“I came here with my family, the food was delicious, I highly recommend Tikka Kabab, Chopan/Shepherd Kabab, Kabab Kobida and the original Uzbeki Palaw. Prices are fair and staff were super respectful and friendly.Environment can be improved.“
“Stopped by a couple months ago and finally getting around to making a post. I can't remember what I originally ordered, but it wasn't available and they offered an alternative which was the chicken kabob and I am glad they mentioned it because it was great. Also, the hookah and service were also decent and better priced than some other spots. Not to mention, the patio is a nice touch. I can tell this place garners some regulars too, which is a good sign to me. Definitely worth checking out and supporting this local business.“
“10 stars! We're never disappointed. Warmth and friendly service, generous serving. The beef samosas is mouth-watering and savory. Dipped it in the green sauce- I'm thinking it's mint, ooh-la-la! Must try! I had the red kabob special- oh so good. The salad is perfect! Black olives, lettuce, thin slices of red onions, tomatoes and onions with a light an mild dressing. Do you sell dressing? Grab aewof the salad with some Beef and rice, it just a pot of deliciousness in your mouth. The beef Chapli is delicious too, milder and tender made from ground beef. Same goodness! Try it today. You'll be hooked! Thank you Khorasan!“
“I like the Bella Fruita for breakfast or the frittata / cheesy potatoes and mango iced tea. For lunch they have a good veggie burger or for those that like the impossible they have one of those too. When the weather is good, their outdoor seating is a great option.“
“The meat is so yummy and tender. This time, I had steak and chicken breast kabobs over French fries. Wow! It was so scrumptious I didn't have any leftovers. If you want your food spicy just ask, they'll gladly bring the ?. I believe RN Kabob and Gyro is the best in Rio Linda and beyond. Try it, you'll like it!Vegetarian options: Great salads,Humus, rice, falafels, and friesDietary restrictions: Good meatless food as wellParking: Park in front or back. I parked in front because I'm glad to show I eat at R and N and I want the world ? to know how good it is.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the baklava after dinner. Pretty pictures and nice pictures on the walls.Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp is in the front on the left. I bet there's one in the back, too.“
“I’m usually skeptical of places with reviews this good but the sheer number of high ratings this place had made me make the drive to try their food. The customer service was like no other. They literally grilled a plate of chicken for me to sample without us even asking. After we ate I was so full but I kept trying to just squeeze one more bite in because the food was just so damn good. You will not regret trying this place.I had to drive 30 minutes back to my house in bad traffic but that didn’t matter because I had delicious leftovers in the backseat that my mouth was gonna make love too when I got home.“
“Yummy Kabob is an absolute hidden gem. A mom & pop restaurant with deep Armenian roots. The food, no matter what you order, is exceptional. The setting is old-school, traditional. Great real food, prepared by great people. I can't recommend it highly enough. I go there all the way from El Dorado Hills; it's that good.“
“Really awesome spot to get a gyro! I got mine in a wrap along with a lemonade and I was not disappointed. The portion was great, the flavors were on point and the service was excellent. The food came out quickly and tasted fresh, the lamb and beef mix was great and the wrap was as well. I also got some spanikopita to go which was great and so was the frozen yogurt so if you like a good gyro check this place out.“
“I got the butter chicken plate in a combo with fries, my husband got the butter chicken gyro with fries. The butter chicken is very good and the rice is incredibly fragrant and flavorful. The salad that came with it had shredded lettuce, cucumber and a very nice creamy dressing. The fries are a less peppery and less greasy version of what you would get a Rally's/Checkers, very good. They play really nice relaxing synth-pop covers of popular songs that we also really enjoyed. The soda machine is in the dining area, so you can refill as needed. The person who took our order was super nice and helpful. Would highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: Nice, family friendly music, soccer on the TV, nice staff.“
“I was looking for a lunch spot before my PT appoint near by and this place came up in my google results. Its a little sandwich/wrap place in the lobby of an office building. The owner George was super friendly and the kafta wrap I had was great.“
“Everything I've tried here is fantastic. They give you very generous portions for a great price! Super nice people who own and run it. Even after moving farther away we still drive to get it! All their hummus flavors are delicious, such a cute hidden gem!“
“Sorry, no photo (s), it was that good! I got the lamb and rice plate and I was in heaven!!! I didn't realize I was that hungry lol I truly recommend Mykonos Gyros to anyone who wants incredible food with a taste of Greece ? OH boy will I be back as I work in the Arden area. This food truck was an amazing idea put into action in sharing a wonderful experience with your taste buds, heart, soul. Please stop by and support this great lady!!! She deserves love and happiness from food lovers. ❤️“
“I usually don't come into a place 15 mins before they close but I did tonight and I really appreciate that they didn't seem put out about it. I was somewhat familiar with what I wanted and the guy at the counter patiently answered my questions. Very good food and very good service.“
“food is great, got a chicken gyro plate and was pleasantly surprised on how delicious it was. my mom loved her lamb and beef as well.hummus and homemade tatziki sauces are awesome too actually.the owner is pretty nice and cool , easy to talk to.“
“Food was excellent but way over priced. Paid $17 for a lamb shawarma wrap with fries and a drink. The place was filthy and disgusting. I had to clean my table myself with napkins and hand sanitizer. There was food, dead flies, and garbage under the tables and along the floor.Vegetarian options: Falafel was incredible!“
“This is my husband's go to spot whenever he goes into the office. He always raves about their gyro salad, so I had to try for myself. Upon ordering, service was super quick! If you're in a pickle of time and want something delicious and hearty--this place is the way to go. We ordered their salad! Initial thought of their salad was that it was huge! I really thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I did. It was that good. The blend of flavors really meshes well, and it doesn't leave you feeling to bleh at the end. A right amount of everything. The tzatziki sauce was a great touch to the vinaigrette dressing. A little on the pricier side, but still think it's worth it.“
“I recently visited Cali Gyro, and it was amazing! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were so friendly. The gyro platter I had was delicious, with tender meat and flavorful tzatziki sauce. They offer a variety of other Mediterranean dishes too. If you're craving some tasty Greek food, Cali Gyro is the place to go!“
“I wanted to try authentic, traditional Palestinian food to show my solidarity with their people's struggle for freedom. I was visiting my sister in Sacramento, and she recommended Basha Taste of Jerusalem. They start you off with complimentary fresh baked flat bread and olive oil which tasted divine! We ordered the "Mansaf" lamb and chicken dish, and the "Maqluba" upside-down chicken and rice dish. It was absolutely phenomenal! The portions are very generous and we had lots of left overs to-go that tasted just as great the next day. I loved the interior décor and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town to try more dishes that are not common at generic "Middle Eastern / Mediterranean" restaurants.“
“This place is a hidden gem! Came here a couple months ago and had the lamb shank and was absolutely blown away by the generous portions, flavor and freshness! Came again for the second time to try their kabobs and was mind blown once again! Most Mediterranean places take a while to prepare the food but here it was surprisingly fast! Not only is it great food but also amazing service, the staff make you feel welcome and go above and beyond. I can't wait to go back!“
“Kabob House is a delightful surprise! I stumbled upon this gem while searching for another restaurant, and I couldn't be happier. The food here is outstanding – the kabobs are flavorful and cooked to perfection. What started as a chance encounter has turned me into a huge fan. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere make every visit a pleasure. If you're in the area, don't miss the opportunity to experience the culinary delights at Kabob House!“
“My daughter and I went here for the first time on Friday, March 1. We ordered gyros and I asked if they had any hot drinks. The Man said no but offered me some of the black Rea he had made for himself. I thanked him and declined because I am allergic to caffeine. We paid and went and sat down to wait for our food. It was rainy, windy, and chilly outside and it was nice to sit at a comfirtable booth. The Man brought us our food and it was delicious! A few minutes later her brought me a cup of saffron tea he had made for me. I was so grateful and thanked him and gave it to my daughter because I am allergic to Saffron too. He said he would bring me a cup of hot water. I thanked him again. This man went above and beyond. My daughter lived the tea and I enjoyed the hot water on a cold windy, rainy day.Great food and service.“
“I wish I would have taken pictures of my food but I doubt they would have done this review any justice. I ordered the chicken gyro, chicken Philly and a lamb/steak Philly via phone call and the person (male) taking the order was pleasant and articulate enough to understand him. He repeated the order back to me twice and asked if I wanted to make my food spicy and then made sure he had it down right and gave me an estimated wait time of 15. I got there 20 minutes later and my food was ready and I was immediately welcomed with a smile and a courteous “hi, are you here for pickup? “. I’m so surprised the place was empty and I was a bit scared that maybe it wasn’t a good sign but when I went in the car and opened my food I was pleased at how big my portions were meaning there was plenty of meat and chicken on my gyro so I know I wasn’t being ripped off like in other places where they give you 5 pieces of lamb or steak for the amount you pay . The food is extremely affordable compared to other afghan/ gyro places and the meat given is soooo much more compared to others too. My husband and I took a big bite and we couldn’t stop eating even after being full. The food was so good; the chicken was so juicy and full of flavor and it tasted fresh. I also need to clarify that the “juicy” part of the meals had nothing to do with grease or too much left over oil this place really knows how to make their food so delicious without feeling like you bit into straight up oil. I did not have any stomach issues after eating and it definitely wasn’t salty so I’d recommend this place to people with sodium restrictions. The two gentlemen went above and beyond from the first call all the way til my food was given to me with a smile. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving a “middle eastern” food item and for welcoming service. I do have ONE complaint and that is their parking availability, the entrance is tight and there is limited parking so I can see how this would be difficult to visit during rush hour times. Do try this place out!Dietary restrictions: Low sodium, customizable options“
“Most amazing Gyro i've ever had... Tender tasty meat lots of produce amazing garlic yogurt sauce with a fresh pita. Much much bigger than any yro i've had and much better, too. I got the combo with the salad and drink. It came out to $16 which is about the same price as a big Mac meal. But much healthier and tastier. The salad was phenomenal, and there were lots of fresh produce cucumbers. Tomatoes, onion's lettuce with great sauce and big portions.“
“This place is INCREDIBLE!! Excellent service, staff is sooooo nice. They even gave us some little extra treats! Our food was awesome--we all 3 got chicken shwarma and a side of falafels. Absolutely delightful. We'll be coming here again for sure!!“
“Wow!! Debbie, and Alondra were wonderful.I love coming in to see them smiling. So friendly and sincere every time I come in.And not once have I been disappointed by the food. Everything's always fresh and so good!!Definitely worth checking out. Thankyou for the great service!!“
“Okay...so I have been hearing about this place called Nick The Greek and I love Mediterranean food AND as it so happens, one opened right around the corner of my home. It is located on the corner near Sunrise and Madison in Fair Oaks. The manager (Alexis) was very helpful with choices and made my experience most enjoyable. The food was outstanding(I had the Lamb/Beef wrap and my wife had the Chicken wrap) both equally delicious. The service was on spot on and the people were friendly. It has indoor and outdoor seating. So, if you are in the area and hungry for some excellent Greek food. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed.“
“We cater quite frequently at work and this is our only go to once a month option. Food is always great, service is amazing and everyone loves when we choose this for our meal. We will continue to use him for as long as we can. I also get the badmash burger which is fire best burger ever.“
“I recently dined at the Mediterranean Family Restaurant in Citrus Heights and we had a pleasant experience overall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was good and had a nice authentic Mediterranean flavor to it. However, we did find that the rice served with our dishes was a little hard. Aside from that, everything else we ordered was delicious and satisfying. The service was excellent, with our server being attentive and accommodating to our needs. Overall, we had a great time dining at this establishment and would definitely consider returning in the future. It's a nice family-owned spot that serves up some tasty Mediterranean food. I'd recommend giving it a try.“
“The service was great and the guy helping me order was super nice and helpful when I picked my order. I got the mixed fries with lamb and chicken. The chicken is slightly spicy because it's marinated in some red spicy sauce. The lamb and chicken were both super moist and really nice. The sauces on top were super good and even though the sauce was all over, the fries weren't soggy and still crisp. I eat a lot and I barely finished the fries. You could easily feed two with one fry order. (I took the picture after I had already taken some bites, it looked a lot prettier than this)“
“Little place that mostly does delivery and hall rental plus catering. The staff mostly are Muslim, but I think they might be Afghan, because they knew little English, and didn't respond well to Arabic, French, Persian, or Greek. Dine-in was very limited, but the food was great. It mostly Greek, Arabic, and Mediterranean in substance. Probably hallal, but I didn't see that explicitly stated anywhere.Great food, not up to serving diners on site. We had to ask to get water, and they gave us bottled water. We ordered tea and had to ask for it several times. Still nice people, just very limited English. Moderately recommend. Order ahead, and get the food to go. Don't eat on site.“
“This place has reopened under a different name and very similar offerings. The management is incredibly nice, and the grocery aisles have plenty to choose from. They also have a counter serve restaurant in the back if the store with seating, and fresh baked breads that are delicious. They have freshly roasted rotisserie meats for shawarmas!“
“This was a big favorite of ours until it closed during covid and went out of business which we lamented greatly. The new owners have kept the name, most of the decor although we were told today a few changes in that are coming. The menu seems very similar to me and the lamb shank that I was so fond of was just as good. The two friends that went with me today had never been there and they both loved it and can't wait to go back. We all had the lamb shank and the eggplant appetiser.“
“Used to come here on a regular basis when I traveled to the area 5 years ago. Would sit at the bar and was treated as a local. Came back tonight, sat at the bar, I felt like a local again, thank you Mario for great dinner! Seafood pasta was delicious!“
“Came here on a Sunday night because the one on J Street was closed. Amazing falafels - no reason to get anything other than the namesake! We had a falafel platter, gyros platter, and extra side of falafel between three people and had plenty to take home. Gyros were flavorful and had a little crisp. Baklava and nut roll looked yummy but we didn’t have space. One difference for someone who’s environmentally conscious is that the J Street store serves food on reusable plates with metal silverware whereas here platters came on styrofoam, wraps in compostable containers, and sides and bowls in aluminum takeout containers with plastic lids. It’s a small but tidy dine-in space that filled up and turned over quickly when we were there. Amazing food and great value!“
“We were looking for an authentic Persian restaurant in the area and Kolbeh did not disappoint! My husband and I brought our 2 little ones with us which always makes me nervous in a fine dining situation but the staff was so friendly with us and kept the little ones entertained with the delicious bread basket while we waited for our food. We got the Soltani and Fesenjan with Bogoli Polo as the rice upgrade and it was DELICIOUS! I barely got to try the Koobideh because my 4 year old and 18 month old devoured it! The Barg was so tender and flavorful and by far my favorite! The Fesenjan was perfect and was completely gone by the end of our dish. The portion sizes are generous and the price is well worth the quality and flavor of the food. We will definitely be back!“
“The food was delicious and the service was even better. It felt like everyone that came in was treated like family. We had 7 with us and enjoyed the Greek fries, a couple gyros, a bacon cheeseburger, the Philly gyro and a classic cheeseburger. And a ton of fries. Everything was super flavorful and fresh. Thank you so much for a great experience.“
“I have to say this restaurant is all you will ever need when looking to enjoy the best Gyro and freshest hummus around!! Let me tell you the “All” meat Gyro is the most flavorful, tender and delicious ever meat I’ve ever had. I think I’ve had almost every Type of hummus made in my surroundings area and yet I give theirs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, when you taste their“Made fresh DAILY”, hummus with Pita chips you won’t go anywhere else again! The Customer Service is warming, inviting and polite, considering I had several questions when ordering “Amahd”, was patient and explained everything so I was able to order exactly what I wanted! The prices are great you can eat a meal and yet have left overs to take home they provide plenty to fill your hunger and NOT have break the bank when taking my family out. My family of 4 ate comfortably and even enjoyed some homemade baklava! This dessert needs its own paragraph it’s so yummy!! Flaky honey sweetness with a little crunch when I say if you can’t eat the Baklava right after your delicious meal definitely take it to go you won’t be disappointed it’s a perfect way finish an amazing meal from Restaurant owners that care and cook with there heart. So this is definitely our New top 2 picks to eat per myself as well as my family agree!!“
“Can I give these guys more than 5 stars? WOW! We got the Ode to Athens and Smokin' Chicken Bacon BBQ bowls and they were incredible.Fast, friendly service and WONDERFUL fresh food. Trust me- this crew will leave you smiling and well fed. Krazy props to them!“
“Everyone needs to eat here. The food is delicious, affordable, and so fresh! The people who run it are very kind and the the pita bread is fresh baked and still hot from the oven. This is a hidden Sacramento gem! My new go-to when I'm in this neighborhood.“
“Today was one of my coworkers' birthday, and so this is where our group took him to lunch! Never have I ever eaten Mediterranean food. I'm normally not a fan of cooked bell peppers and onions, but I decided to be adventurous and go ahead and try something new ? ? I was totally surprised about how much I really really liked it! I look forward to going to this cozy little place again! All the food is so fresh and flavorful. It was a very good lunch!“
“I've been eating Persian food from Famous Kabob since I was 13 years old. Over 32 years and I love my Joojeh Barg Basmati with Safron. Homemade Nan aka bread. This is Pele's Favorite Extra Sumac. The portions are quite generous my food is always fresh and hot. Chicken perfectly marinated seasoned and cooked tenderly. Not sure how people complain about prices. You can spend $20 on a nasty fast food meal or spend $25 and get delicious Persian Food that is enough for 2-3 meals. If I could I would eat Persian Food from Famous Kabob every day!!!“
“There pita bread side is to die for. Not sure if they add butter or olive oil to the pita bread but it's nice-warm and addicting. I buy their surf and turf plates. It can be a hit or miss the the meat portion size. Sometimes they give less meat sometimes they give the right amount.“
“I’ve ordered the same dish from here twice, the Chicken Gyro Plate, in the past two weeks. The portion is great, the food is delicious and worth a try! The location is a bit sketchy and the restaurant itself is a basic “take away” joint. The staff is friendly and quick. Rating 4 Stars because one day I went, the chicken was on the dry side and the next time I went, the chicken was moist and really good. It’s obvious the flavors and quality differ based on who cooks it. Yet I will go again, as it’s still worth it.“
