“An old school saloon inside a National Park, don't skip out on the vibes at Badwater while on your way to see the Mesquite Dune. Service was super kind and friendly--they offered us a high chair. We ended up grabbing a few items to go in order to have a picnic at the dunes and got a cheeseburger with the extra $7 for the double patty, which came in at $22. It was definitely a hefty cheeseburger. Nothing special, they definitely just use those cook from frozen larger 1/2lb patties, but they prepared it well. I'd recommend the cheeseburger and the fries were good! Mostly, just come for the saloon vibes. It totally feels like you're in some western when you're here inside the National Park!“

Wild Rose Tavern American •

“Found this place as a cheaper alternative to the buffet at The Ranch. The food was good, not really great, but a great value for the price. We ended up feeding 2 for less than the price of 1 person at the buffet. The staff was very friendly but kind of slow because it was slightly understaffed. Drink prices were definitely higher than other places in Death Valley so we avoided those tonight. Overall, probably the best restaurant in Death Valley, which honestly isn't saying much. If you have time to wait or can eat at an off hour, this is definitely the best place to go around Furnace Creek.“

The Inn at Death Valley Dining Room New American • $$$
CA-190, DEATH VALLEY

“Our party of 3 had dinner at the Dining Room on the only evening we stayed at the property. We were seated at a table in front of large picture windows overlooking the salt flats and mountains in the distance. We ordered the Fried Pickles, Caprese Salad, Chipotle Basil Pesto Pasta, Flourless Chocolate Torte, and Prickly Pear(?) Lemonade, and enjoyed the food, the service, and the setting. The House-Made Date Bread was delicious. Large portions; the three of us could have easily shared one order of pasta.Breakfast and lunch are walk-in; reservations required for dinner.Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian appetizers and one vegetarian entree available.“

“After reading mixed reviews about this place and bad reviews about the buffet, we decided to eat here twice. We had the roast chicken both times and it was very good. The service the first night was slow and inattentive, but then very good the second night. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time online.“
