Rhubarb pie. My favorite dessert of all time!! So few places make it any more, and those that do spoil it with strawberries. Sweet Mel's sold me a wonderful pie two weeks ago, and an even better one yesterday. How do you top something that was already great? I have no idea, but they did!!

Peggy makes the best cakes! I asked my daughter where to go for cakes and she said "Sweet Mel's! I go every Friday. The girls get her macaroons, they're epic!" We walked in looking for a cake for my grandson, but she didn't have the flavor filling he wanted in her case. She said if we came back later that afternoon, she'd have it ready. The cake was perfect! He loved it as did everyone else! We're not going anywhere else for cakes or baked goodies! Go visit Peggy! There's nothing better than fresh baked. You'll never go back to a supermarket cake again!

This place is amazing! They have a great variety of sweets to curb Your appetite. The cookies are all good, the apple turnover is to die for!!! We also got a coconut cream pie and let me tell you it is the best I've ever had!

I was surprised to see so many good reviews for Sweet Mel's because not only were the pie prices over priced $24 for a berry pie & $24 for a cream pie , but I was disappointed with the taste of both pies I purchased. Very nice customer service so that was nice. The online menu prices do not come close to what they charge you when you go pick up. Sorry Sweet Mel's but you need to be clear with customers calling to order on the actual pie price.

I've been going to this hidden away place each year for 5 plus years, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some of my favorite pies and cakes have been Cheesecake, Blackberries pie and Pecan pies. I've also have bought some of their snacking food for company meetings; all have been a huge success. The people behind the counter are extremely knowledgeable and polite, and the inside of the bakery you can almost taste the ingredients of the miscellaneous bake goods as you enter the bakery. The store is always clean with shelves of delicious desserts.

This hidden gem is a must visit when you are in Lodi. The owners have been making delicious, cookies, pies, cakes, and donuts for as long as I can remember. You will not find a more delicious handmade treat anywhere. Every time you walk in you are greeted with a smile, just like when you visit Grandma!

I needed 8 pies for gifts. I yelped this place. I found out Mel is a real person; 87 years old, gets to the bakery at 1:00am. The small retail area is busy with a gaggle of attractive women who are apparently all related to Mel. I'm all in when it comes to supporting small family businesses ... even if the pies were just average. However, Mel's pies are (as you would expect) above average. And I, the giver of the pies, was revered because of said pies that Mel baked! thanks, Mel!
Lots of fresh, made-on-site offerings. I chose a bear claw and an elephant ear. The latter was a tad well done, but tasty. Prices were very reasonable. I will be back to try strudel and kuchen.

Yummy treats! Small bakery but had variety of pies to choose from. We got a banana cream since that's what kids will eat. Fresh and tasty. Tried day old bear claws that heated well and were an added treat!Also tried the Dutch girls which I hid away for myself! No pics because it didn't last too long
