“Fantastic French cafe eats and coffee drinks. The setting is so Van Gogh. Perhaps it has views of the water from the unaccessible upper floors but it’s a quaint little place and is part of Monterey’s eclectic make-up. If you have a B’day coming up their French cakes are divine too.“

“Celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday at Pebble Beach and needing a gluten free cake we found Nece’s GF and will be forever dreaming of the best carrot cake (gluten free or not) we have ever tasted…devoured…enjoyed! Even the vanilla and chocolate cupcakes I added to our order were amazing! Thank you also for your amazing perfect cake decorations!“

“We love coming to Pacific Grove and when traveling with kids it is hard to find a place with something to keep everyone happy. They gave us a cute table outside in the beautiful weather. The wagyu burger was great and the onion rings are some of the best we have ever had! We even came back the next day for some more. The Pizza was delicious and pasta and salads were great and fresh. Get the focaccia bread as an appetizer and you can’t go wrong. We will be back!“

“I have been going here for a few years now. The cakes are absolutely delicious! We have a lot of March birthdays and our favorite flavor is the lemon cake with raspberry preserves. The owner is very kind and they always pull off any decoration that I want. Would recommend 10/10!!!“

“Love this place! Great coffee, and yummy avocado toast. Friendly staff, quick service and healthy short menu. Sit at the long natural wood shared tables. BTW a huge coffee grinder in the shop is fun to see. Open to the outside so you can sit outside in good weather. Hilarious the famous tandem bike that the shop kept outside - the thief was caught on video stealing - showed up dumped and returned, likely due to being all over the news! Lol.“
“I ordered the butterscotch with chocolate chips and the chocolate chip/ marshmallow/gram cracker cookies. They were THE BEST cookies I have ever tasted in my life. Proceed with caution. You will want to eat them everyday! :) Is there any chance you would offer vegan options one day? I hope so!“

“Was so good, went by twice while in Carmel for a wedding. Saturday. got there by 9am, display cases appeared fully stocked of everything. Sunday, got there by 10am, a few items were sold out. We got what we wanted, but still! The mocha actually had a rich chocolate flavor (compared to bucks) Love how they carry mini pastries which are the perfect size to share and taste and try variety!!!! Well priced, cheaper than SF.“

“Never in my life have I ever thought I'd see the live long day I would eat a raw sweet potato but then I went to Alta Cafe in Monterey and ordered a Grain* Bowl. The menu listed sweet taters in it and I'm a sweet tato felon. But to my surprise and eventual delight that sucker RAW. Never have I felt more raw vegan Cali girl Stanley cup life style than then and I fear I may never feel that way again ?. Also the coffee cold brew had coffee ice cubes that was awesome good job guys .and the ginger scone was yummy. And the salmon toast was yummy too.*Quinoa bowl excuse meVegetarian options: So many it's crazy. Raw tatosKid-friendliness: You could fit So many of those suckers in there“

“It was their Traditional Yerba Mate service that caught our attention and then coincidentally reading a little of their backstory brought us in. Once settled, we instantly felt at home and couldn't have enjoyed our visit(s) more. Clearly locals love the spot for its relaxed atmosphere and food...Ok I mean absolutely fantastic food. You simply have to try all their empanadas, the mind-blowing Sopa and Lemon Delight. Don't miss out on their gem offering... Yerba Mate!Mate: really is a way of life (relaxed). It takes a little time, make the time, it's so worth it. The staff were surprised/delighted by my order of a traditional (hot) Mate service, and the owner came out with an exuberant "You're drinking Mate!?!" We had a nice conversation about the ritual of drinking Mate, Paraguay and some of her experiences with the cafe. Our second visit though, led to a lengthy discussion with a knowledgeable staff member about more advanced techniques for Yerba Mate preparation, character of the various brands, etc...I've been casually enjoying Mate for twenty years and still came away with a better understanding. They're so kind and pleasant, you'll enjoy the experience whether you're a newbie needing to be walked through the process or a budding connoisseur.“

“Heard about this place from a friend, decided to wake up early on Saturday to stand in line for one and a half hours just for croissants! It was worth it!!This place is cash only and on the expensive side. You’ll tell yourself you only want a couple things but end up spending a small fortune for bread!Totally worth it!“

“This is one of my favorite places to get coffee with friends of a date. Service is quick. The dining room is super chill and cozy and it feels like a greenhouse. Their coffee selection is simple but well done. Their pastries are pretty good too-- I've yet to try much, but I'm excited to try more.“

“Omg. Had I known that my Cheese Danish was going to be a whole other level of delicious, I would have bought a couple!I was passing through the area and wanted Starbucks (cause it keeps me awake while driving) and I ran in to the little bakery Nextdoor. Everything looked really good but you never really know ..butIt’s REALLY good!I still have an almond croissant and a savory scone which I shall save for tomorrow but if they’re anything like the danish, I’m in for a treat!A gem in a strip mall. ❤️“

“So I'll start with the positivity."The works" bacon breakfast burrito was excellent, potatoes cooked perfectly with great flavor and homemade salsa flavor bomb. Wife said her breakfast tacos were delicious same positivity on her food.Moving on to the drinks, my wife loved the orange juice however $6 for about 8oz is a little bold. I bought a $7 latte which didn't offend me by price because in all the pictures it came in a Bowl! And I was actually excited about that however they didn't have any clean bowls at the time so they gave me a regular mug which was at least only have the size and charged me full price. When I asked about it she explained and said she would remake it for me but never did, and still charged full price.I can get by all that but my son ordered the buttermilk pancakes and they didn't give him syrup we had to ask not that big of deal, then after he said he was done eating my wife went to sample his pancakes and noticed the middle of the cakes still had batter in them, not cooked fully. My son is only 11 and just didn't know any better he thought because it said buttermilk that that was normal lol, the restaurant took off $6 from the $12 price and gave him a free cookie however, one staffer tried to suggest they may have been a little undercooked I don't appreciate trying to justify it just comes off as a disagreement and there was nothing to dispute. Also if you want to make amends for a partially raw pancake you mark it completely off the bill, especially considering I only got a half coffee ?.If I could go 3.8 I would again our items tasted great just some key misses in decorum.“

“Stopped here because there was a higher rated place in the area that had a line out the door. We decided to try here and agreed the line here should be out the door and around the corner.Had one of their twice baked pistachio beads, a chai tea latte and a kimchi cheddar scone.Everything we got was a knock out of the park. They somehow got flavors that are normally more mild to really stand out. Some of the best bread I've ever had.To put it simply. Bakery do bread good“

“Was craving a liege waffle for months and a quick Yelp search this morning brought me to L'Aubette. Luckily today was a Sunday, because that's the only day they're open! I parked on Lighthouse (which is a couple blocks away) in order to avoid the metered parking fee near Cannery Row.It's a cute bakery on the corner of Drake. You order and pay outside on the porch. The classic liege waffle costs $5, and you can opt to carry it away in a box or in a handheld paper pocket. The waffle was warm, crisp yet doughy, and just the right amount of sweet/caramelization. Quite the perfect location, as you can cross the street towards Tidal coffee and look out at the bay while enjoying your Sunday waffle.“

“The sweet pans are delicious and a must try, when we got there, they were all freshly baked! Only complaint I have is the tamales, they were not cooked properly, thus they were dry, and I believe the corn husks that wrap around the tamale were not washed before steaming so the taste of dry dusty husk was strong within the tamale.Parking: Parking was fairly easy to find.“

“we've been here a few times now.. We were drawn by their almond Croissants that the coffee bank sells.. Its high end cakes and well worth a trip.. My wife finds excuses for us to drive near it and then 'oh are we near Paris' !... Staff are friendly and helpful and cakes always fresh and interesting !“
“I love this place. It's a bit odd at first going into their wholesale area as this is a working large bakery, but it's easy. First you navigate to the Togo sign and make an immediate right and park in the bakery lot. Then you walk around to where the drive-thru area is and walk through the double doors. Sometimes they are busy filling orders, but they get to you pretty quickly. You get to choose the breads you want, they bag em, you pay cash, and you walk away with gorgeous fresh fluffy loaves of deliciousness for a fairly inexpensive price. I stopped by every time I'm on the peninsula. They're my fav. Tried the others. Paloma has bread down!! That's why a lot of the sandwiches here are so good. Go. You won't be disappointed.“

“Their spring menu had lavender drinks and I was in love with the Lavender Haze drink. YUMMM. Not too sweet and a good good-morning drink. Pastries were fresh (had the hot cross bun) and was the perfect complement to my warm drink. Plenty of parking, cute shopping center, and friendly/prompt staff.“

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bakery!!! We just ordered an angel food cake with a layer of pastry cream in the middle and topped with fresh strawberries ? and whipped cream for my in-laws 60th Wedding Anniversary surprise dinner. It was not only as delicious as it sounds, it was beautiful! In fact, guests, and the bride and groom of course, lol, wanted to take some home if there was any left over slices at the end of the night! Our family and guests made wonderful comments about how beautiful the cake was and equally delicious! Susan, the owner, did a wonderful job with this cake and it was spectacular! In addition, I, myself, have had many other baked goods and breakfast items in this bakery and have never been disappointed! Everything is so fresh and divinely delicious I just had to write this review to let everyone out there know what a great bakery this is. From her specialty of key lime pie (which I normally don’t like, but I’m addicted to this one), to cheesecake, cinnamon buns, macaroons, banana bread, to crème brûlée, breakfast items and much, much more, this bakery aims to please and tantalize the taste buds!Like I said, I HIGHLY recommend The Perfect Crumb and I hope if you’re ever in the area you make the well-worth-it trip to stop by and see for yourself how good the food is at this bakery! Bring a friend, bring the family or just yourself to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee with your baked goods before going to enjoy all Pacific Grove and Monterey have to offer! It’s the best way to start your day!!!! “
“Whenever I'm working in Big sur I stop on Rio rd for some gas. Even if I'm running late, I make time to stop for some bagels to give the crew. There's a big parking lot so you won't have an issue getting in and out of this place especially with the fast service. There's usually a line of blue collar workers, students and soccer moms alike. I've tried a few pastries and savory dishes as well. The chicken bake is always a safe bet if you don't want to eat too much. When they warm it up for you, it's always pretty hot in the first few bites but kinda cold in the middle still. I don't care too much to neg but it's something to he aware of. I also got the pig in a blanket, I forgot the name they use for it but it was good. A different type of sausage that I'm not super familiar with, not the best but I don't mind. The pastry that it's wrapped in is second to none. Throw some mustard on that bad boy and you're ready to take on the world. The bagels are really good too. I haven't tried one that I didn't agree with. Ambiance is simple and laid back for those that really just order and take off. Not sure if it's classified as a donut shop but that's pretty much the setting inside.“
“The literal best cafe experience in all of Monterey! Tina is AMAZING! So kind and really helps to create the magical atmosphere. The pretzel and the sauces are incredible — the best we have had! Love how local everything is too :) secret “
“We've purchased so many scrumptious cakes for special occasions & also love their variety of cookies, pastries & other goodies too. We love patronizing small businesses working hard to make homemade cakes versus the BIG BOX box grocery store cakes. No complaints ever.“

“I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Alexis and the cake she created for our wedding! Alexis completely nailed the design from the single inspiration photo I sent her, and as for the cake itself - oh my goodness! We scheduled a tasting with her a few months before our wedding, only to end up choosing the most incredible, decadent cake flavors possible, including: chocolate mud brownie, cookie butter, and a custom strawberries & cream layer. Without a doubt, this talented confectionist was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! Thank you, Alexis! - Sarah & Will“
