“Very good authentic Italian with attentive service. A kind of noisy, though, with their hard floor not helping the situation. It didn't help that we had a very loud group of four right nest to us.Would highly recommend except for the noise factor.“
“Time and time again…. Over several years… we have always appreciated the amazing servers and incredible food. The specials are just that…. Special …. And should always be considered. This is our “go to” restaurant for a night out. Thank youKid-friendliness: People friendly….. which is even better than kid friendly“
“I got a few pies on a last minute order, and they were speedy and efficient and delicious. Easy parking too! They are also super if you want just a slice. Outdoor seating and friendly staff. My son rated this the best pizza in the country for what it's worth :)“
“After the long walk at Point Reyes, glad to find 711 store on our way back. We were super hungry and tired but after parking in front of the convenience store, we smelled aromatic olives & bread and found this warm cozy pizza house beside 711. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Their pizza is thin crust the way we like it! Worth to cap the day trip!“
“Very upscale and has a beautiful view of the bay Bridge and SF sky line. The view compliments the food. Good collection of drinks. Went out with my work team and none of them had any complaints.I had the salmon and it was really good.Desserts were good too“
“We got the first table as you walk in the place and felt cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food quite good. The chef's complimentary chocolate truffles for the restaurant's 10 year anniversary were excellent. We will certainly be back!Dietary restrictions: Our friend is gluten free and was happy with the available options.“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is excellent, very European in presentation and portion size, with good variety. The staff is extremely professional, and will likely remember you on future visits. Atmosphere is very warm and comfortable.“
“Wow. My new favorite restaurant. I moved to the area three years ago, and how have I been sleeping on this place? They have everything dialed in: great service, fun atmosphere, and the most crave-able cuisine. Two weeks later, I'm still thinking about my chicken parmesan with the sneaky kick, and my boyfriend's tender, perfectly seasoned filet. They do the classics, but find ways to surprise you. Whatever you do, do not skip dessert. The coconut citrus pie, I want to say, is something between a key lime pie and Basque cheesecake, and it is one of the best desserts that I have ever tasted. Also, this might not be the first place you'd think to go for a perfect margarita, but the bartender can make you one. Shout out to our waiter, Brian, who was attentive, funny, and made us feel right at home.Parking: The hour that we went, the parking lot right across the street was free.“
“This is the best restaurant in San Rafael and they have a lot of nice ones here but this place is perfection. Food is amazing. They are fast and the service is (only) the best service you have ever experienced. That’s all. Just that.Do yourself a favor, and go here and treat yourself. The prices are very reasonable but make sure you are kind to the staff and tip generously and they will make your night really magical and special. Thanks guys. I love your love, even though Valentine’s Day is not my favorite day to go to dinner. At least when I have to go there alone. ?❤️? Vegetarian options: Look at the menu.Parking: Parking is abundantKid-friendliness: They are friendly to kids“
“I crave the gnocchi here and I don't even like gnocchi. My kids were mad when they had their fries and said now all other fries are ruined for them. Their Crudo is proportion is tiny but delicious. Had the most Marin kind of pizza - the kale with roasted garlic and it was delish. I could go on...but I need a nap now...“
“You've got to check out this little Hidden Gem. For anybody who has lived in the Marin area, you've probably tried this place and kept it to yourself. From the outside, it is very unassuming. You might even pass it up, but don't. This little Italian star is a must stop place. The authentic Italian cuisine and ample Wine Bar match the elegant decor within. Our server was an older Italian gentleman. He is quiet, direct, and efficient. He made sure we were well taken care of despite how busy things were and never made us feel rushed. My guest and I shared one of the best Caesar salads I have had in a long time. I then had the Tortellini Toscana (Veal & Prosciutto) prosciutto, peas, and cream. Divine! I love the taste of fresh made tortellini. My guest had the lasagna and was impressed with the flavor and texture.Lunchtime is busy, so be prepared. The best part of all is the price. $20 to 35 pp without alcohol.I can't wait to go back and sample many of the other dishes. I promise to get pictures this time.Buon Appetito!“
“One of my favorite places in Novato. Its small, quiet and dark and it has a piano! The selections and service are top notch! I've been coming here since it opened and surprised that you can get such a high quality dining experience in the shopping plaza location that it's in.This is a testament to its owner/founder, Munther. You can tell he sweats the details and it all pays off. The ambiance is what you'd expect of a boutique steakhouse. It features icons of yesteryear and backs it up with top notch service that you don't find anymore. The soft piano in the background is a really nice touch and makes you forget that you are in a chaotic shopping plaza. The quality of meal is really top notch. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've had their pork chop (amazing), Tomahawk (amazing as well but bring a date) and of course the ribeye are, you guessed it, AMAZING!I love their sides too. The creamed spinach is a wonderful treat, truffle fries, whipped potatoes and the roasted Yukon potatoes are killer. Dont forget the side of green beans!Anyhoo, if your in the South Novato area and want an unexpected fine dining experience, dont hesitate to look up the Board Room!Parking: This shopping plaza is chaotic at times lol“
“For me. Solid 4.5. Went back with my family. Really enjoyed the food. My son enjoyed the burrata appetizer. I enjoyed my salad. I really enjoyed the gnocchi. My son had the orecchiette and enjoyed it. My wife and daughter had the fired chicken and both like it. Quaint little place. Try it.“
“Good food, but not as good as I remember. Everything was well made, but I wasn't a fan of the seafood platter. It tasted very gamey. We got 2 apps, the garlic bread and the ceaser salad. Both were good. I got the seafood platter, and my girlfriend got the beef stroganoff, the special of the night. I think they should move it to the main menu as it was perfectly cooked and the flavors were immaculate. Nothing was overpowering, and the beef was tender. We also got the creme brulee and the apple pie. Both were good, but I was hoping for a crisper crust on the apple pie. Service was amazing.“
“Been going here all my life and every time I come back to Novato I also stop by. It's one of the few resteraunts that quality has remained since my childhood. There is a reason this place is packed during lunch amongst the two high schools it's great quantity and quality for the price. Not to mention the workers there are extremely kind and welcoming.“
“I had an amazing dining experience at Via Piccola Trattoria! The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, and the service was top-notch. But the real star of the show was the food - specifically, the Deluxe Pizza. It was absolutely perfect! The crust was crispy, the sauce was tangy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the care that went into crafting each bite. If you're a pizza lover like me, you won't want to miss this gem. Five stars and I can't wait to go back!“
“do you want to have a super Duper unbelievable delicious prime rib sandwich on a Friday afternoon come to peace 881 club or come Thursday night for the full primary dinner for like less than 30 bucks that's half the price that anywhere else you would go and it's delicious and the bartenders are awesome and on Friday they use the leftover prime to make the real thin slice prime rib sandwiches. They're like 17 bucks. They were double.“
“Oh goodness this place was INCREDIBLE! We found it from searching for food in Sausalito and I’m so glad we did. It has the calmest, warmest ambiance and felt welcoming to us with our young kids. The servers and owners were beyond kind and the food was out of this world. The caprese appetizer was extremely flavorful and the pizzas were perfection. Couldn’t recommend this enough.“
“My husband and I reserved Gaspare’s side dining room for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Daniel, the owner, was so responsive and informative throughout the planning process. On the night of our event, the restaurant staff were so kind and attentive and made the night flow so smoothly, and the food was great. If you are looking for a restaurant in Marin to host a private event, I cannot recommend Gaspare’s enough!“
“I'm long overdue writing this review. I have visited Servino's four times over the years (when I'm in Tiburon...I live over an hour away), and I look forward to visiting the restaurant at their new (former) location. The staff make great recommendations for what's good from the menu as well as wines to accompany the dishes. Delectable Italian dishes, great wines, welcoming service (they make guests feel like family), incredible views, and their famous Opera Nights make Servino's a special place for any occasion, even if it's just because you want to relax over dinner and a sunset.“
“Fun neighborhood-type place. We always feel welcome and happy at La Locanda. The Caesar salad actually tastes like anchovies and the Parmesan makes the dressing a little creamy. All the Pinsa is delicious. We've tried them all and enjoyed each variety. Re wine, If you ask for a mineral-ly white, they will recommend and you'll be happy. All the dishes the wait staff carried by us looked tempting. All the wait staff is friendly. One problem: the focaccia is so good that it's hard to stop eating it.“
“I recently dined at this fantastic restaurant and it exceeded all expectations. The staff was not only friendly but also attentive, making the dining experience truly delightful. The menu showcased a perfect experience of true Italian cuisine, each dish crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. The warm and inviting environment added to the overall charm, making it an ideal spot for a memorable meal. Here's to the continued success of this remarkable establishment - a gem that deserves all the accolades it receives.“
“Absolutely the best! I had the calzone, and we have had the pizza previously. The food is superb! 000 flour from Italy is a nice touch for the freshly made pizza and pasta. We were enjoying lunch and I couldn't help but wonder why we ever eat anywhere else. The café has a small indoor space and beautiful, outdoor seating. The host/waiter was very kind and patient as we debated what to order. Everything looks so good! As it turns out, I was debating between the salad and the calzone, and the calzone comes with something like a salad on top of it.??“
“I took my girlfriend out for Valentine's day and was very happy to get reservations the day before, Neither of us had been there before and it got great reviews. The restaurant was very nice, and exactly what I wanted for our special night and the atmosphere, service and quality of food lived up to the reviews. It was quaint, quiet, seating perhaps 25 guests. Service was great , food was delicious, and we had a very nice dinner and I would recommend them wholeheartedlyThe only things I can say that were negative were the parking. Ross has parking spaces in a very limited supply in that area which is not the restaurants fault. The other was the cost, the reviews on line gave $$$ out of 5. I did not want the price of our meal to put a damper on our evening, so I was not caught unprepared when the bill came. I have no problem spending money taking my girlfriend out, , but in this case the cost would make me think twice before returning again. Let me explain - We were having a romantic dinner we shared a salad, and after dinner a wonderful dessert with coffees. She had a glass of wine , I had a beer, with our dinners ,all said and done with tax and tip was 150. Like I said everything was great , just a bit pricey for Italian food for 2 people. Keeping in mind the cost of living has gone up the last 3 years , and we are in Marin, plus being Valentine's Day all played a part in the overall cost. I am glad to see places to dine out are still out there trying to make it after COVID shut so many down .Go try the place out ,eat, drink and make merriment. Decide for yourself if the bang is worth the bucks you spend.Parking: Evening after 530 pm parking is not as bad.“
“i ordered to go a veg pizza with pepperoni and it was so good one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I decided to wait at bar for my food to go and the bartender is really super unfriendly and not very good at communicating and it's almost like he doesn't want to serve you. he doesn't like his job. don't go to the bar get a table. I will be back for pizza but not the bar.“
“We went in for dinner late evening. Staff was excellent service. kudos to the chef for a delicious and awesome meal. fresh pasta is always the best. Cant wait to go back. They have a nice outdoor patio. Look forward to trying it once it cools enough to be outside.“

“Outstanding food, authentically Italian, incredibly fresh ingredients. My little gems salad with anchovy was one of the very best salads I’ve had. All our dishes were excellent. Portions were large, flavors popped and presentation was attractive. Only negative was that the server seemed to have too many tables, as we had a very long wait between menu presentation and ordering. Overall, this was as good as expected, and I definitely recommend. Poggio has been a top restaurant for many years, and the praise seems deserved.“
“My pal'et Chapstick Betty just got out of the hospital with a cast on her foot because she didn't pay attention in paratrooper school and landed incorrectly. She calls me and asks if I can bring her a salad from The Village Italian Restaurant. Sure, I tell her...I'll leave Napa right now, go to Navato to pick up a salad from The Village Italian Restaurant, and bring it all the way out to you in West Marin. The salad sure looked great, and Chapstick was her typical self...she gave me 6 dollars for my time.6 whole dollars! The salad was ☆☆☆☆☆ delicious.“
“Attended BuckLuckyfest at this wonderful venue. The staff is great the owner, Olympia , is fabulous! A great place to have an event or party. The food is good and Austin mixes up your favorite cocktails. Tonight a $5 cover gets you in to see live bands play, shop vintage clothing and check out other vendor booths or hang out in bar area and watch sports. Event ends at 10pm.“
“We arrived just in time for our reservation. Parking was right next door. We could tell this restaurant was where all the locals assembled. It was fun to watch old friends greet each other. Unfortunately several of the nightly specials were already sold out. We shared an appetizer, salad and entree. It was all delicious. We only have one complaint - it’s really loud. Be aware if you wear hearing aides.Parking: It’s right next door. BUT you must get your car out before 9pm!!!!“
“Delicious food, I don't eat meat, but I got the "Pomodoro" and added mushrooms. The selection of wine was decent, but the dessert is worth everything.Small place, tight parking, but the atmosphere becomes intimate as the sun goes down.Service is good, and they have a wine bar.Vegetarian options: The menu shows you options with each meal“
“We had a great experience at Rocco’s. We were visiting from out of town and craved pizza after a long hike. The pizza was excellent—high quality toppings and delicious crust. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. It felt more like we were guests than customers. We will definitely come back. They have a great patio and lovely interior ambiance.“
“This place is absolutely amazing. Best value pizza in Marin. I recommend getting Sicilian as it is massive and amazingly tasty. We come back often, and while it’s not Michelin star level pizza, it is very solid and gets the job done.Vegetarian options: Plenty of optionsParking: Plenty“
“One of the good pizza’s I had for a long time :)Pizza place is in the very beautiful city of San Anselmo. We were a group of 20 and had could manage to sit together. Order was pretty quick and both kids and adults loved them.Portion size was standard and yeah not to mention the only pizza place I could find Oregano too on the table which was a pretty happy surprise for me :)Must recommendedVegetarian options: Good vegetation pizza available specially pesto one.“
“My husband & I used to be regulars at this restaurant until we moved out of Fairfax and further north so it's been a while since I have been here. I went last night for dinner with my sister and we had a fantastic meal. The server was very attentive and patient. He was great answering our questions and held one of the appetizers she had ordered to keep it warm until I arrived. Very nice. The only thing is that now that I'm vegetarian, there weren't a lot of pasta options and I ended up with a margarita pizza. It was yummy so no complaints, but I would love it if some restaurants in Marin would start to make more of an effort for vegetarians and vegans, especially since more and more people are going at least partially plant based. I have to say that it is the running joke for me with my friends that when we go out to eat, I have the choice of a mushroom dish as an entree unless I decide to do salads or apps. There are so many other things to do for plant based appetites than mushrooms and butternut squash. And I feel like Italian should be one of those restaurants that can really do a nice job with non-meat dishes. Okay, that being said, we had a great time, the apps and wine were delicious and the dessert, Tartuffo, was as delicious as I had remembered.“
“Outstanding.Would describe the restaurant lay out as being just the right side of minimalist or less-is-more, yet still warm and inviting. The staff were simply wonderful; attentive but never intrusive, knowledgable, and reminding me of the professionalism you see in a 1 star establishment. Note: Extra special thanks to Buffy.I sat on a high chair/counter next to the kitchen to watch Chef and his team. The bread and butter (so often a let down) was delicious. I was a bit worried about their interpretation of the steak tartare appetizer but it was a revelation..highly recommended. The carbonara was also delicious, as was the wonderful Pinot Grigio which was very well priced. Pizza looked very good (not my thing). I would describe the overall restaurant vibe/atmosphere as convivial and relatively subdued, with everyone focused on the fabulous quality of the food.I am literally returning this evening. It's that good.“
“So we went on the busiest day... Valentine's!The service was stellar! Bread water and details to attention was immaculate! We sat in the back room it was a flashback in time kept well! The kids had Shirley temples that were enormous! I loved our wine glasses...so adorable - Now the food quality was robust! Be hungry when you come because you will want it all. We did the Cesar salad/ shrimp L. Salad Mushroom Omelette/ spaghetti with meat sauce/ fettuccine and/ classic cheese burger - Bravo to the cooks for excellent dependable food that warm the heart and make our bellies full!“
“The fried calamari was soft and delicious. The sauce served with it was not too salty. Highly recommended.Carbonara was delicious, but it was not a typical taste, but a unique style that I had tried for the first time. Recommended.Punggi Pizza was pan-style pizza, not oven-style, and it was thick and the portion size was average. They came and checked between meals, and when I asked a question to a staff member who had some difficulty communicating in English, another server came to check again. It was nice to be able to have a quiet meal even though it was a weekend lunch.Kid-friendliness: There is a baby chair“
“Be sure to check this place out. It is off the main street just a couple blocks. Feels like a locals joint with comfort food and great wine. They also have live music (on select nights). We started with the minestrone soup and house made focaccia. Both were great. Our entrees were the house made gnocchi, lasagne, spaghetti and risotto. We also ordered side of Brussel sprouts that also had pancetta and sweet potatoes. They were the best thing on the table. Delicious. All of our dishes were lovely. The only drawback was the risotto is not a traditional one. Did not have the creaminess we are used to. We will definitely be back.Service was excellent as well.“
“Came here to get a pizza at almost 12am. I have to say the people in San Rafael are so lucky to have a good delicious pizza place open for takeout after 11pm because most places don't stay open past 9pm. Their pizza was so good. I loved it!“
“Not many places have that old school. Feel to it with the new world charm. But this place does. It's one of my favorite places in marine not because of an nostalgia. But because of quality, the manager seemed nice or the owner. I don't know who he was. But the you made me wanna come back. Food of course was tasty.“
“I stopped in here craving pizza... I was immediately greeted and made to feel welcome. They have a large menu with pizza, pastas & salads. I got a large chicken barbecue pizza. It was amazing. The fresh & quality ingredients really made the pizza fantastic. This is a busy & popular restaurant so I recommend calling in your order. I noticed a lot of customers doing this while I was there.. Thanks for the great experience.. Be back soonVegetarian options: This restaurant will accommodate vegetarian options upon requestParking: The restaurant has free off-street parking.Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is on the ground floor and is very wheelchair accessible.“
“Recently went back to Boca for the first time since the pandemic. Pre-pandemic, it was one of our go-to restaurants with the kids, but somehow, didn't get around to going back until recently. Food: App: octopus was well seasoned and tender without being mushy. Even the arugula was dressed well, and went well with the octopus and polenta. Salad. Shared a Boca salad. We used to always get a salad that had lamb slices and I think a hunk of goat cheese(?) but it's no longer on the menu. This entree salad was a pretty good substitute. Generous portion, and again, well dressed--flavorful without being drenched/soggy. Crostini was nicely toasted. Entree: shared the short rib pappardelle, which was delicious. So flavorful, and our 10 year old kept sneaking bites even after he claimed he was full from his pizza. Pizza: got the kids a pepperoni, and cheese pizza, fully knowing that the pizzas are big, and that they would eat less than half, since they refused to compromise and share a pizza. But hey, leftovers for lunch the next day! The pizzas were fine, nothing special. But the kids liked them, which is saying something. Service: attentive without being hovering Ambiance: casual, not too crowded, but we went at 5 pm, when it's mostly families and maybe seniors.“
“This place has been here for YEARS and it’s always been wonderful! If you’re the type who likes to just get a single or a couple slices of a specific pizza, this is that type of pizzeria and it’s frankly one of the best in Marin. Yeah everyone says the west coast can’t do pizza very well compared to NYC or Chicago but I’d say at least give this place a fair try before you judge!“
“The food was ok. Had cheese pizza for the kiddos, they all agreed that it was average. My wife had the boca salad and she also said it was ok. I had the portobello ravoli and thought it was good, however a little tough. Overall it was an expensive price for average food.“
“My friend and I drove to San Rafael/Marin all the way from Antioch Ca /1hr drive each way. We heard that this is the spot to eat some tasty pizza and what not. The menu is simple yet caters to many different appetites. You will not be disappointed when you get there and eat for yourself. The staff was very courteous and the bathrooms were spotless… that means a lot! Because I am picky. The owners are sweet! It was definitely worth the drive. The atmosphere is super relaxing and plenty of parking.Vegetarian options: Many variety’s from salads to pizza to pastaDietary restrictions: They have non cheese friendly pizzasParking: Easy to get to in front of the restaurants and side of the restaurant 2hr limitKid-friendliness: Family oriented restaurantWheelchair accessibility: Very easy wheel chair accessible“
“Dinner on a Sunday evening. First time here. I immediately liked the vibe of the place. A rustic Italian feel with old photos and other Italian related stuff that gave it a nice cozy feel. I had the lemon pasta with poached salmon. It was pretty good. My daughters also had pasta dishes with a red sauce and were pleased with their meals. Service was pretty good. We left feeling very stuffed. I would definitely go back. I'd say Fradelizio's rates pretty well in my experience with Italian food.“
