“This past weekend, I had the chance to visit Mirate without a reservation. Given it was Coachella weekend, I imagine it's usually tough to get a table here without a wait. Right from the moment we walked in and were directed to the bar area, I felt like something special was about to unfold. The environment was both open and lush, creating a sense of bliss similar to the feeling of being on vacation. The drinks menu was impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the La Soñadora, a clarified milk punch, out of the two I tried. We ordered five dishes, and four really stood out. I would definitely order the pork belly tacos, kampachi aguachile, jalapeño cornbread, and the baby gems again. We were too full to try the churros, although we wanted to. Our server was wonderful and played a big part in making our afternoon at Mirate a 5-star experience.“

“This visit was my second time in 2 weeks. This time we celebrated my sister birthday. Couldn't think of a better place to celebrate this occasion. The New York was cooked perfectly rare. The scallops were amazing and sweet. The charcuterie plate was fantastic and of course the potatoes cooked and duck fat with the vinaigrette dressing fantastic. That was very thoughtful and much appreciated. As it was we were there for my birthday and so we were not in a rush and could enjoy the skyline and cuisine. Ordered the shrimp cocktail, chicken liver and charred carrot starter. Had Cacio & Pepe, Charmoula and Duck Confit as our main. Suddenly I thought of Pasadena Old Town, which I often went to when I was studying. I hadn’t been there for a long time. The car drove into Old Town and finally found a roadside parking. The toll was an old coin-operated type. I didn't see coins during this trip, and even banknotes were rare. Fortunately, there is an app on the toll that allows you to pay directly. , quickly download the app and pay with a credit card. You can only park for 2 hours, so just browse around as you like.The restaurants in Old Town are completely different from what they used to be. I didn’t know any of them, but I happened to see Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery, a cheese specialty store with bright and clean windows. It was small and elegant. It seemed that it also had a restaurant. When I walked in, I saw a variety of cheese and red wine. Immediately I intuitively chose Primento cheese omelette and cappuccino. After a while, the dishes were all served. “We really enjoyed our experience here. In fact, I have shared with several people since then how much I enjoyed being there, and the fact that it was the best meal I have had for sometime. We had the pork chops and salmon. In particular, we felt the meals were very tasty, well presented, and the carrot cake dessert was unique and simultaneously light and decadent. The service was also excellent. Our drinks were regularly filled, and someone was always checking in with us to make sure all of our needs were fulfilled. The only thing I would change is better signage for parking. It was unclear which parking lot was specific for the restaurant, and because the road is one way, we both, in our separate cars, ended up having to go all the way around the block before figuring out precisely where to go. I had to call for specific instructions, and the person with me called me for further instructions. Better signage outside, and also signage for precisely where to once you get out of your car, would be helpful. Also, since you can only park on one side of the parking lot, signage for that would also be helpful.“

“Historical Pasadena restaurant that some people forget about. I hadn’t been here for years until this evening. I’d give 5 stars, but my pork chop was dry and little overcooked. Everything else was wonderful, including the drinks. It’s very intimate inside, but as the restaurant fills up it gets quite loud. The patio is covered and heated, but you may find yourself having to talk over the nearby tables or road noise. Valet parking only, $8 at the time of this review. There is street parking available on Fair Oaks though.“

We especially enjoyed their mushroom pizza and house fries. When it comes to drinks, perhaps it was just that this place had been overhyped as some of LA's best cocktails, but I found them to be just okay. I tried the Midnight Breakfast and Eospresso and they were both ... fine. I wish there was something a little more memorable about them. The environment felt electric and trendy, but even right at open, grew loud with voices and pumped-in music. I think I'd recommend it to everyone to try once, but it wasn't the quiet, brilliant cocktail lounge I was hoping it might be.“

Friendly and fun servers, nice selection of brews, hot pretzels, yummy hot dogs, and a nice back patio. Legend has it that Walt's is the former location of the very first Vans Off The Wall store, which is pretty epic in itself. Go. You'll enjoy. We did.“
“AltaEats offers a culinary journey with highs and lows. This was my second visit to AltaEats. The first time was a 5 out 5. This visit offered inconsistency in both food and service. The salads (burrata and caesar) at AltaEats were a standout, offering fresh and flavorful combinations. Make sure to the delicious bacon-wrapped dates; a delightful blend of sweet and savory. The rib eye was okay. It didn't quite live up to our expectations. The bread & butter and pot de creme were both delicious. We fought over the lest bits of the desert. The service was a mixed. One waitress, notably wearing a provocative necklace, left much to be desired in terms of friendliness and professionalism. On the other hand, the second waitress provided exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience AltaEats offers a culinary adventure with standout dishes and a mix of service experiences. “This has been always been one of my favorite bars in LA, but has gotten even better over the last few years with the new patio area. Great selection of beer, wine, kombucha, etc., solid bar food, and the staff is always helpful and willing to let you do a taste of something before ordering. Wanted to also chime in regarding H.R.'s one star review of the bar. We were outside that night as well, and her telling of events is hilariously untrue. She assaulted a patron, threatened a second patron, poured a beer on a third patron, and was finally asked to leave by staff. Her husband also threatened our table despite us not being a part of the kerfuffle she started with the people at the table next to us. It was definitely an eventful night, but the staff handled the situation well given how unruly she and her party were.“

“Joseon is an excellent choice for a great date night in Silverlake, Los Angeles. The "less is more" ambiance is favorable, the music is not loud so conversations come easier, the staff is attentive, and the food is pretty special. The name gives the impression of a golden era of Korean dining, and an experience designed for royalty, and we definitely felt that throughout the night. My partner and I started with a cocktail/mocktail because they sounded unique (and they were). We ordered a 7 course and a 5 course, thinking that we could try to get a good variety when there were two options for some of the courses. We opted for wine flight pairing as well, and were surprised how well selected the options were. I'd recommend that a party of 2 orders the same number of courses, however, because we didn't always both get a course. We shared about everything though, so it ended up being fine. Also, knowing the process to expect for a 7 course meal will make a difference in how you appreciate the timing. Courses are spaced out by anywhere from 15-25 minutes, so expect to be in the restaurant for at least 2-2/12 hours, or more. We were at our table for just short of 3 hours, but we also talked with the staff a bit while enjoying an espresso with dessert. This kind of timing, in this context, is a good thing, because it means that the kitchen doesn't have a bunch of plates being pre-made then waiting to be delivered by wait staff who also have other tables to attend to. The chef freshly prepares each dish for your specific table, and then it's presented immediately. That makes for a top quality dining experience, where each of these dishes was not only a work of art but also presented for enjoyment, just as the chef and their team intends. We enjoyed the 7 courses! I think our favorite was the Braised Stew with Sea Bass, and the Rice Cake dish with Zucchini Blossom. The Sea Trout Tartare was also a nice way to start the meal. The aromas coming off many of those dishes was memorable. The dessert they brought wasn't on the menu, and came complementary for us, I don't know if they typically charge for dessert. One was some fresh cantaloupe with a special sweet sauce (they called it a palate cleanser), and one was an amazing rice pudding creme brûlée, it was an outstanding way to finish our evening. We will be back, next time we'll make it a double date!“
“Best hotel in hollywood! There's free parking (slightly off site but still it's FREE!). The service is great, rooms are all very clean and unique. You get drink tokens, automatic entrance to the club downstairs (be sure to book on a night you're excited about who is playing to really take advantage of this perk!), AND since it's a recording studio you get to KEEP a record that has been recorded there which will be provided on your bed upon arrival along with ear plugs and a nice nail file. All the rooms have record players and an assortment of records as well as blue tooth speakers so you can jam out however you like! They've got some drink options for room service and a nice book of recommendations for food delivery in the area. Honestly the only reason I would ever hesitate to review this place is so it doesn't get too popular for me to be able to come back!“
