“The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The people here are very polite and friendly. There's very few seating but it's comfy. There's an atm which is cool. There's also no music playing which is awesome. I love being able to talk normally and enjoy ambient sounds.“
“Cash or debit card only? $0.50 if you use debit card. $12 Peacado Sopa (soup), and $2 pastor taco with handmade tortillas. They had only limited protein options for soft tacos today, Sunday noon. Tacos were okay but I do enjoy hand made tortillas. Soup was comforting, and simple. They offered alot of fish it it so I definitely will be back for that! Located by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf with outdoor seating. There was indoor seating in here too though.Apparently this place is known for their tortas, cakes and being a breakfast place. Limited English, and open to looking at my Google translate. It is east LA and LA in general, so most ppl can pass with their LA spanishlish and elementary 2nd language Spanish taught at most school. I have allergies, so it becomes complicated to ask about each item. Google translate is the best!!“
“I love old restaurants. In this case, an old "classic" Los Angeles bakery, It's been around since 1949. I always noticed while grabbing food in East LA, but the crowds looked intimidating. I visited on a week day evening where I found parking right in front of the bakery. I am constantly tasting conchas and wanted to taste their conchas. You fall in line and tell a lady what you'd like. Once I got to the counter I asked what do people order here? She told me: "mantequilla" I knew she meant the buttery Mexican croissant. What you'll want to order from this long standing Mexican panaderia is the "cuerno de mantequilla." This piece of pan dulce is heavy unlike the French croissant. I assume it's because of all the butter in this pan dulce. It heavy, buttery, slightly sweet, and slightly crunchy on the edges. I'd skip the conchas as I've tasted better. The rice pudding is also medicore. You can find better rice pudding making it home or picking up the freshly made ones at Vallarta. They ran out of champurrado so I'm assuming that's popular too. This is essential LA! Go support our old restaurants and bakery and let's keep them alive!“
“The best memories I have of this place! Since I was a little girl, my dad tried to spoil us with Cuban cakes! He worked there for a long time! Adolfo arizmendi! But we moved somewhere else' and since then I haven't eaten them! But soon I will enjoy the delicious fresh waters again! And Cuban cakes!! The truth is that they are the best!“
“Its a beautiful cosy place, takes you back in time. The cakes, as you can see in the video look delicious (didn't try one though). We had the lemon pancakes which were AMAZING, also the breakfast burrito which was really delicious as well and very filling. Their coffees were also flavourful and strong.Lastly, salmon with potato pancakes..which I personally didn't really like.. they had a funny taste.. quite soggy.. something about the salmon? Or the eggs? I didn't understand but unfortunately has a weird and not good taste.“
“Where else are you going to get your Zhengyalov Hatz?!Where else can you go that the only question the cashier asks is "how many?"This place is just selling their one herby thing, and damn do they know how to make it. A nice quick pre-movie snack“
“The doughnuts here are very interesting and unique. They are pretty good a little busy and definitely bougie. I would recommend giving them a try. They are very pretty but they have a lot going on. The s'more doughnut was quite delicious.“
“AMAZING Expect waiting outside, party of 2 was 20-25 min Saturday afternoon and cannot call in to be added to it. Everything on the menu is great but the French toast, pork belly fried rice, and strawberry tea were the best. Limited seating and one restroom but highly recommend.“
“I just discovered this store and it has everything I could ever need! Staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. She was able to answer all of my questions and thankfully they had the item I needed. I will definitely be coming back for all my baking needs.“
