“Wow, truly an awesome place to eat. The price was more than fair for the quality and quantity of food I received. The service was above and beyond.... Friendly and very attentive to my needs and questions. I will most definitely eat at the Columbia House Restaurant the next time I'm in the area. And I have told many people about my great experience. Thanks for a spectacular breakfast.“

“Cute diner, friendly service and fresh delicious food“
“Gary was great and can only hope my future wine tastings are as fun and memorable. We talked about the local grapes and his experience as a bottler. We must have gone through 10 different wines (2 white and 9 reds) and was welcomed to more. The $10 tasting fee is comp'd with even a single bottle purchase. My friend was skeptical that they had practically a 5 star rating, but so glad we went and 5 stars is definitely deserved. As a wine neophyte, it was a great experience - I am warned that I should not expect anything even close this experience at other tasting rooms. Only one was a cab, the rest all different and fun wines. Highly recommended. will visit again and bring friends. Thanks Gary and Gossamer wines! What a local treasure. So unpretentious and welcoming.“

“Last August, I visited Camp Angel and Murphys with 4 friends, I discovered this little wine bar, and my fellow traveler said he could drive for me, so I had a cup of beer, it tasted so beautiful. So it was so much fun to find this unforgettable place on my map a year later...“

“Cute little spot with a cafe and a great gift and goodie shop! Friendly staff and reasonable prices and a GREAT bakery! Couldn't tell if the train ride is still operational... no kids around when we were there to justify it but if it is, that will make it even more fun for families looking for a treat or two. But kids or no kids, don't miss this place next time your near Tuolumne City!“

“Simple but exactly what we were looking for. Obviously not a lot of Thai options in Sonora but this place takes care of the urge. Fast service, good prices and all the Thai standards. Excellent peanut butter sate, chicken curry, and noodles. Not fancy, just good.“

“Classic diner food in a friendly gas station vibe. Staff were super friendly and accommodating (we split a burger). They nailed the onion rings, chicken tenders, and French fries. Definitely have to overlook the gas station environment but kids loved it.“

“As I drove through Jamestown, I stopped here for lunch. Very good food. Seating is intimate in this small restaurant on Main Street. It is located across from the National Hotel which is currently closed. Great place to have a bite and enjoy a nice cold Beer.“
“I love this wine produced from Aloria winery at their own vineyard overlooking New Melones Reservoir in Calaveras County. Come and meet Dave at the tasting room located across the street from the historic Murphy’s hotel. They have great tasting wines and many different varietals. They have a second label called ‘Above The Rush’ located in Vallecito. At Above The Rush, (the rushed life in the valley and Bay Area) they pair the wine with bites of delicious cheeses and herbs. Say hello to Veronica and Ryan while you enjoy your visit to our beautiful area.“
“Ironstone amphitheater and vineyards and museum are amazing. They have the US's largest piece of gold in their vault and it is absolutely gorgeous. I was totally surprised by how nice the museum and grounds are. It was my first time there.“

“We went to celebrate a birthday dinner, and there must have been close to or over fifteen of us. They had set us up in a nice very roomy spot. Which doesn't always happen when you have a large group. The service was amazing, NOT ONE of our entrées were confused or wrong. EVERYTHING was perfect, from the temperature, flavor, even to their presentation. Even the ambience was incredible. Exquisite dining experience. Looking forward to coming back.“

“Great place to stop! The historic vibe along with great food makes this place a must go. The burgers are epic and the salads are inventive! Also, don't forget to check out the fries--garlic or sweet potato are great! Service is always quick and attentive. This place has become our go-to spot when we are in the area.“
“Vina Moda is a great little boutique winery that is nestled in downtown Murphys California on a street with multiple winery tasting rooms. Red wines are the expertise here, and the winemaker makes quite a few big heavy reds that stand out. There's plenty of awards displayed showing his success and the ambience is a feeling of a castle like atmosphere with deep dark undertones. The tasting room personnel are very knowledgeable and give great service, letting you try flights of wines or just specific ones. This is by far one of my favorite wine makers in the Calaveras County area and I enjoy all of his wines.“
“Good BBQ excellent flavor and quality cuts of meat that are prepared in just the right way. The customer service was outstanding, and the product was exactly what I was looking for. Outside the rawhide saloon. Location is in Jamestown California Thursday-Sunday“

“Run, don't walk to this restaurant!! Awesome food and service! If i could give it 6 stars I would! I had the Grilled Elk Tenderloin with prawns. It normally comes with mashed potatoes, but I don't care for them so they gladly substituted mushroom risotto. Also came with fresh sauteed veggies. The meat was cooked perfectly, soooo tender. Risotto was spot on! Veggies are veggies, but they were good too. A totally sublime meal. My friends were equally impressed with their food also. Others had salmon, chicken cordon bleu and a corned brisket special with a yummy sauce. I WILL be running back to eat here again and will tell all my friends!!“

“Randomly stopped here while in downtown Sonora. I had their 3 plate combo - Crispy Taco, Sope, & enchilada. Great taste all around. I especially liked their green sauce. You get free chips and salsa - a major plus. They have a large collection of what seems like every possible hot sauce on the market.“

“This place is one of my date night staples. The service is always on point, and the food... THE FOOD. It's always delicious. Seriously, I've never had even a mediocre meal here. It can get pretty busy during dinner time, especially on the weekends, but the restaurant itself is pretty spacious and even has a back room you can section off for larger groups. Overall, this is my staple Mexican restaurant in town!“

“This is the best place in Columbia. The best pizza, the best music scene and the best staff. I was here when the bad reviews by J M and Cynthia B. were placed and everyone was nice and the situation did not happen that way. Everyone greeted them with kindness, asked how old there infant was, and the bartender greeted them promptly with a menu. They went to the pizza parlor side where there was a woman who was not even drinking, playing pool alone. As she went to make a shot on the pool table, the families small child walked behind and almost "hit in the head by the pool cue". Rather than grabbing the child, the man aggressively grabbed the woman playings pool cue and started screaming obscenities. Both adults proceeded to attack and insult the woman (in front of their children). The owner came from the kitchen and asked them to calm down, accept the apology or leave. They still continued to attack and remain causing a scene, and requested their pizza to go. They requested "Papa Murphy's Style" Take N Bake Pizza and that's what the owner made them. She treated them with kindness they didn't deserve. As they left they still continued to trash talk everyone around the entire way out to the parking lot. Aside from all of this they brought in their own alcohol. I think it's obvious to see the situation that occurred here. The whole thing was handled as best it could have been. These people were out of control and unable to understand how to act in public, let alone a restaurant with their kids.. We don't mind if they don't come back. We appreciate kindness , manners and respect“

“Like stepping back in time to the days of the gold rush. The service station ended up being a terrific choice for us to eat this evening. All of us got something different and all of us walked away very happy with our selection. The service station has that kind of "saloon" feel to it when you come in the door. And I mean that in a good way. Nicely refurbished to reflect a lot of the old style. There's a bar when you first come in and plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. The menu item of choice for me tonight was the "fish and chips". It's beer, battered Alaskan Pollock fish. It comes with homemade coleslaw and a choice of sides and I chose a salad. A very nice portion size of fish that was flaky and not at all fishy tasting. The homemade coleslaw was terrific, wish there was more in the cup. The salad consisted of lettuce and cherry tomatoes. I went with the blue cheese. Super friendly waitress with lots of good suggestions and very welcoming to us.“
“The Tasting room is underground, easy to find off main street. The natural rock walls make it a cool cave. We bought a red & white wine for gifts. Lucky for us, Todd's local sourdough bread was delivered there fresh, so we bought 3 loaves. We had never tried it before but heard it was the best. I agree! The staff was very knowledgeable, the owner I think. We were very pleased with our purchases & will be back when we have more time to try all the wines“

“Ate here for the first time last night. My husband and I arrived just after they opened at 3:00 with another couple. This was the first time the four of us had dined here. We were not disappointed, as we heard good things about this place. Great service at the fall bar when my husband arrived before our friends, and had a couple of drinks as we waited. We were pleasantly chatted up with the bartender and we felt very welcome. The humble atmosphere was "old school", as far as lay-out and decor. As a Boomer, this place reminded me of family restaurants we had grown up with during my growing-up years in the 60's and 70's that we loved dining at. We were all seated in a deep, comfy booth. The dining room was beginning to fill up quickly by 4pm, and you'll notice the dining room is very "tight" and tables close together, so you must be somewhat agile to weave through tight spaces. The staff is plentiful and they are bustling. We each chose from the Early Bird menu (selected dishes at the deep discount of two meals for $29.99 from 3:00-6:00pm) which starts out with good bread and fondue, delicious soup or salad; the entrees are flavorful and well prepared, desserts included. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. By 5:00 this dining room was full and because it is family oriented and tables closely spaced, be prepared for a noisy background, but somehow this brings a happy sound to add to the mix. Good date-place, but light conversation probably should be the topics of choice. My hearing is keen, but here, deep meaningful conversation should wait until you get back into the car. Bathroom facilities should probably get an update. But, other than that, great meals, friendly service, lots of attentive staff.“

“1. The food was great. 2. Service took long, I watched people come in after us and they got their food way quicker than my family. Yes, I know you might say reservations but it felt like 20 minutes waiting for food. 3. Ambiance, average American diner. Overall: Go here after church.“

“The atmosphere of this place leaves a lot to be desired, but don't let that deter you from eating the food! You can order by phone and carry out or you can eat in. Either way, the food is fantastic! The staff is friendly and helpful and always polite. This is my family's go-to Mexican restaurant. Reasonably priced, fresh, delicious food. They offer catering, too!Wheelchair accessibility: Maneuvering within the restaurant itself might be a bit tricky, but accessing the entry and the front counter to place an order is completely doable in a wheelchair.“

“My family has been ordering pizza here for over a year, usually twice a month. I order online, and always on Tuesdays for the $12.99 large pizza special (great deal!) It's so clean inside, the woman who works the front and back in the mornings always has a smile, and I've never had an incorrect order. We get the Gourmet Veggie pizza and it's delicious! “The food is DELISH here!!!! We were visiting the area for 3 days and ended up having breakfast there 2 days. We HAD to go back! They have the standard offerings as well as some creative and amazing options too. I highly recommend the Papa’s Hen House Hash, Country Fried Steak, or any of the Hash’s. They were great. Service was fast, personal, and knowledgeable. Looking forward to our next trip out so I can eat here again!!Kid-friendliness: Good place for kids. The servers were great with providing high chairs and have a kids menu. Didn’t feel out of place with my newborn and 2 year old. “Sonora Brewing Co., located conveniently within walking distance from Sonora Inn, where I am staying in downtown Sonora, offers a delightful culinary experience with its French dip sandwich and selection of craft beers. The French dip, with its tender slices of roast beef nestled in a soft bun and served with savory au jus for dipping, is a true delight for the taste buds. The perfect balance of flavors and textures makes it a must-try for any sandwich enthusiast.Pairing this delectable sandwich with one of Sonora Brewing's signature beers, such as their refreshing beer (apologies for not recalling the exact name), elevates the dining experience to new heights. The cozy atmosphere of Sonora Brewing, combined with its convenient location, makes it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers alike to unwind and enjoy a satisfying meal accompanied by quality craft brews. Overall, Sonora Brewing is a gem in the heart of downtown Sonora, offering delicious food, excellent beer, and memorable dining experiences.“

“Some restaurants balk when a large group rolls in. We showed up at just before they transitioned to a dinner service, but recieved excellent service none the less. The staff was amazing and went to great lengths to accommodate special diets in our group. Everyone said the food was delicious, and the desserts were also fantastic.I doubt I'll be back in Murphy any time soon, but if I am, I'll be sure to stop by again.Dietary restrictions: Staff went out of their way to make sure a dish could be made Gluten Free. They also were willing to accommodate a picky eater. There were several vegetarian options as well, including a veggie burger that was "much meatier than I expected".“

“The food was very good and there was plenty. We were the first ones in, so the help was still getting and putting things out. It was a cool day but the restaurant was colder, knowing that they opened the back door to allow the warmer air to come in, that helped.Parking: It's Murphy's, street parking is a bummer on weekends but there's plenty of parking in the back street.“

“The mixed bruschetta starter was amazing, especially the pesto one. I could have eaten a whole plate of those things!!!!!. For main we had the filet which they kindly split for my hubby and I. You just have to. Even if you think you don't have room, you will devote these!“
“Extended. We stayed in this hotel. We were spending a few days in San Francisco, visiting a relative, and along the way we made the occasional getaway to see picturesque places. In this case, within the scheduled excursion they had reserved a room at this hotel-restaurant. It looked like a Farwest hotel, I took a lot of photos, both the reception, room, common areas, etc. Reviewing them seems long to me. It was an experience that even after many years you remember the place. In this hotel where we spent the night, had dinner and had breakfast. In the morning we flew to the small town and continued the march. The photos accompany“

“This is my quick, go to, restaurant in Murphys. I call and order ahead, especially if there is an event going on downtown. I feel it is reasonably priced. I know I personally wouldn't keep going to a restaurant for 15-20 years if I didn't like it and Firewood I do keep going back because it's great. My favorites are the fish tacos and the arugula/ prosciutto pizza. I've tried everything over the years and those are consistently delicious . The super nachos with carnitas are delicious too and great for sharing. My husband likes the burger and has been eating there since it's opening. It's not fancy but it's a good place to grab a bite then continue on your Murphys adventure.“

“I'm a local who likes Chinese food and I come here pretty often. There are some better Chinese restaurants in the Central Valley, but this place is as good as many of them. I'll tell you that it's the best Chinese restaurant in the Mother Lode region. It's especially good for lunch. Prices are low, the dishes are more than satisfactory and they don't stuff you with lots of noodles or rice. You get a good meal for what you pay. I've never had a complaint about the service, either.“
“This historic hotel was everything I expected it to be. I came to experience some historical sites and The National Hotel stays true to its Gold rush era/Pioneer past.Rooms: The rooms are quaint. Wonderful vintage style of the 1850s gold rush era from the carpet to the wallpaper. Rooms all have bathrooms with shower. Beds are comfy and cozy with a teddy bear waiting to be hugged!!Nearby activities: There are plenty of antique and specialty shops along Main Street. I suggest bar hopping. You are close enough to a roadhouse across the street called The Rawhide which occasionally has live music on their stage.Walkability: The little town of Jamestown is walkable in five minutes. Everything is considered under the definition of walkability. ?Food & drinks: The National Hotel has a wonderful restaurant on the first floor with a beautiful front window to sit by. The salmon dinner was fabulous! The ambience and decor were very pleasant with lighting and flowers. Very romantic getaway for valentines day weekend!Noteworthy details: The staff were kind and knowledgeable. Our hostess for the evening "Rhonda"even gave me a brief history on the hotel and surrounding area as we walk to our room. Coffee and tea were available to us in the hallway which we enjoyed on the balcony looking over main street.“

“The yummmy smell in the air is what drew us to this gem of a restaurant. We found the restaurant to be really nice and comfortable with loads of great options on the menu. We loved every bite of our food and the service was also great. We can't wait to return to try more of the pizza options. The pizza was really well baked - we finished the entire medium Curry Chicken pizza - it was REALLY good. We also had the spinach ravioli - half marinara and the other half was pesto basil. Like I said before we can't wait to go back so we can try more of the menu. Lastly the restaurant was decorated really nicely and festive. We took a bunch of photos and selfies while in the restaurant because of the beautiful decoration and photo ops.“
