“I've been wanting to come here for quite some time, so I decided to come with my girl friends for my birthday dinner. Upon arrival, they offer valet parking - otherwise, you're going to have to snag street parking nearby. The entrance as so beautiful and captivating. It felt so serene. Minimalistic, but with modern aesthetics. We were able to sit in the outside patio area. This area seats best for 4-5 people. They also have a private dining area for bigger groups available too. I took a look at the seating inside, which were mainly bar seating and table seatings for 2 options. The table seating for 2 did not look too comfortable, so I'm glad I came with a group instead of a plus one. We ordered the Blue Fin Tuna Crudo, Ponzu Oysters, Sesame Yellowtail Kingfish, Uni-Mentaiko Cream Squid Ink Pasta, and Miso Black Cod. For drinks, we ordered Carajillos, Lychee Martini, and Yuzu Margarita. We were pleased with all of our orders to share amongst the 4 of us. It was the perfect portion to share to try different things. We did order a second order of the yellowtail, since we did enjoy that more than the blue fin. Loved all the flavor from the uni pasta and the cod, but didn't really care for the green pea puree under the fish. All the drinks were great - we ordered 2 each. Jesse was our server that night. He was a delight. It was a slammed night for the bartenders and servers, but he made our evening very pleasant. He did mention that the building will also serve as a small hotel soon, which I thought was very interesting. Definitely recommend trying this spot out!“
“There is a master chef and a master mind behind the scenes in this small, unpretentious, well appointed Izakaya. If the layout seems a little odd the food and presentation more than makes up for it.The offerings are all unusual and tempting and if I were a full time resident in L.A. this would be my go to place for any worthy excuse.I loved every bite that I ordered and my only regret was finding the urchin risotto in the menu when I was already too full and satisfied. It will have to wait for the next time I am in L.A.But if you are a full time resident you have no excuse not to eat in this mini paradise.“
“idek how many times I’ve been here since 2023 September… this restaurant can be top 5 places I love and recommend to people in LA. The pricing might be a lil pricey, but that’s the only one thing u need to consider. Other than that, the vast majority of the dishes r super delectable. I love the tuna uni and Omakase bowls. The beef tongue was bussin. Aki tastes nice as well w caviar. The normal aki version might be a bit plain.“
“It was a very busy restaurant that only served Japanese food.I thought it was yakitori, but there were many other attractive menu items than yakitori. It's cost-effective and full of locals, so I think reservations are a must. When the bill came, it said 18% service included and there was also a section to write a tip.I still don't know which one this is. . .“
“We have visited here twice now. They validate parking as well. We've ordered the tofu sampler, beef tongue, yellowtail green onion cut roll, albacore and tomato, squid somen, grilled baby scallops, tuna and radish pickle cut roll, beef sukiyaki tofu, ume chazuke, corn tempura, cucumber with mentaiko. We enjoyed every dish we've ordered so far.We also ordered asahi and suntory draft to drink. The service is very attentive. We will continue to come back.“
“Great place to catch up with old friends for a Sunday lunch close to opening time. There's kpop playing inside and projection of kpop music videos too. We got the Ultimate Sushi Beach Roll, Shrimp Tempura, Gyoza, and Bulgogi Poutine Fries shared among three people. The food is a tad salty but the water refills are frequent. Evangilyn was our server and she was good.“
“Was in downtown Los Angeles with family and decided to check out it out as it was nearby. To be to the point it is a 5 out of 5. However there are certain things to be aware of. This is a place where you go to for flavor. Each dish was delicious but the price isn't cheap.Pricing 1/1You can expect to pay from 17 to 30 per dish.Portion 1/1They are a bit on the smaller side but surprisingly filling. Great for foodies but not so much for people that love quantity.Flavor 1/1Delicious, each ingredient was full in flavor and clearly defined. The sukiyaki was rich in both sweetness and beefiness. Shrimp tempura was an even amount of breading and shrimp. Udon noodles blended perfectly with all the other flavors.Service 1/1They are friendly and not overwhelming. Quick to explain the focus of their dishes and provide a bit of humor.Presentation 1/1You can clearly tell what each ingredient is and that it is presented to show highlights.Overall I would go again but will consider the pricing and aim for going with only select people.Parking: It is parking you pay for but can get validated.“
“Food We were a big group so I got to try a good number of options. Starting off with drinks, I got to try the watermelon high and yuzu high. The watermelon high was really fresh, and really came through with the watermelon flavor, but the drink was a bit too strong for me and kinda ruined the watermelon notes in my palate. The Yuzu high was the better drink for me, refreshing and just all around really good. For some starters, we got some rolls(taberu roll & spicy roll), kakiage, and gyoza. Overall, the starters were really good, the kakiage was crunchy on the outside and still really moist on the inside, the shrimp it came was a nice big piece and really juicy. The carpaccio was fresh, tangy, bright and balanced with the bitterness of the microgreens. The rolls were nice and fresh and the spicy roll was just the right amount of spicy. The gyoza was crunchy but still really juicy inside. For our entree, we got to try a variety of skewers, each one was a hit, but some more than others. Since they all came at the same, I couldn't really tell which was which, but the most of them tasted really good and all the meat was cooked properly and moist Service/Ambiance I liked the decor of the restaurant, giving of modern japanese omakase style vibes. Our server was really nice and accomodating and really paid attention to us and did a good job of explaining the food on the menu, which is always a pluis for me“
“This place has a good vibe. I normally come here to drink with a friend and we normally get the tteokbokki popcorn chicken. I've tried other dishes that are good here like the tteokbokki ramen and spicy pork belly which are good as well.We love Soju, so that's what we normally get. They also give you complimentary popcorn as soon as you sit down, so that's a plus! It's a good place to talk, eat, and drink!“
“began my culinary journey with a delightful skewer, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the sashimi plate. The freshness of the sashimi was striking, and each piece of yellowtail was a burst of flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the special wasabi sauce that adorned the sashimi, adding a delightful kick to every bite.Moving on to the yaki dishes, they were a perfect harmony of sweet and salty flavors. Each ingredient was tender, almost melting in my mouth like butter. The balance achieved in these dishes was commendable, making for a truly satisfying dining experience“
“Lobster roll is definitely delicious! Large tv screens and music playing... Plenty orders to go and I probably will be ordering that LR to go next time...the dining tables definitely need some dividers for a more popping, perhaps more date night ambiance...feels like everyone just kinda stares at each other...kinda like a small school cafeteria with open tables.“
