“This restaurant is amazing. The sandwich bread and scones were so fresh. Each member of our group ordered something different, and everything looked amazing and home made-especially the chicken pot pies, salads, variety of sandwiches and teas. We were a party of eleven and they were able to accommodate us sufficiently at a long table outdoors. I really appreciated the service and attentiveness. I know it is difficult to serve large parties, but they achieved this masterfully.“

“I moved to Sonora in July 2023 and quickly found Mandy's for breakfast. After making the rounds at a few places in Sonora. Jamestown and Twain Harte I settled on Mandy's as my go to. Here is why: the food is great and consistently so, the menu has variety and its vast, they serve dinner from Thursday through Sunday, the prices are reasonable enough that I can afford to go any day of the week for a good meal or two, but the best reason and the one that keeps me coming back is the whole group of people there. Clearly everyone enjoys and takes pride in Customer service. Mandy must be the cause. She quickly learns your name if you become a regular. Her service skills are above par as are those of EVERY person on staff. I feel like I'm eating with family at every meal. Today was my birthday and I was there for breakfast, get the pork belly Benedict. It's awesome. Like everything on the breakfast and lunch menu. Then I went back for dinner, try the red enchiladas, I got 2 chicken and 1 cheese. Added a glass of sangria. Yes the have a beer and wine license. Then I asked for what was on the dessert menu. When Morgan got to the fried plantains, I said stop I'll take those. But I asked for just a bit of ice cream. Mandy happened to be there and made a command decision that if I wasn't going to get much ice cream, I should have more plantains. Good call Mandy! Like I said on the way out it was more than I should have eaten. But I savored every bite! It was that good. Now a couple hours later I'm still full. There is a long list of locals and regulars who are quickly greeted by name when they walk in. I'm glad to be one of those. For a lot of reasons today was the best birthday of my life. Thank you Mandy and team for giving me a place to hang out part of the day. I simply love this classic diner that is just a couple miles from home and on the edge of Columbia State Historic Park. I'm glad I found a place where I could fit in.“

“This was our first time at this restaurant last Saturday. The food was very good and the service was excellent. All the waitresses very friendly. The portions work quite big looking around on the walls all the Italian and Sicilian pictures and things like that. I would definitely recommend this anybody going up to Sonora. be sure to get a box to go.“

They were so genuine and it touched our family's hearts. It's not everyday that we receive that type of service. They were so kind about separating all the tabs we had too. “We went to celebrate a birthday dinner, and there must have been close to or over fifteen of us. They had set us up in a nice very roomy spot. Which doesn't always happen when you have a large group. The service was amazing, NOT ONE of our entrées were confused or wrong. EVERYTHING was perfect, from the temperature, flavor, even to their presentation. Even the ambience was incredible. Exquisite dining experience. Looking forward to coming back.“

“Run, don't walk to this restaurant!! Awesome food and service! If i could give it 6 stars I would! I had the Grilled Elk Tenderloin with prawns. It normally comes with mashed potatoes, but I don't care for them so they gladly substituted mushroom risotto. Also came with fresh sauteed veggies. The meat was cooked perfectly, soooo tender. Risotto was spot on! Veggies are veggies, but they were good too. A totally sublime meal. My friends were equally impressed with their food also. Others had salmon, chicken cordon bleu and a corned brisket special with a yummy sauce. I WILL be running back to eat here again and will tell all my friends!!“

“Some restaurants balk when a large group rolls in. We showed up at just before they transitioned to a dinner service, but recieved excellent service none the less. The staff was amazing and went to great lengths to accommodate special diets in our group. Everyone said the food was delicious, and the desserts were also fantastic.I doubt I'll be back in Murphy any time soon, but if I am, I'll be sure to stop by again.Dietary restrictions: Staff went out of their way to make sure a dish could be made Gluten Free. They also were willing to accommodate a picky eater. There were several vegetarian options as well, including a veggie burger that was "much meatier than I expected".“

“Our wedding was in Sonora, CA on 9/9/23. Anyone who was in the area that weekend should vividly remember the very powerful thunderstorm, which was not in the forecast, even the morning of. One of the 1,000+ lightning strikes knocked out all power in the county from before 5pm until 5am the next morning. How in the world did Skye and her staff pull off the service they provided for our 175 guests? There were no tents and the food service was set up outside. There were no lights outside because the generators were being used for DJ and bathrooms. The only lights inside were battery operated uplights rented from the DJ for ambiance or battery operated taper candles in the candelabra on the tables. Our guests were fed absolutely incredible, delicious food and served wine throughout the night. She pulled off a miracle. Additionally, we used her in-house baker for our cake. First of all, it was delicious. But then in a crazy coincidence, in order to match the invitations and website, we made the strange request for a kintsugi pattern on in the icing. The baker knocked it out of the park! Hilariously, most of the guests mistook the kintsugi to be lightning which matched the skies that night! We also had Skye and her team cater our rehearsal dinner with an incredible paella layout with a carrot cake dessert. It was so delicious! If you get married or want to cater a party anywhere in the vicinity of Lila & Sage's Murphy's, CA kitchen, don't even bother to look for any other caterer. I wish I had good photos of all the food but it was SO dark in the hall. Our guests were just blown away.“

The salted caramel ice cream is the best.It's not cheap (spent 19.50 for three single scoops), but to be fair, I recently went to a chain ice cream store in San Jose and it was almost just as expensive. If you want cheap ice cream, eat at home.JoMa's is a fun place to stop if you're walking through town or playing at the creek.“

I got a mocha and my kid got a blended caramel coffee, both of which were delicious. The lemon scone was one of the best I've ever had, the glaze was tart and tasted so strongly of fresh lemon, the scone itself was a perfect texture. The chocolate croissant was nice but a little too sweet for me, it was still very good though. Their menu was easy to read, the service was good and they made sure to ask if we had any questions. I couldn't stay inside for long but it was clean and organized, there were many places to sit. Tables and couches were available. There were board games to play, and a shop space where they had small items and branded coffee cups. I will definitely be coming back and trying more of their products in the future.“

“The mixed bruschetta starter was amazing, especially the pesto one. I could have eaten a whole plate of those things!!!!!. For main we had the filet which they kindly split for my hubby and I. “This is my quick, go to, restaurant in Murphys. I call and order ahead, especially if there is an event going on downtown. I feel it is reasonably priced. I know I personally wouldn't keep going to a restaurant for 15-20 years if I didn't like it and Firewood I do keep going back because it's great. My favorites are the fish tacos and the arugula/ prosciutto pizza. I've tried everything over the years and those are consistently delicious . The super nachos with carnitas are delicious too and great for sharing. My husband likes the burger and has been eating there since it's opening. It's not fancy but it's a good place to grab a bite then continue on your Murphys adventure.“

“I'm a local who likes Chinese food and I come here pretty often. There are some better Chinese restaurants in the Central Valley, but this place is as good as many of them. I'll tell you that it's the best Chinese restaurant in the Mother Lode region. It's especially good for lunch. Prices are low, the dishes are more than satisfactory and they don't stuff you with lots of noodles or rice. You get a good meal for what you pay. I've never had a complaint about the service, either.“
