“This was my third time going to makomae. I like the sashimi. They are fresh. It’s a little on the pricey side but worth every bite.
The first time I was there, I tried the beef tongue that I didn’t care for.
The second time I was there, I ordered the omakase. The server told me what fish I would be getting. One of them was Bonita. I never had sashimi Bonita and knew that I didn’t like cooked Bonita. When I tried the sashimi Bonita, I still didn’t like it..the rest of the sashimi was very good though.”

“Went on a lunch date with my cousin. Thanksgiving left overs weren’t enough for us lol!

Parking: They’re located in the corner of a plaza. Free parking lot. We couldn’t find a spot within their area, so we parked near the grocery store.

Ambiance/Environment: They have a very casual, warm, & welcoming environment. They also have a small space. There’s a decent amount of seating.

Service: Once you walk in, you’ll be greeted and asked whether you’d like to dine in, take out or pick up. We decided to dine in. Shout out to Jesse & James! They were very knowledgeable about the menu, courteous, and attentive! We ordered via the tablet and paid at the register in the end.

What we ordered:

1) Combo B - We decided to share the Yupdduk (jjajang spice level). This came with boiled eggs and veggie fries and sweated rice balls on the side. The veggie fries had the perfect crisp, the rice balls tasted as expected, and the boiled eggs were cooked well. The sauce was absolutely flavorful! The rice cakes were very fulfilling! Make sure to immediately mix the cheese!

2) Boneless Chicken Feet (appetizer) - We were told this was one of their popular appetizer. We ordered this mild. Their special sauce was also flavorful! The chicken feet were cooked well. Although I’m not sure what makes this boneless bc I bit into small pieces of bone .. lol.

3) Spam Mayo Rice Bowl (appetizer) - Another popular appetizer recommended to us. We really enjoyed this! Can’t go wrong with a classic dish!

4) Fish Cake Soup - My cousin wanted something soupy. The soup wasn’t too salty. It came with a generous amount of fish cakes. Perfect for the cold weather.

5) Salted Caramel Milk Tea w/ boba (100% sweet) & Mango Green Tea w/ Lychee jelly (0% sweet) - I really enjoyed my drink! The boba was okay .. some pieces were chewy and some were hard. We were told the Mango Green Tea already has syrup, so she didn’t want anymore sugar. It was still a bit sweeter than she’d like, but she did enjoy the lychee jelly!

Pricing: The prices are fair $$, especially for the amount that you get. Everything was so flavorful, rich, and fulfilling.”

“My friend and I had a wonderful time celebrating our birthdays. The food was amazing and the owner was great with us. He made us feel welcomed. Food was delicious and green tea ice cream was so yummy.”

“We were in the area and we looking for a place to have lunch. Seeing their Brunch Buffet sign, we decided to wait the 20min until their 11:30am opening. We were one of the 1st parties to get seated, and the restaurant is beautiful with a casual feel. They do have a banquet room next door that is open for private party rentals, and we were able to sneak a peak at the beautifully decorated formal banquet hall.

Their Indian lunch buffet was such a bargain and had sooooo many choices!! Everything was so delish!! My usual go-to's are lamb curry and vegetable korma, and theirs were sooo delish!! Thanks to the attentive staff, who were always quick to refill our waters, take our empty plates away, and offer us naan as needed.

“Tucked away in quiet street in busy Diamond Bar, behind the throngs of strip mall shops is a little Thai restaurant. The decor is calming and everything looked new.

Instead of a lunch special, I opted for a full meal and had plenty of leftovers. The Pad See You was excellent with chunks of chicken and flavorful. I also opted for the Beef Satay appetizer. However the portion was huge and dinner size at $15. I spent more than I wanted for lunch but had a second meal. Now that I’m closer to Mt Sac during lunch, I’m exploring all the options that busy Diamond Bar has to offer.

Skip the ice water and get the green iced tea. Yum.”

“We ordered the spicy hummus, garlic fries, beef shawarma, babakenush?, and cauliflower. My friend saw the baclava and had to try it. So we started with desser. The pistachio was very crispy and chewy and was my friends favorite. The walnut was sweet and chewy which was my favorite. Everything was absolutely delicious! The spicy hummus had a little kick at the beginning but as we ate we didn't taste the kick anymore. The cauliflower is lightly fried and so freaking delicious! I ate it by itself or with some hummus. My friend ate it with the babakanush and some cauliflower sauce and was in love. I tried her babakanush. I don't like eggplant but this was really delicious! Had a lovely garlic flavor that was slightly addicting. The garlic fries was just fries sprinkled with garlic powder but dipped it in the hummus and it was good. The pitas were really good too. I could've eaten more if I wasn't so full. But the beef shawarma was freaking AMAZING!!!!! We both said this was the best Mediterranean food we've ever had. I said no tomatoes to my beef shawarma which I'm glad I did. The flavor was absolutely amazing without it. Definitely 10/10 no complaints at all. And service was awesome too! So kind, friendly, and funny. I can't wait to come back again!”

“I was looking for an Oreo cake and this is the only bakery that had one near me. It’s inside the grocery store, near the right side entrance. Everything looked delicious and fresh. But best of all is the service! The kind man that helped me was so sweet and even gave me a few baked goods to go for free. It really touched my heart. Will definitely be back and recommend.”

“This pho place is quite busy. We dined here for the first time. It's a very typical Vietnamese restaurant. Nothing fancy, normal Asian service where you're there just to eat and go. Not much interactions between servers and customers.
The food is fine, nothing special to mention. One thing really stands out is their prices. They are able to keep their prices pretty low. Both of us had noodles and tea and the tap came out to be about $26. I think that's a bargain now days.
If you're hungry and just looking for something Vietnamese and don't mind the atmosphere or service, and budget is what you have in mind, especially for large groups than you come to the right place.”

“Surprisingly tasty! It's a hole-in-the-wall type of family restaurant. Food portions are substantial and rather affordable in price. Taste? Authentic mama type of cooking.

- Wonton: It is very good, but not the best in Socal like someone suggested.
- Pot stickers: The best dish today. Very crispy and filled with lean meat. Little fat.
- Porridge: porridge of the day is a sweet millet porridge. Not bad, very "Taiwan" like
- Steamed bun: lots of filling. Great baos.

This is Chinese food that caters to one type of person: the person who wants Chinese food but healthy, not greasy, without MSG. So if you’re the type who always thinks Chinese food is too greasy and heavy, this might just be the place for you. Because of this though, the flavors don’t taste as authentic.

XLB (pork): too sweet for me but the skin is very thin and so overall it’s not bad

Pan-fried pork bun: amazingly crispy bottom. No juice on the inside but flavor is good (not sweet like the XLB).

Potstickers (pork): definitely was not fried with much, if any, oil. Wouldn’t order this again.

Beef noodle soup: broth is very light but has decent flavor. Wide noodles are GREAT.

Gua bao: definitely not greasy and it was pretty big too. Flavors are fine.

Overall the food is not bad, but nothing I would go out of my way to have. The service is great, very nice staff both times I’ve been, and the place is extremely clean.”

I’ll never get wonton noodle soup at a different place again. I also love the packaging they use when you order to-go, it keeps the toppings and noodles separate from the broth and the steam from the broth keeps everything warm.
