“Its a beautiful cosy place, takes you back in time. The cakes, as you can see in the video look delicious (didn't try one though). We had the lemon pancakes which were AMAZING, also the breakfast burrito which was really delicious as well and very filling. Their coffees were also flavourful and strong.Lastly, salmon with potato pancakes..which I personally didn't really like.. they had a funny taste.. quite soggy.. something about the salmon? Or the eggs? I didn't understand but unfortunately has a weird and not good taste.“

“"Sippin from your cup 'til it runneth over..." I heard JT performed at the Wiltern last night for free so I had his music on repeat in my head all day today during work. So of course I had to stop by here as soon as I saw the store name. I did NOT expect to find the best donuts I've ever had in my life. Period. I walked in and was greeted warmly and decided to just order the Original Sin and their version of classic milk. They were so nice and gave me another donut for free which was the Obrama. Everything was so scrumptious. I loved that the donuts weren't too big. The quality of the donut is so good that it only needs to be a smaller size to have the same effect as something larger. The outer texture and the crispness reminded me of the blueberry m&m donuts that they sell in OC where people line up for hours to buy. The donuts here taste better because the inside texture is a lot lighter and isn't as dense so you don't feel disgustingly full afterwards with regrets. I cannot wait to come back and get some for my family and friends. I wanted to test it out myself first prior to sharing with others. Yum! Also their classic milk was soooooo good and complimented the donuts so perfectly.“

Offered to warm up the cinnamon roll, which they did, but barely.Cinnamon roll is massive and delicious, as is the frosting. Baked eggs also very good. Very small dining room with just about four tables, so not a lot of sitting area. So again, great for the food just not for the service.Kid-friendliness: kid friendly but small venue“

“I must have died and gone to doughnut heaven. The donut texture is fluffy with a pleasant slight chew, and not oily or too sweet for the most part. Most were priced $4-5 each but I find it worth it for the quality of the ingredients. Our favorites are the misugaru (roasted soybean) because it's mild and nutty and has a chewy filled mochi inside. The black sesame is also intensely nutty with a chewy mochi inside too. My wife loves the sweet potato cream the most because it has fresh sweet potato puree along with milk cream, and it's the Korean/Japanese sweet potato that's delightfully sweet and nutty.Tiramisu had plenty of rich cocoa powder accompanying the tangy cream (probably cream cheese mixed in it?). The bitterness of the cocoa was the best together with the cream. The strawberry milk cream had a small amount of strawberry pieces but the cream was so milky rich yet light at the same time. The blueberry one is the exact same except with a few blueberries so I slightly prefer the strawberry one.Matcha creme brulee had strongly flavored matcha cream but I'm not too much of a fan of the sugar crust top. I might still try the regular creme brulee next time to compare the regular custard. Our least favorite was the apple cinnamon because the icing was too sweet but the presentation was beautiful with the pieces of apple inside. We saw quite a line build up after us at 10am so I'd come early since they open at 9am until they sell out! The parking lot is nice and big so it wasn't any trouble finding parking. The mall also has other interesting stalls like a kimbap and udon one if you need some savory to offset the sweet.“

I loved the light that comes through the trees and that they offer free books to read while you're there! I thought the goat cheese/spinach croissant and sweet cream matcha drink were both very delicious and would recommend trying. The only thing I would say is parking is limited so you'd most likely have to park down the street in the neighborhood. Also, there aren't a lot of tables, so it is kind of hard to eat what you ordered. For example, I came here with two friends, where we each ordered a drink and croissant... and we only had one tiny coffee table to balance everything haha. The service was good and it's dog-friendly here too. It was kind of loud when we were here, so this cafe would be a decent spot for light-reading/studying or just a place to chit-chat!“

Wedding Cake

“Bomb cakes. They put fruit on them. Bread is really soft on the cakes. Customer service is good extra nice. If your a sweet tooth and would like to try some small cakes I recommend you trying the chocolate mousse there small but worth it. You won't regret it especially if you have a upcoming babyshower, birthday, a special event you name it. Small place for parking because of other business. You can find parking outside if you find any.“

“I loved my iced hazelnut latte. I felt like the coffee quality is much better than a commercialized place (obviously!). There was a good selection for coffee and teas. Matcha brownie is something I will have to try next time. Even though there was only one person working at the counter, I still felt that it was all prepared in a timely fashion. Seating is limited but you can tell locals like this place. It was filled with people in a relaxed atmosphere when you walk into the coffee shop.“

“Fans of scone!! You must come here!! This place has some of the best scones in LA. Crispy on the outside and plush and buttery on the inside. The rosemary fig flavor is to die for! I also tried the earl grey, which could have had a stronger earl grey flavor but it's all good. I can also report that they make a solid cappuccino, which I think is very telling of good coffee in general. The vibes of this place are perfect for meeting someone or working/studying. There is lots of seating inside and a beautiful patio with lots of seating outside too. It has the ambiance of a quaint bookstore without having any books. Service was great.“

“I have been a regular customer at Nice for at least five years. Getting my morning coffee here is always a treat, both for the impeccable coffee and for the customer service. The staff is warm, and the vibe is always light, even though they are working hard. They're located in a busy plaza in DTLA. They receive all kinds of customers and treat everyone well, and efficiently fulfill orders. I cannot speak more highly of Nice, the coffee, and the people that work there.“

“I saw Rockenwagner on an Eater's best-of list and was also recommended by a friend. My experience here was just okay--not great, not bad...kind of unremarkable. My partner and I ordered a few pastries to go (a lox and everything bagel Danish, a bear claw, and a pretzel), a loaf of their raisin pecan bread, and two entrees--a pretzel croissant breakfast sandwich and a pretzel bun burger (It was 11:30 AM and we wanted the best of both pretzel worlds). General thoughts: Entrees: I am a pretzel lover and the pretzel bun and croissant didn't scratch the itch. Maybe it's the lack of lye flavoring? The burger and sandwich were both decently cooked and made with fresh ingredients. I truly think it is criminal that a breakfast sandwich costs 15 dollars nowadays, but hey, welcome to LA/Southern California. Pastries: We made the mistake of waiting to eat the pastries until the next morning. They lost that day of freshness, so that's 100% on us. The lox/everything bagel Danish was beautiful and such a creative idea, but it was missing something...and ultimately made me want to eat an actual lox and bagel. I don't remember what the bear claw tasted like but remember that it was filled with frangipane. The pretzel was probably my favorite out of the bunch, but I think there was too much cheese on it (which is rarely an issue). Bread: The pecan raisin loaf is pretty good toasted with butter. I am not sure if it is baked the same day it is sold (or even baked on-site?), as the loaf was packaged in an additional layer of plastic. I wish it had more of a crusty exterior/soft interior that most fresh artisanal loaves have. Rockenwagner's fine and I would like to come back to give it another chance, but with Lodge Bread so close...“
