“Overall it was good , female bartender very nice Taller gentlemen very nice JT, most everyone , very nice welcoming , bareback or guy behind bar gave off a uncomfortable vibe , his facial expressions told the story , if he treated any of my customers like that I would fire him , I didn't eat since my appetite was destroyed by guys horrible vibe , he was very nice to 2 women giving them drinks but when 1 of them offered me her shot , the look on the bartender guy was angry , my 1st time there so his actions where for nothing NOT GOOD SPOT I WOULDNT GO BACK“

“This has to be one of my favorite businesses in long beach. To start, the staff are always warm and welcome. They treat everyone like family and are always so cheerful. Breakfast + Lunch ALL DAY! I really love that the new owners have their full menu available during opening hours. Not only are they the most economical option for burritos in long beach, I believe they might even be the biggest. (see photos) I was not a fan of the previous management of this place, but I encourage anybody that was discouraged from the previous owners to go back and try it again. I swore off this place until I found that there were new people that really wanted to introduce great value to the community. 5 stars all around!“

“I've been coming here for over a year now and they never disappoint. My husband and I love the breakfast burrito. I like that they put tater tots in the burrito instead of hash browns because the potatoes are super crispy. The owner already knows what I am going to order when I walk in. That says a lot as well! “Awesome Chile rellenos the only issue I had was a bit pricey for what I actually got my girlfriend loved it we actually went back for more two days later we asked for chips and salsa I got a nice big bag with a large container of salsa so all in all a nice place to visit I just wish it was a little less than almost $20.00 for 2 Chile rellenos with some lettuce on the side and pico de gallo still ok once in a while but if you have the budget then yes I do recommend this place as a nice way to spend a nice evening with someone special dating etc.“

“There are many Mexican Grill restaurants that exist but none of them are anything like La Chancla. The food is rooted in grass roots to the core Mexican meals. Set up like a chipotle where you can see the meal prep in front of you, minus the corporate restaurant vibes. The music is bumping here and this "hole in the wall" is more like entering a wonderland. Reasonably priced and food packed with flavors that will leave you satisfied. They're true to themselves and show you with their art why you can count on and bet on them for a fulfilling meal. La Chancla has changed the game and set the standard for me as far as what real Mexican food just like home is like.“

“We have been coming to this family and female owned restaurant for many, many months now. They have great choices, especially for former, or soon to be former, meat eaters. Generous portions always cooked exactly to order. You *must* order the drunken nachos. Their pinto beans are the best we have ever had. Wish we could cook them as well as they, at our own home! The horchata is excellent, and The Wife enjoys their margaritas. Small carpark, but we have never had problems with street parking.“

“I recently travelled to the area for a weekend get away and really enjoyed this spot. Their staff was friendly. They had a solid menu that worked for everyone And as a vegetarian i was happy they had more then a few options for me as well. The staff was very friendly and personable as well. If I was a local this would be my go to spot.

Vegetarian options: They had tofu, soy chorizo, and tofu pastor for veggie protein options and that's way better than most places.“

“We drove around yesterday and found this hidden gem! Omg was i suprised! We ended up getting the Molcajete for 2 and ended up leaving with leftovers! Huge portion for the buck! Plus fresh hand made tortillas topped it off! My other family members got the huge packed quesadilla for my grandson..amazing! The 3 tacos plate combo with beans and rice! Delicious! And the Carnes asada and shrimp plate! Did not disappoint! They got fresh aguas frescas, we got the horchata. And the employees there were so polite and were so attentive to us. Im definitely coming back to try everything on there menu! Stomach fell in love with this place. Need to visit for the prices! Help support small family business like these!

Vegetarian options: They have the options to provide a vegan meal as long as you order specifically what you want them to add to your order and im sure if you tell them you are vegan, they will make sure to attend to your accommodations.

Parking: There is parking in back by the Barber Shop or 2hr parking in front. Plenty of time to eat.

“I have been coming here since 2019 and I absolutely love this place. All the food I have had is always really good. My favorite thing on the menu is the vampiro burrito. Their carnitas are so good too.
And the pozole is really good for a hangover.
I will say though, their prices have gone up A LOT. It’s worth every penny though!“
