Pork Chile Verde Plate

“Ten stars to the hospitality! All employees (waitresses, cooks) are very respectful, professional, and friendly. Food is really good. I keep coming back. There is a big screen tv and a music box you can play music on. Big windows make the place nice and airy. Plenty of parking.“

“Came across this place on our way to Santa Barbara and the food is delicious. I had chicken enchiladas verde and it was delicious, plus their rice. My husband had the recommended fish dish with scallops, prawns, octopus & scallops. It was delicious as well. The sauce was a little spicy but just enough to still enjoy the flavorful meal.“

“Service was really good. The food was done quickly, and it was really delicious. I got the surf and turf tacos and a side of fries. 10/10 would recommend. The place was nice. The only thing that wasn't great was the amount of smoke inside the building. Besides that, it was really good.“

Taquería Casa del Palmar Mexican •
511 Front St, Soledad

“I literally plan my drive time two and from my ranch to be able to get a burrito from Casa del Palmar. Try a loaded chicken or beef burrito and you will not be disappointed!First went into this place during the pandemic so the chairs were stacked and the only service is takeout. People at the counter were super friendly, but I have no clue what the table service is like. Generally if I want a burrito I am on the move so takeout is the most important thing.“

Tacos el jalisciense Seafood • $

“Tacos El Jalisciense is a hidden gem nestled in a neighborhood of Soledad. From the moment I pulled up I knew I was in for a treat.Let’s talk about the stars of the show: the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos. Each bite was a symphony of flavors dancing on my taste buds. The Al Pastor was perfectly marinated, transported me to the bustling streets of Mexico City. The Carne Asada, tender and juicy, was a testament to years of experience behind the grill.Highly recommend if you're rolling through town and need a quick bite!Tacos El Jalisciense is a hidden gem located in a neighborhood of Soledad. “Best damn Mexican food I've had in the three years I have lived in California. Fresh; made to order. Handmade tortillas (they have a wooden tortilla press in the kitchen right next to the stoves) that are absolutely phenomenal. Authentic food (though the refried beans seemed as if they came from a can). Good portion size; good value for the prices (expect to spend about $10-$20/person). My wife and I were still talking about how good the food was the next day. We will definitely make the 2-hour drive from Lemoore to Soledad to eat there again soon.“

“When the original location was open in the heart of the Salinas valley, Gonzales, is when I fell in love with the food and service at The Windmill. I remember having the steak marsala for the first time in the well lit, but still homey, aesthetic in this restaurant housed in a building that was once and art deco'd bank. Now in Soledad, the food and service hasn't changed a bit... They just couldn't find a bank like the one in Gonzales :)“

“Hadn't been to this restaurant in probably 20 years or more, since it changed owners. Stopped by while traveling down 101 just on a whim for a quick lunch. Was surprised there were no other customers on a Friday noon, but the chef who also was our server, was very friendly and cooked up our order in a timely manner. We quite enjoyed our grilled ham & cheese and BLTs with tasty fries on the side. He noted the place gets busier after about 3pm.“
