Great food, generous portions, and friendly service. We had smothered and baked chicken, greens w/cabbage, rice and gravy, black eyed peas, mac N cheese, and peach cobbler. We were not disappointed.
Just a few blocks on Manchester from Superior Courthouse in Inglewood. Ordered lunch sized fried chicken plate which comes with two pieces of chicken. I asked for two thighs as I love dark meat. Comes with two moist cornbread cupcakes. Choice of two sides: Masher potatoes Mac & cheese Corn okra and tomatoes Collard greens Cornbread dressing String beans w/ carrots Rice and gravy Black eyed peas Cabbage Yams Peach cobbler for dessert Oxtail available. First read about this in a Michael Connelly Bosch book and had to make the drive up to Inglewood to check it out. The book mentioned the Fried Chicken and Peach Cobbler so we had to order that, picking up for ourselves and our neighbors. Food was very good, flavorful, and every bit as good as the book led us to believe.
