauces. My son suggested that we share all of the dishes. I agreed, but thought that I would not really like the nigiri. Well, I was wrong. The nigiri at Mutsumi Sushi was AMAZING! I loved the toppings and flavoring on each one. The flavors were subtle, but distinct. I was actually blown away. I will no longer avoid nigiri...at least at this restaurant.I was getting full after our first round of food, but it was so delicious that we ordered more. That was equally as delicious. Two of my favorite rolls were the Cajun Deluxe Roll and the Chatsworth Roll. We topped our meal off with some Tempura Ice Cream. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! I will definitely be returning to this lovely restaurant.“

“I went last night for my father's bday, and as usual it's still the best sushi restaurant I've been too PERIOD. I got the chance to meet one of the co-owners and had a great discussion with them! Everyone there is always kind, fast yet caring when serving any and all food and/or drinks. The food as usual is just top tier and has never not been consistently amazing each time. I URGE anyone who wants sushi to give them a call, reserve a table, and just enjoy. I can't wait to return. If anyone wants any recommendations, here are our orders (in order of when we place them). Again, this is just preference, everything is amazing. We are a party of 4 and DEFINITELY, can eat. First order: Edamame (plain, spicy, or both), shishito peppers, spicy tuna with crispy rice, extra ginger and wasabi. Second order: 1 order Tuna, salmon, and yellowtail nigiri, 2 orders of albacore(each order of nigiri usually comes in 2 pieces so keep this in mind), and a spicy tuna roll. Third order: Roasted jalapeño role, lemon role, creamy Langostino roll, albacore lovers role, and got sushi role.“

“Used to Live in Agoura years ago came in, herd so much nice things about this place. WOW it was fabulous!! I wish We had a place like this were I live. The manager was such a nice professional young man. Food was great but mostly impressed with the Manager. Ryan just came up to me and asked if everything was good and if I need anything. Who does that? I have never been to a restaurant where the manager just comes up for no reason. Ill be back.“

“I can't believe I hadn't written a review for this restaurant before. This was our go-to Japanese restaurant when we lived in Granada Hills -- it wasn't close by exactly but it's a whole lot closer than going to Little Tokyo or Torrance. My favorite items to order would be the Crispy Rice w/ Spicy Tuna, Seared Albacore w/ Crispy Onion, Seared Garlic Albacore Sashimi, Miso Marinated Black Cod, and an assortment of the sushi. Usually, I would call in for a to-go order, unless you arrive just when they open at 5pm for dinner, the wait can be hour + long. Called in a pick up order today and when I arrived at 1pm with my two kids who were too hungry to get to the actual lunch spot, I put my name down on the waitlist to get a table. We went basic today -- Shrimp and Vegetable tempura, Nabeyaki Udon, and 1 Rainbow row. The Udon wasn't big but had chunks of peppered chicken, napa cabbage, mushrooms, and 1 tempura shrimp -- sometimes when you order udon, it's just broth and noodles, so I was surprised there was a lot in the pot. Fish has always been fresh and today was too. Inside can be fairly noisy but spacious. Service attentive.“

I went in there for lunch one day not expecting much and left a fan. I can't tell you how many times I've been back since! I consider myself to be pretty bougie when it comes to sushi and this place meets all my needs. Shout out to the sushi chefs, Fiat, Tom, & Tan!!If you're picky you won't be disappointed. Unbelievably fresh sushi, amazing quality, and let's not forget they put the plates out with beautiful presentation!! I highly recommend I tend to order some of the more expensive stuff but they have a menu that will suit any budget!“

“Picked the right place before a 3 day fast. Last meal @1:58pm Absolutely incredible, full of flavor and they brought the spice level up from the last time I came here. Definitely great customer service with a smile. The lobby was clean. It was busy inside but managed to find a seat. I know it's just rice but the rice I ate was made perfectly. “I'm so glad my friend invited me to Makoto Sushi. Despite living nearby, I'd never been here before. If you're planning to visit for dinner, here's a little life hack: park at the Firestone parking lot nearby. From the moment we walked in, all the staff were super friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations on what to get. Luckily for me, my friend is a regular here, so he knew exactly what to order. We snagged seats at the bar, and even though the chef was slammed with orders, he still managed to make time for some small talk with us. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious. One standout dish was the red snapper - the chef added some sauce that made it finger-licking good. Overall, a fantastic experience deserving of 5 stars. I'll definitely be back for more!“

“Food was amazing. Price is really good, especially considering how good the food was. Service was ok but it was fairly busy and the place is relatively small so I think they may have been a bit overwhelmed. “Love this place for when I really want to treat my family to something special. I had Spanish mackerel sushi which was was smooth and buttery. The waitress suggested the banh-something roll and I was quite pleased with the flavor... the spicy little kick at the end was good and not too spicy. The only hiccup was that the waitress forgot to put my mom's order in, so unfortunately it came much later, but I'm still eating it a 5 stars because the manager took care of it right away and the waitress did a great job otherwise, from answering all our questions, seeming very knowledgeable, and asking if we were there for a special occasion; it was my son's birthday and the free mochi dessert was a lovely touch ?“

“California Bowl Teriyaki Suhi has been my go to lunch option whenever I am working and need a quick cheap meal. They offer a wonderful selection of Teriyaki platters but I've been on the spicy tuna bowl grind for awhile. It's 12 bucks and just enough food to get me through the day when I "forget" my lunch at home. It's super flavorful and it's nice they add some salad into the mix as well. Parking kind of sucks in this parking lot in general. I would recommend coming at 11 or 1 to avoid the 12 o'clock lunch rush. Order on Yelp for faster service and be sure to ask for sirracha for your meal and their teriyaki sauce. I have also tried the teriyaki platters and if you're more hungry I would recommend this.“
