Kwan Lac Bakery Reviews
On our steam bun tour, we came to Kwan Lac to try their famous steam Taro Bun. The bakery had its own private parking lot, which was very convenient, and this no frill bakery accepted cash only. A bit of an update: the bakery actually closes at 3 and they take breaks on Wednesdays. This place is good for the price on the buns and cakes they sell, particularly if you're purchasing several buns for a funeral. They have a working relationship with a couple of Chinese temples in the area and they already know what you'll be looking for. Staff speaks limited English, but they know EXACTLY what you need and are courteous to customers in times of grief.

A very traditional mom and pop Chinese bakery that serves the best paper sponge cakes I've tried and I recently got to try NYC's Kam Hing bakery, known for its paper sponge cakes. I thought those were the best until I tried the ones from here! These are soft and fluffy with just the right amount of egg taste. It's no wonder all these reviewers said their sponge cakes were so good!! Glad they led me to the source!! Can't wait to go back for more!!
